이중 FBG 광섬유센서를 이용한 구조물 가속도 및 기울기 측정 장치에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Accelerometer for the Acceleration and Inclination Estimation of Structures using Double-FBG Optical Sensors)

  • In this study, an acceleration sensor that has optical fibers to measure the inclination and acceleration of a structure through contradictory changes in two-component FBG sensors was examined. The proposed method was to ensure precise measurement through the unification of the deformation rate sensor and the angular displacement sensor. A high sensitivity three-axis accelerometer was designed and prepared using this method. To verify the accuracy of the accelerometer, the change in wavelength according to temperature and tension was tested. Then, the change in wavelength of the prepared accelerometer according to the sensor angle, and that of the sensor according to the change in ambient temperature were measured. According to the test results on the FBG-based vibration sensor that was developed using a high-speed vibrator, the range in measurement was 0.7 g or more, wavelength sensitivity, 2150 pm/g or more, and the change in wavelength change, $9.5pm/^{\circ}C$.

A Study on Real-Time Slope Monitoring System using 3-axis Acceleration

  • The researcher set up multiple sensor units on the road slope such as national highway and highway where there is a possibility of loss, and using the acceleration sensor built into the sensor unit the researcher will sense whether the inclination of the road slope occur in real time, and Based on the sensed data, the researcher tries to implement a system that detects collapse of road slope and dangerous situation. In the experiment of measuring the error between the actual measurement time and the judgment time of the monitoring system when judging the warning of the sensor and falling rock detection by using the acceleration sensor, the error between measurement time and the judgment time at the sensor warning was 0.34 seconds on average, and an error between measurement time and judgment time at falling rock detection was 0.21 seconds on average. The error is relatively small, the accuracy is high, and thus the change of the slope can be clearly judged.

소형 휴머노이드 로봇의 그네 운동 (Swing Motion of Miniaturized Humanoid Robot)

  • In this Paper, we present analysis on the dynamics of human swing and its realization by a miniaturized humanoid robot. Since the motion of legs is the most important in the swing, the swing system can be approximated as a double pendulum. Based on Lagrangian analysis, the leg motion is designed to make the swing motion as sustained oscillation. In order to detect the peak instant of the swing and to synchronize the leg motion with the swing, we use ADXL acceleration/inclination sensor. The miniaturized humanoid in this paper has total 20 DOFs including 6 DOFs in each leg, 34cm in height, and 2kg in weight. As a result of realization of the swing by the humanoid, the sustained oscillation is verified through experiments.

Design, calibration and application of wireless sensors for structural global and local monitoring of civil infrastructures

  • Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) gradually becomes a technique for ensuring the health and safety of civil infrastructures and is also an important approach for the research of the damage accumulation and disaster evolving characteristics of civil infrastructures. It is attracting prodigious research interests and the active development interests of scientists and engineers because a great number of civil infrastructures are planned and built every year in mainland China. In a SHM system the sheer number of accompanying wires, fiber optic cables, and other physical transmission medium is usually prohibitive, particularly for such structures as offshore platforms and long-span structures. Fortunately, with recent advances in technologies in sensing, wireless communication, and micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), wireless sensor technique has been developing rapidly and is being used gradually in the SHM of civil engineering structures. In this paper, some recent advances in the research, development, and implementation of wireless sensors for the SHM of civil infrastructures in mainland China, especially in Dalian University of Technology (DUT) and Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), are introduced. Firstly, a kind of wireless digital acceleration sensors for structural global monitoring is designed and validated in an offshore structure model. Secondly, wireless inclination sensor systems based on Frequency-hopping techniques are developed and applied successfully to swing monitoring of large-scale hook structures. Thirdly, wireless acquisition systems integrating with different sensing materials, such as Polyvinylidene Fluoride(PVDF), strain gauge, piezoresistive stress/strain sensors fabricated by using the nickel powder-filled cement-based composite, are proposed for structural local monitoring, and validating the characteristics of the above materials. Finally, solutions to the key problem of finite energy for wireless sensors networks are discussed, with future works also being introduced, for example, the wireless sensor networks powered by corrosion signal for corrosion monitoring and rapid diagnosis for large structures.

  • Recently, landslides frequently occur on natural slope and/or man-made cut slope during periods of intense rainfall. With a rapidly increasing population on or near steep terrain, landslides have become one of the most significant natural hazards. Thus, it is necessary to protect people from landslides and to minimize the damage of houses, roads and other facilities. To accomplish this goal, many landslide monitoring systems have been developed throughout the world. In this paper, a simple landslide detection system that enables people to escape the endangered area is introduced. The system is focused on the debris flows which happen frequently during periods of intense rainfall. The system is based on the wireless sensor network (WSN) that is composed of wireless sensor nodes, gateway, and remote server system. Wireless sensor nodes and gateway are deployed by commercially available Microstrain G-Link products. Five wireless sensor nodes and one gateway are installed at the test slope for detecting ground movement. The acceleration and inclination data of test slope can be obtained, which provides a potential to detect landslide. In addition, thresholds to determine whether the test slope is stable or not are suggested by a series of numerical simulations, using geotechnical analysis software package. It is obtained that the alarm should be issued if the x-direction displacement of sensor node is greater than 20mili-meters and the inclination of sensor node is greater than 3 degrees. It is expected that the landslide detection method using wireless senor network can provide early warning where landslides are prone to occur.

