Thermal Stresses near the Edge in a Clad (클래딩 자유단의 열응력 해석)

  • Based on the principle of complementary energy, an analytical method is developed which focused on the end effects for determining thermal stress distributions in the clad beam. This method gives the stress distributions which completely satisfy the stress-free boundary condition at the edge. Numerical results shows that shear and peeling stress at the interface between the substrate and clad are significant near the edge and become negligible in the interior region. Even thought the relative location where the maximum or minimum stresses take place moves to interior as the length of the beam becomes smaller, the absolute location from the free end and the value of these stresses are the same in spite of the variation of the length of beam.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy data fusion scheme which can analyze the sensor condition, the strength and location of a force applied to a test material. These can be realized by the modelling and fusioning of sensor signals and sensor properties. The technique uses, as the inference variables, relative magnitude of data (RMD), absolute magnitude of data (AMD) initial state (IS), synchronized relational function (SRF) and asynchronized relational function (ARF). To show the usefulness of this scheme, an experiment on the cantilever bar and six strain gages is carried out. The location of the force is inferred from SRF and ARF and the strength from RMD and AMD. In particular, the strength is compared with the measurement data of the force sensor.

  • In this study, the leak detection technique of pressure vessel by using acoustic emission(AE) signal is suggested experimentally. The leak of pressure vessel is located at the welding line due to welding defects. we measured the AE signal using Rl5I sensor, and examined the AE parameters in leak condition. It is investigated that the mean value of AE signal is dependent on leak source location. So the absolute mean value of AE signal is adopted as dominant AE parameter. We proposed leak detection algorithm using AE signal mean value for monitoring the leak source location.

  • A key component for autonomous mobile robot is to localize ifself. In this paper we suggest a vision-based localization and compensation of robot's location using ultrasound. Mobile robot travels along wall and searches each feature in indoor environment and transformed absolute coordinates of actuality environment using these points and builds a map. And we obtain information of the environment because mobile robot travels along wall. Localzation search robot's location candidate point by ultrasound and decide position among candidate point by features matching.

Adaptive M-estimation in Regression Model

  • In this paper we introduce some adaptive M-estimators using selector statistics to estimate the slope of regression model under the symmetric and continuous underlying error distributions. This selector statistics is based on the residuals after the preliminary fit L$_1$ (least absolute estimator) and the idea of Hogg(1983) and Hogg et. al. (1988) who used averages of some order statistics to discriminate underlying symmetric distributions in the location model. If we use L$_1$ as a preliminary fit to get residuals, we find the asymptotic distribution of sample quantiles of residual are slightly different from that of sample quantiles in the location model. If we use the functions of sample quantiles of residuals as selector statistics, we find the suitable quantile points of residual based on maximizing the asymptotic distance index to discriminate distributions under consideration. In Monte Carlo study, this adaptive M-estimation method using selector statistics works pretty good in wide range of underlying error distributions.

  • In this research, we developed a system, which can find the location of vehicle when people park their cars in a big parking lot or large area. People can find their cars readily through this simple device and they can save their time and effort. This is the purpose of this research. Performing this, detection of electromagnetic wave's direction is needed and we used shielding effectiveness of electromagnetic waves for the method of it. An absolute coordinate indicates four directions (E, W, S, N) by using an electronic compass module, and it is needed for the localization. The device can check the received count of the electromagnetic waves coming from all other directions through the system, which is installed in the vehicle. The direction recorded the least received count would be the location of the parked vehicles. We can add on the function of this research by using the same frequency of cars alarm goods. Also, it is useful in the huge indoor parking lot.

  • Most of the previous game development has proceeded in the approaches of the temporal-oriented synchronization because of producing game objects by using general authoring tools, and ad hoc or trial and error methods has been devised for representation of spatial concept. This paper is a study on the unification notation for spatio-temporal synchronization to conquest this fault. First of all, we classify game space as temporal object, spatial object, absolute/relative spatio-temporal space. The spatio-temporal relationships are divided into temporal extent, temporal location, spatial extent, and spatial location. In the paper the temporal and spatial relationships of game scene are defined to represent the synchronization, and we propose new unification notation by temporal and spatial concept to represent two concepts putting emphasis on space. Their relationships are presented on 3D by creating time axis related with time in scene unit of the two dimensional plane in the pivot on space. The usability of this representation method are shown by applying examples of game scenario.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks have been proposed for several location-dependent applications. For such systems, the cost and limitations of the hardware on sensing nodes prevent the use of range-based localization schemes that depend on absolute point to point distance estimates. Because coarse accuracy is sufficient for most sensor network applications, solutions in range-free localization are being pursued as a cost-effective alternative to more expensive range-based approaches. In this paper, we proposed a Coefficient Allocated DV-Hop (CA DV-Hop) algorithm which reduces node's location error by awarding a credit value with respect to number of hops of each anchor to an unknown node. Simulation results have verified the high estimation accuracy with our approach which outperforms the classical DV-Hop.
