A lot of submerged tunnels which cross revers and channels have been constructed in the USA, European countries and Japan. It is very important to consider anti-seismicity of the tunnels when they are located in active seismic zone. Fortunately, the submerged tunnels have never been damaged by earthquakes, however a umber off surveys and experiments to examine the anti-seismicity of the submerged tunnels have been carried out from various points of view. the dynamic characteristics of the submerged tunnels which are buried in the ground and have long total length from that of the structures above ground. 'Specificitions of Earthquake Resistant Desion of Submerged Tunnels' was established by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers in 1975. These specifications greatly promote the construction of the submerged tunnels. In this technical paper, the outline of the construction and a few methods of earthquake resistant designs for the tunnels: earthquakes observations, indoor experiments by shaking table, and numerical analysis by computer are also mentioned.

Marine analysis was made to investigate the hydrodynamic effects of a Wing in Ground (WIG) by means of finite difference techniques. The air flow field around WIG is analyzed by the Marker & Cell (MAC) based method, and the interaction between WIG and the free surface are studied by showing pressure distributions above the free surface. In the latter part, computations are extended to make clear the flow characteristics of a high speed catamaran in the rang of Froude numbers 0.2 to 1.0 with a separation to length ratios of 0.2, 0.3 and 0.5. The Navier-Stokes solver is invoked in which the nonlinear free-surface boundary condition is applied. For the validation, computational results are compared with the experiments.
Stem and root of Lindera erythrocarpa were described and compared in the wood anatomical aspects. Root wood appeared to differ from stem wood in the qualitative features of growth ring boundary, extraneous materials in vessel element and ray parenchyma cell, outline of ray, and sheath cell. In the quantitative features, there were differences between these two tissues in vessels per square millimeter, tangential diameter of vessel lumina, length of vessel element, and width of ray. These wood anatomical differences between stem above ground and root below ground were thought to be attributed to their different growth environments.

Fluid Confirmation Tests(FCT) on 1500 ground Anchors install in weathered rock were carried out to investigate upper and lower limit of elastic elongation, frictional resistant of fixed anchor body, mobilized angle between anchor body and soil. All the measured data were analysed and compared with theoretical equations. The frictional angles of diaphragm wall and anchorage system in weathered rock showed nonlinear curve between upper and lower limit of standard elongation. The FCT results indicated that the frictional resistant angles increased with higher values of surcharge load. The quality assurance on the fixed anchor location was investigated by means of measuring elastic elongation during the FCT, and comparing these with theoretical design length, the quality of anchors in this particular site found to be above average standard. The results of this research works with provide valuable guide line on quality assurance of anchors system as well as resonable prediction of friction resistance between the fixed anchor body and the weathered rock.

In this paper, an inverted-pendulum model consisting of a point supported by spring limbs with roller feet is adopted to simulate human walking load. To establish the kinematic motion of first and second single and double support phases, the Lagrangian variation method was used. Given a set of model parameters, desired walking speed and initial states, the Newmark-${\beta}$ method was used to solve the above kinematic motion for studying the effects of roller radius, stiffness, impact angle, walking speed, and step length on the ground reaction force, energy transfer, and height of center of mass transfer. The numerical simulation results show that the inverted-pendulum model for walking is conservative as there is no change in total energy and the duration time of double support phase is 50-70% of total time. Based on the numerical analysis, a dynamic load factor ${\alpha}_{wi}$ is proposed for the traditional walking load model.

To evaluate the suitability of the Weaponeering tool for the Surface to Surface Guided Missile at the Above-Ground Buildings, we analyzed the relation among SSPD, $MAE_{bldg}$, CEP and the number of missiles, expected damage etc.. According to the analysis, if the target Length is 100m, and $\sqrt{MAE_{bldg}}$ is longer than the target length, the tool is suitable but shorter than it, the tool is not suitable. So Morris Driels's Weaponeering Tool needs new adaptive algorithm to Translate as the Target size and $MAE_{bldg}$.

The effect of bio-fertilizer, which was manufactured poultry manure, on the fall performance of Korean lawngrass was determined on a clay loam soil. Plant length was characterized by increasing the amount of bio-fertilizer applied. This trend was also true in dry matter yield of tops during the experimental period from August 31 through October 30. Both tiller numbers and stolon length steadily increased with increasing amount of bio-fertilizer applied, and 40m/t application of bio-fertilizer was found to be most effective on both components. performance shown on November 5 was prominent for both green leaf and root weights when the increased amount of bio-fertilizer was applied. Korean lawngrass had three times as much green leaf weight with 40m/t application of bio-fertilizer as with other treatments. Several functions of increment of above- ground part components caused by increasing root weight, which is greatly affected by bio-fertilizer application, was discussed. Turf quality was much improved by applying bio-fertilizer, indicating that this fertilizer might play an improtant role in respect of soil structure, water retention etc.
Growth patterns after the cutting and burning of Miscanthus sacchariflorus community were analyzed in the Woopo Wetland. Three replicates of 5 ${\times}$ 5 m plot of control, burning, and cutting treatments were established in April 2003 and changes of growth pattern were monitored by August 2003. In the control, burning, and cutting plots, a total of 7 families and 8 species, 14 families and 18 species, 6 families and 8species were observed respectively. Burning plot showed high diversity of flora. However, high diversity declined after July and all plots showed a similar species diversity. Vine plant, Humulus japonicus, dominated in the burning plots. Change of shoot density was highest in the early period in the burning plots (176/$m^2$) and shoot density in early May was almost double of the control and cutting plots. Toward to the end of active growth period (August), shoot density in cutting plot (170 ${\pm}\;7/m^2$)was higher than that of burning plots (141 ${\pm}\;9/m^2$). Shoot length of the cutting, burning, and control plot was 205 ${\pm}$ 15 cm, 190 ${\pm}$ 17 cm, and 187 ${\pm}$ 6 cm (n> 100) respectively. Above- ground biomass of cutting plots was higher than that of burning and control plots. Above- ground biomass of cutting plot was 1.6 times higher than the control while burning plot showed 1.4 times. This study indicted that cutting of Miscanthus sacchariflorus community increase shoot density development, length growth, and above- ground biomass.
