Analysis of Genetic Relationship of Entomogenous Fungi in Korea by Morphological Characteristics and RAPD (한국에서 채집한 Entomogenous fungi의 형태와 RAPD에 의한 유연관계 분석)

  • RAPD test and the observation of morphological, cultural characteristics of fourteen selected entomogenous fungi were conducted to investigate the analysis of their internal relationships. Paecilomyces tenuipes showed snow flower form attached to numerous white conidiophores, produced globular and semi-egg types on the club types of phialides. Cordyceps militaris formed globosely conidiophores, dark yellow fruiting body on pupa. The phialide as on Acremonium-type in global conidiophores. Beauveria bassiana covered with conidia was not formed fruiting body and adhered conidia on conidiophore of zigzag type. The PDA and SDAY medium were confirmed as an optimum growth of them. P. tenuipes showed to velvet and plane types in several media whereas C. militaris was belong to centrally raised and floccose in the morphological type. In contrast, B. bassiana covered with conidia on velvet shape. The size of amplified products were analyzed by RAPD using URP primer and were from 100 bp to 2.0 kb with $10{\sim}14$ geuomic DNA. Total similarities of two groups were by dendrogram of UPGMA analysis. The homology of P. tenuipes groups was 94.8 to 100%. It also showed 70.1 to 96.6% in C. militaris group and B. bassiana was higher similarity than any other. The internal change of C. militaris, produced telemorph fruiting body, was higher seperated in species than P. tenuipes and B. bassiana in the RAPD.

  • This study is aimed to investigate that the blended e-learning could enhance the effectiveness compared to the conventional lecture performed in classroom. At first, both the CbE(Class based E-learning) and the EbC(E-learning based Class) mode have been generated in blended e-learning operation method following the process which analyze the various studies of interest. In addition, the instruction structures of Z Type(Zigzag model) and H-Type(Ladder model) were established as proposed model. The H-Blended e-learning based on CbE mode was introduced in the Excel Spread Sheet subject which held in A University to achieve the goal of this study. Learners were categorized and belonged to either the group 1(over 50% of attendance in cyber lecture) or the group 2(the rest of them). The data analysis was performed with $x^2$-test, t -test to compare the achievement of study between groups. The t -test result showed that the academic achievement in learning with group 1 was statistically significant than the learner in group 2. The effectiveness of the blended e-learning has been proved as the logistic regression analysis showed that the rate of the attendance in the cyber lecture functioned as indicator that enable to predict the acceptance.

The Structures of Alditol Acetates (Alditol Acetates의 분자구조)

  • The crystal structures of two alditol acetates, D-glucitol hexaacetate and xylitol pentaacetate, have been determined by diffraction methods with Mo-K$\alpha$radiation, using direct methods for phase determinations. The crystal data are: for D-glucitol hexaacetate, P2$_1$, with a = 10.275 (2), b = 8.363 (1), c = 12.560 (5) $\AA;\beta$ = 95.97 $(2)^{\circ}$, Z = 2; for xylitol pentaacetate, P2$_1$/C with a = 18.126 (1), b = 11.422 (2), c = 8.649 (1) $\AA$, $\beta = 95.03 (1)^{\circ}$, Z = 4. Both molecules have extended zigzag carbon chain conformations which differ from previous studies of the structures of D-glucitol and xylitol and also differ from NMR studies on alditol acetates. The bond lengths and angles are normal, with mean values over both structures of C($sp^3)-C(sp^3): 1.514 (10),\; C(sp^3)-O: 1.444 (6),\; C(sp^2)-O: 1.347 (9),\; C(sp^2)=O: 1.197 (6),\; C(sp^2)-C(sp^3): 1.479(9){\AA},\; C(sp^3)-C(sp^3)-C(sp^3): 114.6 (17),\; O-C(sp^3)-C(sp^3): 109.4 (23),\; C(sp^2)-O-C(sp^3): 117.4 (6),\; O=C(sp^2)-O: 122.6 (6),\; C(sp^3)-C(sp^2)-O: 111.8 (7),\; C(sp^3)-C(sp^2)=O: 125.5 (4)^{\circ}$. The atoms of acetate groups are in coplanar. There are no particularly short intermolecular contacts and the molecules are held together by van der Waals force only.

