  • In order to predict method of blasting vibration in ground and it's resident located around blasting field in urban area, blasting vibration characteristics were measured the vibration velocity(cm/sec), vibration acceleration($cm/sec^2$), vibration acceleration level(dB) and vibration level(dB(V)). The charged powder were used to 1.25kg and measuring sites were 25 points front 4m to 90m at the ground. The correlation of vibration velocity, vibration acceleration, vibration acceleration level and vibration level by square root scaled distance and cube root scaled distance were investigated. The correlation of PPV(peak particle velocity) velocity by SRSD(square root scaled distance) and CRSD(cube root scaled distance) was 0.85 and 0.86 and the correlation of PVS(peak vector sum) velocity by SRSD and CRSD was 0.82. Also vibration acceleration, vibration acceleration level and vibration level by SRSD and CRSD was 0.61, 0.62 and 0.82, respectively. As results, the vibration velocity and vibration level(dB(V)) was showed good correlation, but the vibration acceleration and vibration acceleration level was not showed good correlation.

  • A new interacting multiple model (IMM) method using intelligent input estimation (IIE) is proposed to track a maneuvering target. In the proposed method, the acceleration level for each sub-model is determined by IIE-the estimation of the unknown acceleration input by a fuzzy system using the relation between maneuvering filter residual and non-maneuvering one. The genetic algorithm (GA) is utilized to optimize a fuzzy system for a sub-model within a fixed range of acceleration input. Then, multiple models are composed of these fuzzy systems, which are optimized for different ranges of acceleration input. In computer simulation for an incoming ballistic missile, the tracking performance of the proposed method is compared with those of the input estimation (IE) technique and the adaptive interacting multiple model (AIMM) method.

  • Modern long-span floor system typically possesses low damping and low natural frequency, presenting a potential vibration sensitivity problem induced by human activities. Field test and numerical analysis methods are available to study this kind of problems, but would be inconvenient for design engineers. This paper proposes a simplified method to determine the acceleration amplitudes of long-span floor system subjected to walking or running load, which can be carried out manually. To theoretically analyze the acceleration response, the floor system is simplified as an anisotropic rectangular plate and the mode decomposition method is used. To facilitate the calculation of acceleration amplitude aP, a coefficient αwmn or αRmn is introduced, with the former depending on the geometry and support condition of floor system and the latter on the contact duration tR and natural frequency. The proposed simplified method is easy for practical use and gives safe structural designs.

  • Seismic risk maps in Korea are made using Korean historical and modern earthquake data. The risk maps made by several method are presented in contour line of vibratory ground motion(acceleration, velocity, and displacement). The method used are Kawasumi (1951), Kanai (1968), and Hsich et al (1975) method. The maps made by Kawasumi (1951) method represent the acceleration distribution ground and those by Kanai (1968) method show the acceleration, velocity, and displacement at bed rocks, The risk analysis by the method of Hsich et al (1975) shows the probability of acceleration at each of soft, medium and hard grounds in each tectonic province in Korea.

  • The acceleration noise is valuable index to monitor traffic stability. However, the previous study was performed for the acceleration noise of individual vehicle. The consideration of the acceleration noise for vehicle in the network has not been studied yet. This paper proposes a new macroscopic traffic flow monitoring method based on applying network acceleration noise.

  • This paper presents a new technique that derives the dynamic acceleration bounds of multiple cooperating robot systems from given individual torque limits of robots. A set of linear algebraic homogeneous equation is derived from the dynamic equations of multiple robots with friction contacts. The mobility of the robot system is analyzed by the decomposition of the null space of the linear algebraic equation. The acceleration bounds of multiple robot systems are obtained from the joint torque constraints of robots by the medium of the decomposed null space. As the joint constraints of the robots are given in the infinite norm sense, the resultant acceleration bounds of the systems are described as polytopes. Several case studies are presented to validate the proposed method in this paper.

  • Dredging and Reclamation which have been conducted steadily for creation of new coastal area have demerit that takes a long time. Hence, a lot of researches on acceleration of self-weight consolidation is proceeding continuously. In this paper, 30 cases of laboratory self-weight consolidation tests were conducted to understand application of PDF method, one of the self-weight consolidation acceleration methods, to domestic dredged soils. Acceleration effect of self-weight consolidation was confirmed through comparison and analysis on completion time and settlement of self-weight consolidation for none installed case and 4 kinds of common used PBD installed cases.

  • In this paper, we analyzed normal gait acceleration signal by time series analysis methods. Accelerations were measured during walking using a biaxial accelerometer. Acceleration data were acquired from normal subjects(23 men and one woman) walking on a level corridor of 20m in length with three different walking speeds. Acceleration signals were measured at a sampling frequency of 60Hz from a biaxial accelerometer mounted between L3 and L4 intervertebral area. Each step signal was analyzed using Box-Jenkins method. Most of the differenced normal step signals were modeled to AR(3) and the model didn't show difference for model's orders and coefficients with walking speed. But, tile model showed difference with acceleration signal direction - vertical and lateral. The above results suggested the proposed model could be applied to unit analysis.

  • This paper presents the acceleration and deceleration control of free-form surfaces. A rapid variation of acceleration (or Deceleration) drives the system into a machine shock, resulting in the inaccuracy of the path control of the NURBS curve. The pattern of acceleration control can be established using the curvature of the NURBS curve. The curvature can be easily calculated from the first and second derivative of the NURBS curve used in Taylor's expansion for NURBS interpolation. However, the derivatives are not used in the recursive method for NURBS interpolation. Hence, we attempted the difference-derivatives for calculating the NURBS curvature. Both, Taylor's expansion and the recursive method, are used jointly for controlling the acceleration in the same interpolation algorithm.
