Stationary Frame Current Control Evaluations for Three-Phase Grid-Connected Inverters with PVR-based Active Damped LCL Filters

  • Grid-connected inverters (GCIs) with an LCL output filter have the ability of attenuating high-frequency (HF) switching ripples. However, by using only grid-current control, the system is prone to resonances if it is not properly damped, and the current distortion is amplified significantly under highly distorted grid conditions. This paper proposes a synchronous reference frame equivalent proportional-integral (SRF-EPI) controller in the αβ stationary frame using the parallel virtual resistance-based active damping (PVR-AD) strategy for grid-interfaced distributed generation (DG) systems to suppress LCL resonance. Although both a proportional-resonant (PR) controller in the αβ stationary frame and a PI controller in the dq synchronous frame achieve zero steady-state error, the amplitude- and phase-frequency characteristics differ greatly from each other except for the reference tracking at the fundamental frequency. Therefore, an accurate SRF-EPI controller in the αβ stationary frame is established to achieve precise tracking accuracy. Moreover, the robustness, the harmonic rejection capability, and the influence of the control delay are investigated by the Nyquist stability criterion when the PVR-based AD method is adopted. Furthermore, grid voltage feed-forward and multiple PR controllers are integrated into the current loop to mitigate the current distortion introduced by the grid background distortion. In addition, the parameters design guidelines are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Finally, simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the feasibility of the proposed control approach.

마그네틱 기어의 영구자석 부착방법에 따른 영구자석 와전류손실 분석 (Analysis of Permanent Magnet Eddy Current Loss by Permanent Magnet Attaching Method of Magnetic Gears)

  • Recently, there has been an increasing interest in the non-contact power transmission method of magnetic gears. Since there is no mechanical contact, noise caused by friction can be reduced, and even if a sudden large force is applied, the impact of the gear is close to zero. Further, since the power is transmitted by the magnetic flux, it has high reliability. However, there is a problem that a loss due to a magnetic field due to use of a magnetic flux. The loss caused by the magnetic field of the magnetic gear is a joule loss called eddy current loss. In addition, the eddy current loss in the magnetic gear largely occurs in the permanent magnet, but it is a fatal loss to the permanent magnet which is vulnerable to heat. Particularly, magnetic gears requiring high torque density use NdFeB series permanent magnets, and this permanent magnets have a characteristic in which the magnetic force decreases as temperature increases. Therefore, in this paper, the eddy current loss of the permanent magnet according to the permanent magnet attaching method is analyzed in order to reduce the eddy current loss of the permanent magnet. We have proposed a structure that can reduce the eddy current loss through the analysis and show the effect of reducing the loss of the proposed structure.

반투과형 태양전지를 이용한 창호형 BIPV 건물의 환경성능 분석 (Comparison assessment of semi-transparent solar cell for BIPV windows)

  • To implement the planning of zero-energy buildings, their energy performance must be improved, and renewable energy applications must also be included. To accelerate the use of renewable energies in such buildings, BIPVs should be actively used in windows and on roofs. Window-type BIPVs are being developed in various forms depending on the size, composition, area ratio of the window, specification of glass, and so on. To analyze the applicability of various solar cells as window-type BIPVs, in this study, we evaluated their applicability, at the current development level, by analyzing the indoor illuminance, heat gain and heat loss; the cooling, heating, and lighting energy levels; and the generation performance of the various solar cells. To enhance the future applicability of window type BIPV, we analyze the overall energy performance of the building, according to changes in visible light transmittance and generation efficiency. The main research results are as follows. The area ratios above the standard illuminance, based on the window type and according to the VLT, were in order of low-e glazing, a-Si window, DSSC window, and c-Si window. The heat gain of the semi-transparent solar cell winodw was remarkably low. The energy consumption of buildings was highest in the order of c-Si window, DSSC window, a-Si window, and clear low-e window. However, in the case of including the power generation performance of the solar cell, the energy consumption was found to be high in order of DSSC window, c-Si window, a-Si window, and clear low-e window. In the future, if a window-type BIPV is developed, we believe that improvement in power generation performance and improvement in visible light transmittance will be needed.