Thus, it is necessary to protect people from landslides and to minimize the damage of houses, roads and other facilities. To accomplish this goal, many landslide prediction methods have been developed in the world. In this study, a simple landslide prediction system that enables people to escape the endangered area is introduced. The system is focused to debris flows which happen frequently during periods of intense rainfall. The system is based on the wireless sensor network (WSN) that is composed of sensor nodes, gateway, and server system. Sensor nodes comprising a sensing part and a communication part are developed to detect ground movement. Sensing part is designed to measure inclination angle and acceleration accurately, and communication part is deployed with Bluetooth (IEEE 802.15.1) module to transmit the data to the gateway. To verify the feasibility of this landslide prediction system, a series of experimental studies was performed at a small-scale earth slope equipped with an artificial rainfall dropping device. It is found that sensing nodes installed at slope can detect the ground motion when the slope starts to move. It is expected that the landslide prediction system by wireless senor network can provide early warnings when landslides such as debris flow occurs.

압력센서를 이용한 세그웨이 개발 (Implementation of Segway Using Pressure Sensors)

  • 최근 현대사회는 고도의 발전과 더불어 화석연료 사용으로 인한 환경문제가 대두되고 있다. 그래서 저공해 에너지 및 기술개발 등 지속적인 노력을 기울이고 있지만 기존의 화석연료와 자동차를 대체 할 수 있을 만한 수준의 성과를 거두지는 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 21세기 전기 오토모바일 분야에서 세그웨이(Segway) 기술을 토대로 단점을 보안하고 새로운 인터페이스의 방향을 제시하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 세그웨이는 자체의 기울어짐을 이용해서 제어를 하기 때문에 어느정도 경사가 있는 곳에서 기울기를 잘못 조절하면 그대로 넘어지는 문제가 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 단점을 해결해 보고자 2개의 압력센서(Load cell)를 사용하여 체중비율에 따른 제어방법을 도입해 보았다. 또, 경사로에서의 수월한 운행을 위해서 자이로센서와 가속도 센서를 사용해서 값을 보정해 경사에서도 자유로운 제어방법을 연구해 보았다. 탑승자의 체중과 경사각에 따른 압력센서의 압력 감지값을 실험으로 측정하여 산출해 본 결과 경사각에 비해서 체중에 대한 제어변수 변화량이 크다는 점을 알 수 있다. 결과적으로 압력센서를 사용해서 만든 세그웨이또한 제어가 간편하며 경사로 등에서의 안정성도 높은 것을 알 수 있다.

  • 경사계 센서는 여러분야에서 널리 적용되고 있는 센서 중의 하나이다. 특히 건축분야에서는 초고층 건물의 수직도와 수평도를 계측하고 모니터링하는데 적용되어 왔다. 최근 미소전기기계 시스템(MEMS: Micro Electro-Mechanical System)기술의 발달로 인해 많은 센서들이 개발되었다. 본 논문에서 논하고자 하는 MEMS형 경사계는 MEMS형 가속도계를 기반으로 한다. 정지한 상태에서 가속도계로 계측되는 정적 가속도와 중력가속도 사이의 관계를 이용하면 센서에 발생하는 경사를 계측할 수 있기 때문이다. 이러한 원리 때문에 좀 더 정확하고 이점을 갖는 경사계가 개발되었다. 보 실험을 통하여서 레이저 변위계와의 차이를 검증하였다. 실험결과 무선 MEMS형 경사계 센서 시스템은 높은 정확도, 안정성, 장기모니터링에 대한 경제성을 갖는 유용한 시스템임을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로 무선 MEMS형 경사계 센서 시스템은 건축분야에서 그리고 다른 여러 산업분야에서 정확하고 편리한 모니터링 시스템으로 적용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • In this paper, the application of robust fuel gauge algorithm in the external environment to general fuel gauge system is proposed. The proposed fuel gauge system is composed of two modules which are Moving Average Filter (MAF) and Inclination Filter (IF). They are used to show correctly the amount of fuel in the external environment which are curve road, slope or acceleration/deceleration driving. In parallel, verification and validation processes using Software In the Loop Simulation (SILS) in personal computer and Hardware In the Loop Simulation (HILS) similar to actual vehicle environments are established. Through this research, it turned out to be possible to operation of gauge become correct of external environment.

역진자형 자주로보트의 2차원 평면에서 궤도주행제어에 관한 연구 (Trajectory Tracking Control of the Wheeled Inverse Pendulum Type Self - Contained Mobile Robot in Two Dimensional Plane)

  • In this paper, we discuss on the control algorithm to make the wheeled inverse pendulum type mobile robot move in two dimensional plane. The robot considered in this paper has two independently driven wheels in same axel which suport and move it-self, and is assumed to have the fyro type sensor to know the inclination algle of the body and rotary encoders to know wheel's rotation angular velocity. The control algorithm is divided into three parts. The first part is for the posture and velocity control for forward-backward direction, the second is the steering control, and the last part is for the control of total system to track the given trajectory. We handle the running velocity control of the robot as part of the posture control to keep the balance because the posture relates deeply with the velocity and can be controlled by the velocities of the wheels. The control problem is analyzed as the tracking control, and the controller is realized with the state feedback and feed-forward of the reference velocity. Constructing the control system which contained one intergrator in forward path, we also realized the control system without observer for the estimation of the accumulated errors in the inclination angle of the body. To prevent the robot from being unstable state by sudden variation of the reference velocity when it starts and stops, or changes velocity, the reference velocity of which acceleration is slowly changing, is ordered to the robot. To control its steering, we give the different reference velocities for both wheels which are calculated from the desired angular velocity of the body. Finally, we presents the experimental results of the experimental robot Yamabico Kurara in which the proposed control algorithm had been implemented.
