  • Living environments in rural area have become deteriorated rapidly. Increase of aging population, decline in agricultural income, polarization of wealth in rural community due to rural returners have caused severe decline and imbalance of living environments in rural area. Responding to this circumstances, governments currently develop projects for improving living environments focusing on individual housing which were excluded from governmental supports because those had been regarded as private property. Nevertheless, there are still some gaps and problems in evaluating the quality of living environment and suggesting effective solutions. It would be because standards and guidelines of the projects have been based on urban housing system. In order to support the implementation of the projects, this research has developed an index for evaluating and monitoring the quality of living environments in rural area. By applying Delphi method, the index has been created in four categories of 'security', 'convenience', 'comfortability', and 'durability' 'Security' consists of structural safety, crime, disaster, accident prevention. 'Convenience' includes three divisions of living, traffic, farm working. 'Comfortability' is divided into sanitation, indoor environments, and aesthetic appreciation. Lastly, 'durability' has four divisions of energy conservation, environmental friendliness, efficiency, and economics. Each sub-division also has different items from three to twelves. In the case of an index for performance evaluation, items have been derived from energy conservation(6-items), and environmental friendliness(7-items). Items developed as an index for evaluating rural living environments in this research might be good background information for remodeling project in rural housing development.

  • This study was examined the quality characteristics of 20 types of non-sterilized commercial Makgeolli. These samples are classified according to firm size, enterprise Makgeolli(4 samples), prize-winning Makgeolli(6) and local Makgeolli(10). The alcohol contents of Makgeolli was determinded as follows: enterprise Makgeolli(6.18%), local Makgeolli(7.11%), and award-winning( 7.87%). Enterprise Makgeolli(0.24%) showed higher total acidity than award-winning and local Makgeolli(0.21%). In addition, pH levels were as follows: local Makgeolli(3.75), award-winning Makgeolli(3.77), and enterprise Makgeolli(4.09). Enterprise Makgeolli had the lowest sugar content. According to the sensory evaluation, three grades were identified based on balance and taste(5 points). The upper grade(more than 3 points) showed a higher pH, reducing sugar, higher aminoacidity, more soluble solids, and larger color differences than other grades. There were no significant differences in the level of acidity across the grades. The alcohol and volatile acid contents of the upper grade were lower than the middle(2.0-2.9 points) and lower(under 2.0 points) grades. Further research should provide a quality analysis of leavening agents and fermentation conditions, and a sensory evaluation.

  • Rural landscape is an outcome of residents' life activity based on natural environment. Unlike city, rural residents make their own landscape over a period of time interacting with nature through cultivating and building houses and huts based on the background. Therefore, residents' role in rural area is of greater importance than city's and their recognition of landscape is a key factor to evaluate and manage rural landscape. Landscape Evaluation Map which utilizing Feeling Map method is a evaluation tool to [md out residents' recognition of landscape. In this tool, responses evaluate landscape around their living space and mark color dots which mean landscape grade on a map. This research is to examine effectiveness and applicability of the tool, Landscape Evaluation Map, which is recommended to estimate residents' evaluation of landscape. Through analyzing 7 cases of field application, the effectiveness of Landscape Evaluation Map has been verified and also demerits have been drawn. After modifying detailed techniques and developing resident education, Landscape evaluation map could be applied to [md out landscape resources rather than to evaluate whole rural landscape.

  • The high-temperature molten salt pump is the core equipment in the small modular molten salt reactor with media temperatures up to 700 ℃. The cantilever ratio of the molten salt pump is usually large. Excessively large cantilever ratios cause increased deformations and rotational amplitudes at the impeller, thus affecting the operational stability of the main pump; small cantilever ratios cause heavy temperature gradients, thus affecting the structural integrity evaluation. This paper used numerical simulation methods to calculate and analyze the temperature field, stress, and structural integrity, optimized the pump shaft cantilever length of the original scheme based on structural integrity using the dichotomy method, and analyzed the rotor dynamics of the optimization results. The results of this study show that the thermal expansion load caused by the temperature difference has a significant mechanical effect on the structure; the first-order critical speed of the rotor system of the optimized schemes has been improved, and the amplitude of the unbalanced response has been significantly reduced, which not only improves the operational stability of the rotor, also contributes to the compact design of the main pump of a small modular molten salt reactor.

  • As in western countries, divorce rates in South Korea have recently been rising, and family disruption has become one of serious social problems. Parents are able to express their opinions and wishes confidently, but the thoughts and wishes of children, especially infants and young children, tend to be ignored. Children can also experience several emotional and behavioral problems during the process of and after their parents' divorce. When South Korean family courts determine custody arrangements, they typically do not have a systematic strategy and process based on custody evaluation to help children and their parents overcome conflicts and build healthy parent-child relationships after divorce. Furthermore, under the current court system, it is difficult for mental health specialists and child psychiatrists to intervene in familial conflicts as mediators or therapists during the course of divorce proceedings. Acknowledging these limitations, the South Korean family court system implemented a formal program for custody evaluations by child psychiatrists and psychologists in 2017. However, they have faced challenges such as a shortage of experienced specialist and lack of a training system or instruments for evaluation. In this paper, the authors aim to share professional knowledge of and experiences with aspects of the custody evaluation process, such as indications, procedures, methods, psychological tests, resources, and final report writing, to better serve children and their parents undergoing a painful divorce process.

  • Objectives: In this study, we aimed to conduct a systematic review of studies investigating psychosocial factors affecting children exposed to disasters. Methods: In total, 140 studies were retrieved. The studies were published from 1988 to 2015. A systematic review was performed using the PRISMA guidelines. MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Central, Web of Science, PsycINFO, PubMed, and Google Scholar were searched. Each database was searched using the following terms: 'Child,' 'Adolescent,' 'Youth,' 'Disaster,' 'Posttraumatic,' 'Psychosocial,' 'Assessment,' 'Evaluation,' and 'Screening.' The identified studies were subjected to data extraction and appraisal. Results: The database search identified 713 articles. Based on the titles and abstracts, the full texts of 118 articles were obtained. The findings of this review can be used as a basis for the design of a psychosocial evaluation tool for disaster preparedness. Conclusion: Given the paramount importance of post-disaster evaluation and the weaknesses of current disaster evaluation tools, the need to develop valid and reliable tools and psychometric evaluations cannot be overstated. Our findings provide current evidence supporting various assessments in children, who are very vulnerable psychologically following disasters.
