Modified Finite Control Set-Model Predictive Controller (MFCS-MPC) for quasi Z-Source Inverters based on a Current Observer

  • The Finite Control Set-Model Predictive Controller (FCS-MPC) for quasi Z-Source Inverters (qZSIs) is designed to reduce the number of sensors by proposing a current observer for the inductor current. Unlike the traditional FCS-MPC algorithm, the proposed model removes the inductor current sensor and observes the inductor current value based on the deposited prior optimized state as well as the capacitor voltage during this state. The proposed observer has been validated versus a typical MPC. Then, a comparative study between the proposed Modified Finite Control Set-Model Predictive Controller (MFCS-MPC) and a linear PID controller is provided under the same operating conditions. This study demonstrates that the dynamic response of the control objectives by MFCS-MPC is faster than that of the PID. On the other hand, the PID controller has a lower Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) when compared to the MFCS-MPC at the same average switching. Experimental results validate both methods using a DSP F28335.

  • Construction industry, which is a composite industry being performed by organic combination of various tasks, gives birth to a various of information in the stages of planning, designing, and maintenance management. In particular, the drawing information is broad in the scope of use because it contains all information about buildings as wall as bid, materials, contracts. Therefore, the management of drawing information security is one of the most important factors, which determines the success of failure of business. The major findings and result of this study are as follows to control the distributed drawing information in the collaboration environment. 1) Analysis for function and practical use of DRM in the construction industry. 2) Proposal for applications of DRM that can secure IFC model-based drawing information in the collaboration environment. 3) Extraction from additional IFC entities to apply DRM to part 21 physical files 4) Analysis for functions which are necessary in DRM application prototype system and development of the system. 5) Development IFC model-based DRM prototype system.

ARCS모형에 근거하여 실습을 병행한 미생물학수업이 간호대학생의 학습동기에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Nursing Students' Learning Motivation in Microbiology Lecture involved in Laboratory Based on the ARCS Model)

  • The purpose of this study was tried to identify the effect of nursing students' learning motivation in microbiology through microbiology laboratory practice based on the Keller's ARCS model. In order to achieve this research, this study was designed a quasi-experimental pre-post tests control group. Experimental group received a microbiology theory and practice based on ARCS model and control group received microbiology theory only. To identify the microbiology learning motivation effect to nursing student, we measured learning motivation by Keller's ARCS model that consisted of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. The major results of the experimental group showed significantly higher level of total learning motivation and all four subcategories compared to control group. Based upon the above results, microbiology laboratory practice might be beneficial for the nursing students to motivate microbiology learning.

Multi-system vehicle formation control based on nearest neighbor trajectory optimization

  • In the present study, a novel optimization method in formation control of multi -system vehicles based on the trajectory of the nearest neighbor trajectory is presented. In this regard, the state equations of each vehicle and multisystem is derived and the optimization scheme based on minimizing the differences between actual positions and desired positions of the vehicles are conducted. This formation control is a position-based decentralized model. The trajectory of the nearest neighbor are optimized based on the current position and state of the vehicle. This approach aids the whole multi-agent system to be optimized on their trajectory. Furthermore, to overcome the cumulative errors and maintain stability in the network a semi-centralized scheme is designed for the purpose of checking vehicle position to its predefined trajectory. The model is implemented in Matlab software and the results for different initial state and different trajectory definition are presented. In addition, to avoid collision avoidance and maintain the distances between vehicles agents at a predefined desired distances. In this regard, a neural fuzzy network is defined to be utilized in conjunction with the control system to avoid collision between vehicles. The outcome reveals that the model has acceptable stability and accuracy.

발전소 시뮬레이터를 위한 고압 터빈 바이패스 압력 제어 모델 개발 (Development of a High Pressure Turbine Bypass System Pressure Control Model for Power Plant Simulator)

