  • In this paper, we analyze self field effects of Bi-2223 tape-stacked cable assuming constant current density in the cross section of stacked cable. Generally, the critical current of Bi-2223 tape-stacked-cable in much less than the total summation of critical currents of each tape, which is mainly due to the self magnetic fields of the cable itself. Therefore, to predict the critical current of Bi-2223 tape-stacked-cable, we needs to analyze the self filed effects on the stacked cable as well as critical current density data(J$\_$C/) of one tape. To make it more complex, the critical current degradation of Bi-2223 tape is an-isotropic; the critical current is lower in the normal magnetic field(to the tape surface) than in the parallel field. In the paper, a novel approach to predict the critical current of a Bi-2223 tape-stacked-cable from a J$\_$C/-B curve of one tape is presented with the assumption of constant current density across the stacked cable, The approach basically includes the load analysis of the stacked tapes, and its usefulness is confirmed by the experimental data.

  • The substituent dependence of geometric distortion through the two independent electronic substituent effects is analyzed for mono-substituted benzene derivatives of $C_{2v}$. Based on resonance structures, quantitative relationships expressing the resonance and field/inductive contribution terms in bond distortions are derived. The calculated field-effect parts of $C_{ipso}$_$C_{ortho}$ ring bonds increase and decrease compared to benzene for electropositive and electronegative substituents respectively. The nonbonded axial distance, $C_{ipso}$....$C_{para'}$ decreases for electronegative substituents and increases for electropositive substituents. As the electronegativity increases, the distance $C_{ortho}$....$C_{ortho'}$ increases. With the $\pi$-donors, $C_{meta}$....$C_{meta'}$ nonbonded distances are shorter compared to the ones of benzene, and for $\pi$-acceptors, the are longer. Our model based on valence bond approach predicts that the average bond length determined the area of ring, and the sum of the angles <$C_{ortho}$_$C_{ispo}$_$C_{ortho}$ and <$C_{meta}$_$C_{para}$_$C_{meta}$ determines the axial distance.

  • This paper proposes a method to drive an AC plasma display panel(PDP) with a significantly improved contrast ratio. In the proposed method, during the first sub-field of one frame, all PDP cells are reset by the ramp waveform, and during the other sub-field, only the cells turned on in the previous sub-field are reset. No light is emitted during the reset period of every sub-field except the first sub-field. For a 10-bit picture, the luminance of the dark level for the proposed method is 10 times lower than that for the conventional method, in which the ramp waveform for the reset is used in every sub-field. Accordingly, the contrast ratio for the proposed method is 10 times higher than that for the conventional method. For the 10-bit picture, the measured contrast ratio was about 3080:1 for the proposed method and about 285:1 with the conventional method, a result the contrast ratio has been increased in 10.8 times. This result shows that the proposed method can realize an image with high contrast ratio.

  • S $r_{0.89}$B $i_{2.4}$T $a_2$ $O_{9}$ (SBT) thin films are deposited on Pt-coated electrode(Pt/Ti $O_2$/ $SiO_2$/Si) using RF magnetron sputtering method. In the XRD pattern, the SBT thin films had (105) orientation. As annealing temperature was increased from $600^{\circ}C$ to 85$0^{\circ}C$, the intensities of peak were increased. In the SEM images, Bi-layered perovskite phase was crystallized above $650^{\circ}C$ and rod-like grains grew above 75$0^{\circ}C$. The maximum remanent polarization and the coercive electric field at annealing temperature of 75$0^{\circ}C$ are 11.60$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and 48kV/cm respectively. The dielectric constant and leakage current density at annealing temperature of 75$0^{\circ}C$ are 213 and 1.01x10$^{-8}$ A/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. The fatigue characteristics of SBT thin filmsdid not change up to 10$^{10}$ switching cycles.s.s.

  • In this paper, the analysis of the electric field in the chamber of high voltage $SF_6$ GCB(Gas Circuit Breaker) is presented by using C-1 FEM. For this purpose, pre-processing program and post-processing program were developed for axisymmetirc 3 dimensional analysis and the electric field in cylindric chamber was analyzed. Important problem is that electric analysis must be considered coronal due to break-down of $SF_6$ when it is cutted off. To solve this problem, a procedure is needed to verify that the solution of Poisson's equation for scalar potential satisfy charge continuos condition because of using first order element os not satisfy the electric continuous condition, C-1 FEM is introduce to obtain electirc potential and electric field at the same time. Analysis of the distribution of electric field on model was done. It is confirmed that the developed program in this paper applicable to design and to analyze of characteristics in total program as electric characteristics analysis routine.