Nitrogen Fertilization on the Growth of Rape (Brassica napus L.) in Newly Reclaimed Land in Korea

  • This study was conducted to find out the optimum nitrogen application rate for the stable production of rape in the newly reclaimed land located at Gangwhal region of Saemangum reclaimed land in which the soil is sandy loam (Munpo series). There were five treatments of nitrogen fertilization from zero to 60% increment based on the standard fertilization of $150kg\;ha^{-1}$. The growth of rape (Sunmang) was not affected by salt content while soil salinity was increased at blossoming season of rape. Compared to yield of standard fertilization the yield and the content of oleic acid of rape were increased by 4~26% with the increasing additional nitrogen fertilizer. The results obtained from the growth and yield of rape in this study indicated that it was possible to cultivate rape in a newly reclaimed land if soil salinity was kept below $3dS\;m^{-1}$.

급가속시 자동차 흡기계의 능동소음제어 성능향상을 위한 Correlation FXLMS 알고리듬 개발 (Development of Correlation FXLMS Algorithm for the Performance Improvement in the Active Noise Control of Automotive Intake System under Rapid Acceleration)

  • The method of the reduction of the automotive induction noise can be classified by the method of passive control and the method of active control. However, the passive control method has a demerit to reduce the effect of noise reduction at low frequency (below 500Hz) range and to be limited by a space of the engine room. Whereas, the active control method can overcome the demerit of passive control method. The algorithm of active control is mostly used the LMS (Least-Mean-Square) algorithm because the LMS algorithm can easily obtain the complex transfer function in real-time. Especially, When the Filtered-X LMS (FXLMS) algorithm is applied to an ANC system. However, the convergence performance of LMS algorithm goes bad when the FXLMS algorithm is applied to an active control of the induction noise under rapidly accelerated driving conditions. Thus Normalized FXLMS algorithm was developed to improve the control performance under the rapid acceleration. The advantage of Normalized FXLMS algorithm is that the step size is no longer constant. Instead, it varies with time. But there is one additional practical difficulty that can arise when a nonstationary input is used. If the input is zero for consecutive samples, then the step size becomes unbounded. So, in order to solve this problem. the Correlation FXLMS algorithm was developed. The Correlation FXLMS algorithm is realized by using an estimate of the cross correlation between the adaptation error and the filtered input signal to control the step size. In this paper, the performance of the Correlation FXLMS Is presented in comparison with that of the other FXLMS algorithms based on computer simulations.

NZ-DSF를 갖는 8×40 Gbps WDM 시스템에서 개량된 MSSI 기법을 이용한 왜곡된 RZ 신호의 보상 (Compensation for Distorted RZ Signals in 8×40 Gbps WDM System with NZ-DSF using Modified MSSI)

  • 본 논문에서는 비 영 분산 천이 광섬유로 구성된 $8{\times}40$ Gbps WDM 시스템에서 모든 채널을 효과적으로 보상할 수 있는 광 위상 공액기의 최적 위치와 광섬유의 최적 분산 계수 값을 도출하는 수치적 방법을 제안하였다. 그리고 이 방법의 유용성을 확인하기 위하여 도출된 두 최적 파라미터를 갖는 시스템에서의 보상 특성을 현재 일반화된 MSSI (Mid-Span Spectral Inversion)에서의 보상 특성과 비교하였다. 유도된 두 최적 파라미터가 WDM 시스템에 적용되면 왜곡된 8-채널 신호들의 보상을 2 dB 이내의 전력 패널티로 크게 개선시킬 수 있는 것을 확인하였다. 그리고 두 최적 파라미터들은 최적 값을 찾는 순서에 크게 관계없지만 두 파라미터가 서로 의존해서 구해져야 한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

점성토의 유한요소해석에서 전단파라미터에 따른 성토 및 굴착 거동 (Embankment and Excavation Behaviour with Shear Parameters of Soft Clayey Soil in FEM)

  • 본 연구에서는 연약지반에서의 재하/제하에 대한 안정해석과 응력-변형 해석시 전단 파라미터(UU; Unconsolidated Undrained, CU; Consolidated Undrained(전응력), ${\bar{CU}}$ ; Consolidated Undrained(유효응력))에 따른 초기 지중응력, 강도, 응력-변형 특성을 평가하였다. 시공단계를 고려한 유한요소 해석시 입력하는 전단 파라미터에 따라 초기 지중응력과 이후 해석 결과가 달라질 수 있음을 확인하였다. 특히, Mohr-Coulomb 모델의 입력 파라미터인 내부마찰각(Phi)을 0으로 입력하여 초기 지중응력과 이후 응력-변형 거동을 해석할 경우 잘못된 결과를 도출 할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 전응력 파라미터, CU를 초기 및 전단시 일괄 적용한 해석과 유효응력 파라미터, CU에서 전응력 파라미터, CU로 변경한 해석 결과가 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. 따라서, 연약지반에 대한 수치해석시 CU 파라미터를 적용하여도 초기 지중응력과 이후 응력-변형 거동에 큰 차이 없이 예측할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 실무에서 적용하기 편한 방법으로 실제 흙의 거동과 동일한 강도를 갖는 Mohr-Coulomb 모델의 전단 파라미터를 산정하는 방법을 제안하였다.