CFD Analysis on the Heat Transfer Performance with Various Obstacles in Air Channel of Air-Type PV/Thermal Module (공기식 태양광/열 시스템 공기채널 내 여러 저항체 설치에 따른 전열성능에 관한 CFD 해석)

  • PV/Thermal module is the combined system, which consist of a photovoltaic module and solar thermal collector that can obtain electrical power and thermal energy simultaneously. Thus the power generation can be increase by decreasing the temperature of photovoltaic module and thermal energy retrieved from module also can be used for heating system. In this study, Heat transfer performance of air type PV/Thermal module was confirmed with various bottom obstacles that can be installed easily to real photovoltaic module by CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis. Eight type obstacles were investigated according to the shape and arrangement. As a result, nusselt number represent heat transfer performance was increased about 86% compare with the basic type PV/Tthermal module that has no obstacle and triangle type obstacle had higher value than other types. But pressure drop was also increased with increment of heat transfer enhancement. Thus the performance factor considering both heat transfer and pressure drop was confirmed and V-fin type obstacle arranged in a row for Reynolds number below 9,600 and protrusion type obstacle arranged in zigzag for Reynolds number above 14,400 were shown higher performance factor than other types. From these results, V-fin type obstacle arranged in row and protrusion type obstacle arranged in zigzag were considered as a proper type for applying to real PV/thermal module according to operating condition. But the heat transfer performance can be changed by the geometric conditions of obstacle such as height, width, length and arrangement. Thus, it could also confirmed that the optimal condition and arrangement of this obstacle need to be found in further study.

Evaluation of Maneuverability of Small Fishing Vessels Based on CFD Simulation under Standard Loading Condition (CFD 시뮬레이션 기반 소형 어선의 표준재화상태에 따른 조종성능 평가)

  • Maneuvering performance is crucial for fishing vessels, especially under operational conditions that involve frequent course changes and weight variations due to catch. Small vessel accidents account for approximately 60% of maritime incidents as of 2022, mainly attributed to collisions and stranding accidents due to insufficient maneuvering performance. Especially, accidents that occur on small vessels less than 10 tons account for about 65% of all accidents. The absence of international standards presents challenges in accurately evaluating the maneuvering performance of small vessels. In this study, a 4.99-ton small fishing vessel was selected as the target, and a 3d-cad model was created. The commercial numerical analysis program STAR-CCM+ was employed to establish a simulation environment for the vessel's maneuvring motion. Based on this standard loading conditions and weight distribution were considered, 10° / 10°, 20° / 20° zigzag tests and 35° turning test were conducted. The results revealed a tendency for decreased yaw and course-keeping performance and improved turning performance as the hull weight increased. However, in partial arrival and full load departure condition, the manoeuvering performance were relatively poor. Based on this, the need for evaluation of maneuvering and standardized criteria of maneuvering performance for safe navigation of small vessels is presented. Furthermore, it is expected that the evaluation results of maneuvering performance in this study can serve as fundamental data for establishing criteria for evaluating the maneuvering performance of small vessels.

A Study on the Maneuverabilities of the T.S. Kaya (실습선 가야호의 조종성능에 관한 연구)

  • It is necessary for navigator to understand sufficiently maneuverabilities based on experiences and the data which were gotten from several tests of the ship when he maneuver his vessel. By the way most navigators used to rely on his experiences or feelings only maneuvering ship. But when he encounters situations he did not experience before he may be in difficulties. So navigator must get both experiences and data based on experimental results. In this paper author performs several tests such as turning test, Zig-zag test and spiral test to provide informations of maneuverabilities for navigators. The obtained results are as follows: There occurs almost no difference in size of the turning circle by the changes of ship's speeds. The scale of the turning circle was decreased exponentially when the rudder angle was increased. The maneuverabilities is better turning to starboard side than to port side. Maneuverabilities are more effective when the rudder is used to small angle than to large angle. As a result of spiral test course stability was comparatively seemed to be good.

