Although aspiration towards quality of life and holistic health has been growing faster in our modern society and the affordance of health in built environment has been more acknowledged, there has been hardly any development on built environment planning and design theory that can be comfortably and confidently used in creating built environment to promote holistic health. Thereby, this study sets out to experimently formulate a composite theory that explains the relationship between health and built environment. The main methodology of this study is literature review and analysis. Theories that have been applied in other similar fields were chosen to be analyzed by health related perspectives and graft those theories onto holistic health viewpoints to compose a comprehensive theory. Selected theories that were considered useful to be analyzed were Lawton's Environment Press Theory, Carp & Carp's Complementary & Congruence Theory, Valins' Activity-based Design Criteria Theory, Atchley's Continuity Theory, Murtha & Lee's User Benefit Criteria Theory, and Alexander's Pattern Language Theory. Characteristics of these theories were compared by their abstractness and concreteness, and the range of application, and analyzed by a holistic health perspective. Then, these theories were comprehensively structuralized and synthesized as a built environment for health theory. This study has its significance in providing a base to develop healthy built environment research further as it introduced a conceptual framework which explains spatial elements in the health functionality point of view.
This study was designed to examine the effects of integrated physical expressive activities on creativity in young children. Subjects of this study were 38 preschoolers at the age of 4 who consisted of both the experimental group of 18 children and the control group of 20 children. To measure the creativity of young children, this study adopted Figural Test A of Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT) as pre-and post-tests with both experimental and control group. The results showed that effects of integrated physical expressive activities varied by sub-dimensions of creativity; children's participation in integrated physical expressive activities was effective to improve openness, abstractness of titles, and elaboration even if overall creativity and fluency increased after their program participation. Also, originality was the only sub-dimension that was not improved. It implied that integrated physical expressive activities have partial positive effects on some sub-dimensions of creativity.
Interior is composed of void spaces decided by many substances and the function of the spaces which creat its valuation. Accordingly interior space makes peculiar forms by synthesizing each interior elements and its abstractness. Therefore characteristic of the expressed word and symbolic system become interior wholeness. The focus of this paper is to analyze interior words and the symbolic systems scientifically. The content is composed of 5 major parts. The 1st and 2nd chapter deal with Introduction and the Characterization of Interior Design. Linguistic symbol and metaphor which decide Post-Modern interior style were studied in the 3rd chapter. In the 4th chapter. this paper analysed linguistic character of interior words which need to express character of tradition. decoration, and publicity, expccially through code and metaphor. Finally Thematic I-louse library interior space designed by Charles Jencks was linguistically researched as a study model.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among domain-general creativity, linguistic intelligence, Korean language grade and linguistic creativity of elementary school student. And to confirm the relative predictive power of domain-general creativity variables in predicting elementary school students' linguistic creativity. The instruments used in this study were 'TTCT', 'Essay writing' and 'Linguistic intelligence ' and school grade of Korean language. Self-reported response data on these instruments from 338, 4th grade elementary school students in Seoul were analyzed. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations, multiple stepwise regression analysis and ANOVA by using SPSS 18.0. The major results of this study were as follows; First, the correlations among domain-general creativity, Korean language grade and linguistic creativity were significant. Second, Abstractness of title were the best predictor of linguistic creativity in elementary school students.
The purpose of this study was to develop science and art integrated program to improve the creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students. This study was to develop science and art integrated program to enhance the creativity of these subjects. This program was consisted of 30 lessons covering 10 topics. It was developed of five stages including the observation stage reflecting the characteristics of the right hemisphere relevant to creativity, the interest and curiosity stage, the experiment design and performing stage, the internalization stage, and the stage of expressing arts. This program was applied to 20 senior gifted students in Y Elementary School in Gyeonggi province. Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking(TTCT) was used in order to investigate and measure the effectiveness of the program before and after its use in class. The results of this study are as follows: First, this program showed results of significant improvement of creativity of scientifically gifted elementary school students after its use in class(p<.05). Second, it was significantly effective in increasing their creativity, especially in the subdomains such as originality, abstractness of title, and territory of resistance on hasty conclusions after its use in class(p<.05). Third, it was significantly effective to increase the Creativity Index that represents creative potential(p<.01). In particular, emotional expression, internalized visualization, unique visualization, and richness of the imagery emerged. This study implies that the science and art integrated program was closely related to the right hemisphere of the features enabling the subjects to create new ideas, new things, and new reactions. In addition, this program is expected to contribute to activate the brain areas of creativity for gifted students in the science field.

The costumes (including mask) of the first World Master series of The National Changguk Company of Korea, Achim Freyer's 'Mr. Rabbit & Dragon king' is directly designed by Achim Freyer who was in charge of direction and stage design. The new form called Pansori opera is proposed for modernization of Korean traditional opera, it maintained the original form of music yet introduced play form of opera. The costumes and stage also promoted modernistic transformation while maintaining the original Korean form. The overall concept of 'Mr. Rabbit & Dragon king' costumes emphasizes comical effect by abstractness like childlike scribble. It expressed characteristic of characters diversely through exaggeration and expansion while maintaining original form of Hanbok, used surface of costumes as a drawing board, and created flat and geometrically transformed silhouette. The complicated characters was caricatured like everyone is doing mask play by using masks, and it still maintained sophisticated oriental color with modern application of five cardinal colors. It may seems it just mixed our traditional elements like a hint of humor, however, it could be known that it introduced various techniques in it to deliver new subject while maintaining the original form of 'Mr. Rabbit & Dragon king'. From this study, open mind for our tradition and need for diverse attempt could be rediscovered and could also see the possibility to contribute on creating a Nation Brand of traditional performing art.
