  • Using the constructive algorithm proposed by Brayton and Tong, we analyze the stability of a modified coupled-form digital filter with quantization and overflow nonlinearities, and find the regions in the parameter plane where the filter is globally asymptotically stable. In these regions, the absence of zero-input limit cycles is ensured. This constructive algorithm gives less conservative stability results than the application of Jury-Lee stability criterion does.

  • Siting criteria for nuclear power plants require that faults be characterized as to their potential for generating earthquakes, or that the absence of the potential for these occurrences be demonstrated. Because the definition of active faults in Korea has been applied by the deterministic method, which depends on the numerical age of fault movement, the possibility of inherent uncertainties exists in determining the maximum earthquake from the fault sources for seismic design. In an attempt to overcome these problems this study suggests new criteria and a probabilistic quantitative diagnostic procedure that could estimate whether a fault is capable of generating earthquakes in the near future.

  • Six of scaled concrete circular columns were experimentally investigated for the contribution of arch action to the column lateral resistance. For this the specimens with the variation of tranverse hoop steel spacing were tested in absence of axial loading All specimens showed the flexure governing behavior pattern irrelevant to transverse hoop spacing. This indicates that the role of arch action should be understood as the intermediate mechanism causing the interaction between shear and flexural mechanisms A simple truss model was proposed to qualitatively explain this notation but further study is needed to advance its application to general columns.

  • Stable and non-hygroscopic polystyrene supported aluminium triflate (Ps-$Al(OTf)_3$), which is prepared easily from cheap and commercially available compounds was found to be an environmentally friendly heterogeneous catalyst for Friedel-Crafts acylation of arenes using acid chlorides in the absence of solvent under mild reaction conditions. The catalyst can be reused up to five times after simple washing with dichloromethane.

  • Mutations in the factor Ⅴ gene are major risk markers for venous thrombosis. Several factors for blood coagulation have been related with cardiovascular disease. Ⅰ investigated genotype distribution for three mutations (G1691 A, A2379G and G2391 A) of the factor Ⅴ gene in the Korean population. Genotype frequencies were examined by polymerase chain reaction in 135 patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and 116 healthy subjects. For the G1691A mutation (factor Ⅴ

  • The inflow of Ca$\^$2+/ through voltage-activated T-type calcium channels (T-channels) regulates a variety of cellular functions including neuronal excitability, cardiac pacemaker activity, hormone secretion, smooth muscle contraction, and fertilization. Not only are T-channels enormously important for the normal operation of cells, they also playa critical role in pathophysiological conditions such as cardiac hypertrophy and absence epilepsy.(omitted)

  • Covalent binding of the reactive metabolites of SC_42867 to microsomal proteins has been examined. In the absence of inhibitor of cytochrome oxydase (.alpha.-naphtyl-isothiocyanate) or a radical scavenger (3-terthiobuty-4-hydroxyanisol), up to 4.0% of total redioactivity used in the assay could irreversibly bind to proteins. In the presence of an inhibitor, the highest percentage of covalent binding observed is 0.7% a significant decrease of the metabolism of SC42876 was observed. These results suggest in a cytochrome P-450 dependent generation of SC_42867 metabolites significantly take part in the covalent binding process.

  • Rolling Stock life cycle can not provide weakness of environment due to the absence DB on about environment information for contaminant, expense analysis on each step which consists of raw material-design-manufacture-running-waste step. In order to estimate environmental impacts on LCA for rolling stock system, scientifically and internationally fair standards of assessment method for pursuing environmental friendly in environment regulation policy, application of LCA system is proposed and introduced in the present paper.

  • This Research analyzed with itinerary tracking : two of each other shopping sites were selected as research point. Analyzing the result, pedestrian path choice is affected by direction of escalator, visual information of the object, plain form of passage, presence and absence of companion and proportion of spatial knowledge from experience. The factors affecting pedestrian path choice are divided into two groups which are the effects from the environment, and personal characteristics.