  • A fish-bone type bridge is vulnerable to the torsional behavior due to the single girder system with planar zigzag conformation. The fixed connecting area between the girder and pier is the special weak point because the torsional load creates excessive stress concentration. Therefore, the method to reduce the stress concentration is required. In this study, the reduction efficiency of various reinforcing types to reduce the excessive stress occurring at the connecting area is evaluated by using numerical analyses.

  • In order to investigate the effect of fuel injection hole configuration within the scramjet combustor, experiment and quasi-one-dimensional analysis was performed. And the results were compared with experiment and analysis result which were performed in 2008 with same facility and test condition. Fuel injection hole size was decreased and quantity was increased. However the depth of fuel penetration and flow quantity of fuel were maintained. As a test result, combustion performance was increased significantly with no-cavity injector and slightly with plain-cavity. However, combustion performance with zigzag-cavity was decreased.

  • 그래핀(graphene)의 가장자리(edge)는 결정구조의 배향성에 따라 지그재그(zigzag)와 안락의자 (armchair) 형태로 구분되는데, 나노미터 크기의 그래핀의 전자적 성질은 이러한 가장자리의 배향성에 의해 크게 영향을 받는다고 알려져 있다. 단일층 그래핀 가장자리 사이에서 일어나는 산화실리콘($SiO_2$)의 carbothermal reduction은 선택적으로 지그재그 형태의 가장자리를 생성한다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 라만 분광법과 원자 현미경(atomic force microscopy)을 이용하여 기계적 박리법으로 만들어진 이중층 그래핀에서 일어나는 carbothermal reaction을 연구하였다. 고온 산화 방법으로 이중층 그래핀에 원형 식각공(etch pit)을 만들고 Ar 기체 속에서 700도 열처리를 진행한 후, 원형 식각공이 육각형으로 확장된 것을 관찰하였다. 이것은 이중층 그래핀도 산화실리콘의 carbothermal reduction을 유발한다는 사실을 보여준다. 그러나 이중층 그래핀의 반응속도는 단일층보다 느린 것이 확인되었는데, 이는 이중층 그래핀의 탄소 원자와 산화제로 작용하는 산화실리콘 간의 평균 거리가 단일층보다 더 크다는 사실로 설명할 수 있다. 또한 본 연구에서는 반응기 내의 압력이 반응 속도에 미치는 영향과 식각공이 육각형으로 변해가는 과정에 대한 라만 분광 특성을 조사 및 분석하였다.

Self-Assembly of Pentacene Molecules on Epitaxial Graphene

  • Graphene have showed promising performance as electrodes of organic devices such as organic transistors, light-emitting diodes, and photovoltaic solar cells. In particular, among various organic materials of graphene-based organic devices, pentacene has been regarded as one of the promising organic material because of its high mobility, chemical stability. In the bottom-contact device configuration generally used as graphene based pentacene devices, the morphology of the organic semiconductors at the interface between a channel and electrode is crucial to efficient charge transport from the electrode to the channel. For the high quality morphology, understanding of initial stages of pentacene growth is essential. In this study, we investigate self-assembly of pentacene molecules on graphene formed on a 6H-SiC (0001) substrate by scanning tunneling microscopy. At sub-monolayer coverage, adsorption of pentacene molecules on epitaxial graphene is affected by $6{\times}6$ pattern originates from the underlying buffer layer. And the orientation of pentacene in the ordered structure is aligned with the zigzag direction of the edge structure of single layer graphene. As coverage increased, intermolecular interactions become stronger than molecule-substrate interaction. As a result, herringbone structures the consequence of higher intermolecular interaction are observed.
