흡수에 따른 탄소섬유 강화수지의 파괴거동 (Fracture Behavior for Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic by Immersion)

  • Recently carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP) has been used structural materials in corrosive environment such as for water, chemical tank and chemical pipes. However, mechanical properties of such materials may change when CFRP are exposed to corrosive environment for long periods of time. Therefore, it is important to understand the effect of moisture absorption on mechanical properties of the CFRP. In this study, degradation behavior of immersed carbon fiber/epoxy resin composite material was investigated using acoustic emission(AE) technique. Fracture toughness test are performed on the compact tension(CT) test specimens that are pilled by two types of laminates $[0^{\circ}_2$/$90^{\circ}_2]_3s$ and $[0^{\circ}_2$/$90^{\circ}_2]_6s$During the fracture toughness test, AE test was carried out to monitor the damage of CFRP by moisture absorption. In spite of the change of moisture absorption rate, the fracture toughness of CFRP was not change. As immersion time increased, AE event count numbers decreased in low amplitude range of AE for amplitude distribution histogram. The event in low amplitude range was known to be generated by debonding of matrix-fiber interface. Therefore, decrease of AE event count numbers in low amplitude range represents that debonding of matrix-fiber interface which was probably generated by moisture absorption.

A Proposal on Evaluation Method of Neutron Absorption Performance to Substitute Conventional Neutron Attenuation Test

  • Background: For a verification of newly-developed neutron absorbers, one of guidelines on the qualification and acceptance of neutron absorbers is the neutron attenuation test. However, this approach can cause a problem for the qualifications that it cannot distinguish how the neutron attenuates from materials. Materials and Methods: In this study, an estimation method of neutron absorption performances for materials is proposed to detect both direct penetration and back-scattering neutrons. For the verification of the proposed method, MCNP simulations with the experimental system designed in this study were pursued using the polyethylene, iron, normal glass and the vitrified form. Results and Discussion: The results show that it can easily test neutron absorption ability using single absorber model. Also, from simulation results of single absorber and double absorbers model, it is verified that the proposed method can evaluate not only the direct thermal neutrons passing through materials, but also the scattered neutrons reflected to the materials. Therefore, the neutron absorption performances can be accurately estimated using the proposed method comparing with the conventional neutron attenuation test. Conclusion: It is expected that the proposed method can contribute to increase the reliability of the performance of neutron absorbers.

레이저 흡수 분광법을 사용한 좁은 시험 구간 내 공기 밀도 측정 (Air Density Measurement in a Narrow Test Section Using a Laser Absorption Spectroscopy)

  • 본 연구에서는 산소의 흡수선을 검출하는 레이저 흡수 분광 시스템을 사용하여 좁은 시험 구간 내의 공기 밀도가 측정되었다. 13156.28과 13156.62 cm-1에 존재하는 산소의 흡수선 한 쌍이 측정되었다. 높이 40 mm를 가지는 기체 챔버가 좁은 시험 구간으로 사용되었다. 레이저 진행 경로를 확장하여 흡수 세기를 증폭시키기 위해 삼각 나선 형태의 레이저 광경로가 기체 챔버 내에 구성되었다. 잘 알려진 로그 증폭기와 2차 증폭기를 사용하여 흡수선 신호를 전기적으로 증폭하였다. 로그 증폭기 이후 신호 포화 방지 및 노이즈 억제를 위해 AC 커플링이 적용되었다. 로그 증폭기 회로구성을 고려하여 출력 신호로부터 파수별 흡광도를 계산하는 과정이 소개되었다. 이론적으로 계산된 파수별 흡광도를 실험적으로 측정된 파수별 흡광도에 선 맞춤하여 공기의 밀도가 측정되었다. 부르돈 압력계를 사용하여 기체 챔버 내에 상온과 10~100 kPa 범위 내에서 다양한 압력을 가지는 시험 조건들이 만들어졌다. 삼각 나선 형태의 광경로 및 로그 증폭기를 사용한 흡수 신호 증폭을 통해, 16 %의 오차 이내에서 좁은 시험 구간의 공기 밀도가 측정될 수 있음이 확인되었다.

의자 흡음특성에 영향을 미치는 인자에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Investigation of Factors Influencing Chair Absorption Characteristics)

  • 본 논문은 공연장에서 의자 설치 조건의 변화가 의자의 흡음특성에 미치는 영향에 관하여 실험적인 연구를 실시하였다. 실제 공연장 의자의 흡음특성을 재현한 1/10 스케일의 축소 의자와 인체모형을 이용하여 실험을 진행하였다. 실험변수로는 의자의 흡음정도, 의자 열 간격의 변화, 청중의 착석유무, 그리고 바닥의 카펫설치 유무로 제한하였다. 열 간격에 따른 청중의 착석 및 바닥의 카펫설치 유무의 영향을 평균적으로 분석하였을 때 의자의 흡음률이 낮을수록 즉, 카펫 혹은 청중 등의 부가적인 흡음력이 없을 때, 열 간격에 의한 흡음률 변화폭이 작게 나타났다. 의자 열 간격 평균 주파수 대역별 흡음률 증가 값에 따르면 주변 인자에 의한 흡음률의 변화는 주파수대역별로 다르게 나타났다.