  • These brief studies and reports of the use of exposed aggrigate precast concrete in practice are combined with a description of some notable co-ordination such as shop drawing, manufacturing and erection in the field construction. Above mentioned exposed aggrigate P. C. means architectural P. C. which was used to the VOTRAKON site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fabricated P. C. on the site without autoclaving and steam curing plant had been successfully carried out on this project-core building, conference room and others. The project designed by HOPE/VTN international INC. which is located in San Diego, California U.S.A. stands for vocational training and related support facilities contract. We had to submit shop drawings showing complete information for fabrication and installation of P. C. unit reinforcement. Also we should be indicated member dimension and cross section, location size and type of necessary for erection. We can delineate the following characteristic results. One of the most important things how to handle exposed aggrigate P.C. unit as specified was quality assurance and co-ordination for shop drawing, manufacturing and erection.

  • We have developed an alternating magnetic field stimulation system consisting of a switched-mode power supply and a digital control circuit which modulates a duty ratio to maintain a magnetic field intensity of a few mT even while the frequency increases up to 4 kHz with a controllable coil temperature below $30^{\circ}C$ in air. This duty ratio modulation and water circulation are advantageous for cell culture under ac-magnetic field stimulation by preventing the incubator from exceeding a cell-viable temperature of $37^{\circ}C$. Although the temperature of the coil when subjected to a sinusoidal voltage rapidly increased, that of our system modulated by the duty factor did not change. This is a potentially valuable method to investigate the effects of intermediate frequency magnetic field stimulation on biological entities such as cells, tissues and organs.

  • This study aimed to compare the bioactive compounds in Centella asiatica (C. asiatica) cultivated in a smart farm and a field and their effects on human keratinocyte cells. C. asiatica was collected in Jeju-do, Korea, and cultured in a smart farm and a field. The main bioactive compounds in the two differentially cultured C. asiatica were identified, and their activation in keratinocytes were assessed. Amplification and sequencing of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) DNA in the nucleus and psbA-H DNA in the chloroplast were performed for species analysis. A comparison of DNA of plants reported in the NCBI GenBank was performed. The ITS DNA and psbA-H DNA sequences of C. asiatica cultivated in a smart farm and a field were consistent with No. MH768338.1 and No. JQ425422.1, respectively. Analysis of the triterpenes was performed using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and as a result, C. asiatica cultured in a smart farm had more triterpenes than those cultured in a field. The effects of C. asiatica grown in a smart farm on cell proliferation and scratch recovery in HaCaT cells were greater than those grown in a field. These results suggest that C. asiatica cultivated in a smart farm can be effectively utilized as a health functional food.

  • Nowadays, the increasing global competition forces manufacturer to reduce the cost and time for implementation of manufacturing system. The AR(augmented reality) technology as a new human-machine interface introduces a noteworthy perspective for a new manufacturing system design. Using AR technology, a physically existing production environment can be superimposed with virtual planning objects. Therefore, the planning tasks can be validated without modeling the surrounding environment of the production domain during short process planning time. In this paper, we introduce the construction of AR browser and determine the optimal environment parameters for field application of AR system through lots of tests. And, many methods such as multi-marker coordinate system, division of virtual objects and so on, are proposed in order to solve the problems suggested from initial field test. Based on these tests and results, the test-bed of C/Pad assembly system is configured and robot program for C/Pad assembly is generated based on AR system.

  • We suggest a method to configure feature functions of continuous conditional random field (C-CRF). Regression tree and similarity analysis are introduced to construct the first and second feature functions of C-CRF, respectively. Rules from the regression tree are transformed to logic functions. If a logic in the set of rules is true for a data then it returns the corresponding value of leaf node and zero, otherwise. We build an Euclidean similarity matrix to define neighborhood, which constitute the second feature function. Using two feature functions, we make a C-CRF model and an illustrate example is provided.