  • 국산 개발 분산 제어시스템의 발전 설비에의 적용을 위해서는 시뮬레이터를 이용한 제어 시스템의 기능 및 신뢰성 등의 검증이 선행되어야만 한다. 본 논문에서는 제어 시스템 검증용 시뮬레이터를 개발하는데 있어서, 제어 모델 중 발전소 기동 초기에 보일러 압력을 조절하고, 정상 운전 중 보일러의 과대 압력 상승을 방지하기 위해 보일러에서 발생한 증기를 복수기로 방출하는 터빈 바이패스 계통의 제어 모델을 개발하였다. 제어 모델 개발을 위해, 통합 시뮬레이션 개발 환경에서 활용가능한 제어 로직 구현 툴을 개발하였다. 또한 개발한 툴의 기능은 개별 기능 블럭의 설계 사양에 기반한 시뮬레이션에 의해 검증을 하였으며, 개발한 툴을 이용하여 고압 터빈 바이패스 계통의 압력 제어 로직을 구현하였다. 500 MW급 표준 석탄화력 발전소 공정 모델과 보일러 제어 모델, 터빈 제어 모델 등 타 계통의 제어 모델과의 연계를 통한 통합 시뮬레이션을 통해 개발한 제어 모델의 효용성을 확인하였다.

  • This paper describes a 3-DOF attitude control of a small model helicopter in hover through explicit decoupling and adaptive control scheme. A model helicopter mounted on gimbal-stand is considered as a system that has 3 independent SISO systems representing motions about roll, pitch and yaw axis and these subsystems are identified from the test flight data. In this consideration, the contribution of others to yaw channel is neglected since it is relatively small. Two PID controllers based on Ziegler-Nichols method are designed for roll pitch channels independently. Side Slip Angle Based Control Threshold of Vehicle Stability Control System

  • Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system prevents vehicle from spinning or drifting out mainly by braking intervention. Although a control threshold of conventional VSC is designed by vehicle characteristics and centered on average drivers, it can be a redundancy to expert drivers in critical driving conditions. In this study, a manual adaptation of VSC is investigated by changing the control threshold. A control threshold can be determined by phase plane analysis of side slip angle and angular velocity which is established with various vehicle speeds and steering angles. Since vehicle side slip angle is impossible to be obtained by commercially available sensors, a side slip angle is designed and evaluated with test results. By using the estimated value, phase plane analysis is applied to determine control threshold. To evaluate an effect of control threshold, we applied a 23-DOF vehicle nonlinear model with a vehicle planar motion model based sliding controller. Controller gains are tuned as the control threshold changed. A VSC with various control thresholds makes VSC more flexible with respect to individual driver characteristics.

Development of Expertise-based Safety Performance Evaluation Model

  • Construction projects have become increasingly complex in recent years, resulting in substantial safety hazards and frequent fall accidents. In an attempt to prevent fall accidents, various safety management systems have been developed. These systems have mainly been evaluated qualitatively and subjectively by practitioners or supervisors, and there are few tools that can be used to quantitatively evaluate the performance of safety management systems. We propose an expertise-based safety performance evaluation model (EXSPEM), which integrates a fuzzy approach-based analytic hierarchy process and a regression approach. The proposed model uses S-shaped curves to represent the degree of contribution by subjective expertise and is verified by a genetic algorithm. To illustrate its practical application, EXSPEM was applied to evaluate the safety performance of a newly developed real-time mobile detector monitoring system. It is expected that this model will be a helpful tool for systematically evaluating the application of a robust safety control and management system in a complex construction environment.

자속추정기를 이용한 유도전동기 센서리스 벡터제어 (Sensorless Vector Control of Induction Motor Using the Flux Estimator)

  • This paper presents a flux estimator for the sensorless vector control of induction motors. The proposed method utilize the combination of the voltage model based on stator equivalent model and the current model based on rotor equivalent model, which enables stable estimation of rotor flux in high speed region and in low speed region. The dynamic performance of proposed method is verified through the experiment. The experimental results show that motors ran easily start even under 150[%] load condition and operate continuously below 0.5[Hz].

  • This paper presents a new linear-matrix-inequality-based intelligent digital redesign (LMI-based IDR) technique to match the states of the analog and the digital T-S fuzzy control systems at the intersampling instants as well as the sampling ones. The main features of the proposed technique are: 1) the affine control scheme is employed to increase the degree of freedom; 2) the fuzzy-model-based periodic control is employed; and the control input is changed n times during one sampling period; 3) The proposed IDR technique is based on the approximately discretized version of the T-S fuzzy system; but its discretization error vanishes as n approaches the infinity. 4) some sufficient conditions involved in the state matching and the stability of the closed-loop discrete-time system can be formulated in the LMIs format.