고무댐에 적용하기 위한 유리섬유보강 복합재료 클랩핑 플레이트의 내구 특성 (Durability Characteristics of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite Clapping Plates for Application of Rubber Dam)

  • Steel clapping plate is used to connecting rubber body in rubber dam. However, once the steel clapping plate corrodes, it may cause faults, such as the same problems experienced by typical reinforcing steel. This study evaluated the applicability of glass fiber reinforced polymer composite(GFRP) clapping plate as a substitute for steel clapping plate. Absorption and load test were conducted to evaluate the decrease in durability of GFRP clapping plate exposed to deterioration environments. In the durability test results, the absorption rate of GFRP clapping plate was appeared as 0.6~1.0% in 50 day of immersion time. Also, the fracture load decreased with accelerated degradation environment exposure. Moreover, the absorption rate in GFRP clapping plate increased as degradation progressed, reducing the fracture load.

관내법 시험시 Air-Damping이 흡음률에 미치는 영향 고찰 (Investigation on the Effects of Air-Damping on the Sound Absorption Coefficients Measured in the Tube)

  • This paper raises issues in testing the absorption coefficients of sound-absorptive samples in the standing wave tube according to the Korean standard of KS F 2814. The code does not consider any effect of air-damping during test. This limitation has been shown to yield much variation of sound absorption coefficients for recent sample tests whose coefficients are less than 10 %. An improved method of calculating the sound absorption coefficients is proposed in this work and its effectiveness in real test is also illustrated. Finally, the guide line for the modification of our national standard code KS F 2814 is suggested for the future.

알루미늄/GFRP 혼성튜브의 굽힘붕괴 특성 (The characteristics of bending collapse of aluminum/GFRP hybrid tube)

  • Square tubes used for vehicle structure components have an important role on keeping its stiffness and preserving occupant safety in vehicle collision and rollover in which it experience axial collapse, bending collapse or both. Bending collapse, which absorbs kinetic energy of the impact and retains a survival space for the occupant, is a dominant failure mode in oblique collision and rollover. Thus, in this paper, the bending collapse characteristics such as the maximum bending moment and energy absorption capacity of the square tube replaced by light-weight material were evaluated and presented. The bending test of cantilever tubes which were fabricated with aluminum, GFRP and aluminum/ GFRP hybrid by co-curing process was performed. Then the maximum bending moment and the energy absorption capacity from the moment-angle curve were evaluated. Based on the test results, it was found that aluminum/ GFRP hybrid tube can show better specific energy absorption capacity compared to the pure aluminum or GFRP tube and can convert unstable collapse mode which may occur in pure GFRP tube to stable collapse mode like a aluminum tube in which plastic hinge is developed.

항암제 취급간호사의 항암제 체내흡수에 관한 조사 (Biological Monitoring on the Absorption of Antineoplastic Drugs in Nursing Personnel)

  • Antineoplastic agents may exhibit effects not only in patients therapeutically exposed, but also in health workers who prepare and administer these drugs. This study was done to clarify whether nurses who handle anticancer drugs show signs of drug absorption. The experimental group was 14 nurses handling anticancer drugs at three medical wards of a hospital in J city ; the control group was 12 psychiatric nurses at the same hospital. The test materials were the nurses' 24hr urine specimens, which were concentrated by XAD-2 column chromatograpy. Tester strains were TA98(±S9mix), TA100(±S9 mix), TA1535(±S9 mix) and TA1537(±S9 mix) : the salmonella mammalian microsomal test (Ames test) was used for the urinary mutagenicity assay. The results are summarized as follow : 1. In qualitative analysis of the results, both experimental group and control group showed 15.4% urine toxicity. 2. The experimental group revealed significantly higher urinary mutagenicity both in the activation method test and non-activation method test of the tester strains TA98, TA100 and TA1535. In the case of TA1537, the two groups showed no difference in the non-activation method test, but the activation method revealed a difference. 3. In urinary mutagenicity of the experimental group by ward career, there was a significant difference between the group with more than 20 months experience and the group with less than 20 months on the tester strains TA98, TA100, and TA1537. No Significant difference was found between two groups by the tester strain TA1535.

인삼 성분이 Ethanol의 장관내 흡수에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ginseng on the Intestinal Absorption of Ethanol)

  • The effect of ginseng butanol fraction (total sponin) on the absorption rate of ethanol in rat intestine was examined. Ginseng butanol fraction showed inhibitory effect on the intestinal absorption of ethanol in situ as well as in vitro test. Ginseng butanol fraction markedly decreased the ethanol blood level, delayed onset time of ethanol effect and shortened sleeping time when it was adminstered orally together with ethanol. These results suggest that ginseng may alter the ethanol blood level by decreasing the intestinal absorption of ethanol.

  • It is reported that the life of generator stator windings is expected about 30 years and a leak and water absorption phenomena can be progressed by fatigue, vibration, and corrosion. The water-cooled generator stator windings which were operated over 15 years are over 20 units and the mechanical problems such as leak and water absorption were found in the generator stator windings. In this paper, the systematic mechanical integrity evaluation methods which are applied to the water-cooled generator stator windings within the country are introduced.