This study aims to identify the elements of black culture and use it to analyze the formative characteristics of casual fashion items as well as the symbolic meanings presented in the graphic designs of the items. First of all, in order to distinguish the identity of black culture, this study made a division into racial, social, and artistic aspects based on cultural specificities of Stuart Hall, a culture theorist. This was for a theoretical review and based on this review, a theoretical framework was developed to analyze the characteristics of American casual fashion design of black people. The case study selected 1719 fashion images of 137 male brands and 33 female brands from websites of companies manufacturing casual wear of black people in America. The following is a summary of the study results. The conceptual characteristics based on specificities of black culture can be categorized into ten attributes: playfulness in order to digest human grief and emotion positively, satire of the mainstream society, spontaneity through emotional expression from the heart, abstractness of various emotions elating suffering, humor trying to express negative aspects as the meaning of light and innocent laughter, dependence with passive attitudes toward discrimination and master-slave relationships in history, resistance against discrimination and disadvantages, African orientation and primitiveness pursuing natural conditions, aggressiveness against violence and unfair treatment, and confidence and defiance against social deprivation and corruption. Based on the results of an analysis through formative classification system founded on racial, social, and artistic aspects of black people, specificities of black culture are of formative characteristics of their casual fashion design. These elements are presented on graphic t-shirts through strong colors, loose silhouette, and details with many pockets. These characteristics were reflected in symbolic meanings presented in the graphic.

The purpose of this study was to find a desirable time to ask a question to effectively improve creativity as an engineering viewpoint and apply it to daily schedule as a diverse teaching method in daily schedule of young children's curriculum. Forty five young children among three kindergarten of G Metropolitan City, aged 5, were selected as a subject for this study. Type A of Thinking Creatively with pictures, TTCT was used as an instrument, and the resistant score for the lower level of elements: Fluency, Ingenuity, Originality, Abstractness of Titles, hasty conclusion. The total score of creativity was highest in the 1st-time period ($M=95.52{\pm}12.21$). As a result, it was concluded that desirable story-telling time should be after 10 a.m., the 1st-time period, to improve the highest creativity.
This study was carried out in order to explore possibility of artistic activity for strengthening creativity of the gifted children at home by analyzing influence of the gifted children's musical experience and interest level upon creativity. As a result of research, the gifted children's musical experience and interest level were distributed in the mid-lower rank as a whole. The mean in score of creativity was high. Among sub-spheres, originality, abstractness of titles, and resistance to premature closure were surveyed to be especially excellent. And the result of this study was indicated to be high in influence of musical experience and interest level upon creativity. Some conclusions and implications that were obtained through this study are as follows. First, to explore influence of musical experience as artistic activity upon creativity, first of all, the qualitative inspection needs to be given priority to musical activity itself, which is being experienced by the gifted children as the research subjects. Second, there is necessity of paying attention to the musical experience and interest level of the low gifted children. Third, for the gifted children prior to activation of art education, a clear reason why the art education is needed and the usefulness need to be presented.
Russian language tends to be quite open to borrowing. In Russian it has been for a long time the conventional way of expanding the lexicon, accepting many words from adjacent languages, including Church Slavic. In the contemporary Russian English has been the main source for loanwords. There are several linguistic factors for lexical borrowing: 1. the necessity of denominating new facts, phenomena or concepts, 2. the necessity of differentiating concepts, 3. the necessity of specializing new concepts, 4. the introduction of new international terms, 5. the increase of periphrastic expressions, 6. the needs for the more elegant and modern words. These factors have caused borrowing to enlarge the component of the lexicon and phrasal expressions, but excessive use of foreign words has brought about negative effects such as linguistic pollution. Some borrowed words are assimilated without serious conflicts, but other words undergo semantic changes in confrontation to existing words of similar meanings. These types of semantic changes comprise total change of meaning, reduction of semantic scale and extension of meaning. Semantic changes are caused by linguistic factors such as lexical conflict with existing words or by socio-culural factors such as misunderstanding of foreign words. And extension of meaning shows two types: qualitative extension and quantitative extension. The first means extending the semantic scope of a borrowed word and the latter - increasing the number of its sememe. In contemporary Russian language we can witness two productive phenomena: qualitative extension by socio-cultural factors, in which words with negative nuances are changed into those with positive ones and professional terms become common words, losing their professional meanings. On the other hand, by quantative extension some loanwords change their concrete meanings into abstract ones. In such cases loanwords acquire the additional meanings of abstractness, putting aside their original concrete meanings as the basic. On the contrary, the qualitative extension of adding the special meaning to general words or giving the concrete meaning to abstract words is not productive. And it is rarely witnessed that words of positive nuances are negatively used. It is considered that such cases are partly restricted in the spoken language or the jargon. Such phenomena may happen by the incomplete understanding of English words.