Cerebral current-source distribution associated with pain improvement by non-invasive painless signaling therapy in patients with failed back surgery syndrome

  • Background: Non-invasive painless signaling therapy (NPST) is an electro-cutaneous treatment that converts endogenous pain information into synthetic non-pain information. This study explored whether pain improvement by NPST in failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) patients is related to cerebral modulation. Methods: Electroencephalography (EEG) analysis was performed in 11 patients with FBSS. Subjects received daily NPST for 5 days. Before the first treatment, patients completed the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI) and Beck Depression Inventory and underwent baseline EEG. After the final treatment, they responded again to the BPI, reported the percent pain improvement (PPI), and then underwent post-treatment EEG. If the PPI grade was zero, they were assigned to the ineffective group, while all others were assigned to the effective group. We used standardized low-resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (sLORETA) to explore the EEG current-source distribution (CSD) associated with pain improvement by NPST. Results: The 11 participants had a median age of 67.0 years, and 63.6% were female. The sLORETA images revealed a beta-2 CSD increment in 12 voxels of the right anterior cingulate gyrus (ACG) and the right medial frontal area. The point of maximal CSD changes was in the right ACG. The alpha band CSD increased in 2 voxels of the left transverse gyrus. Conclusions: Pain improvement by NPST in FBSS patients was associated with increased cerebral activity, mainly in the right ACG. The change in afferent information induced by NPST seems to be associated with cerebral pain perception.

A Study on the Prediction Model for International Trade Payment Using Logistic Regression

  • Purpose - Although remittance payment in international trade settlements has played a bigger role in recent years, scant research is being done. This study is to zero in on analyzing determinants of international trade payments focused on remittance by constructing a payment prediction model. Design/methodology - This study categorizes the types of trade payments into advance remittance, post remittance, linked remittance, letter of credit, and mixed payment, and analyzes these after constructing a logit model. For empirical analysis, 147 survey data were collected for export manufacturers in Korea, and binominal logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the type of payment method the exporter chooses for trade transactions. Findings - The likelihood of choosing advance remittance increased as the exporters had non-recovery experiences with payments, and decreased as the market power of importers increased. The possibility of post remittance increased when the export amount was large and the character of the buyer was reliable. In the case of linked remittance, it was highly likely to be selected when payment efficiency was important in trade settlement. In addition, when competition among companies in the global market is intense and market uncertainty is high, the possibility of using a letter of credit decreases. It was also found that the greater the export amount, the greater the possibility of choosing advance remittance, and even if the transaction period was longer, exporters using a letter of credit continued to use it. Originality/value - Despite the high proportion of remittances in international trade settlements, it has been hard to find studies that reflect the practical characteristics of remittances. This study classified the types of remittance into advance remittance, post remittance, and linked remittance, and built a trade payment prediction model by adding a letter of credit and mixed payment. In addition, the originality of this study is recognized in that a logistic model was constructed and meaningful results were derived.

일차홀드 방식과 가상 댐퍼가 가상 스프링의 안정성 영역에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a First-order-hold Method and a Virtual Damper on the Stability Boundary of a Virtual Spring)

  • 가상환경 속 가상 강체는 가상 스프링과 가상 댐퍼의 병렬구조로 모델링되며 가상 강체의 현실감을 증강시키기 위해서는 가상 모델로부터의 반력을 안정적으로 최대한 크게 제시해야 한다. 따라서 햅틱 인터페이스의 안정성을 유지시킬 수 있는 가상 스프링과 가상 댐퍼의 영역을 분석하여 가상 강체모델을 선정하는 것이 중요하다. 기존에는 영차홀드를 이용하는 시스템에 대해 안정성 영역이 분석되었으나, 본 논문에서는 일차홀드 방식과 가상 댐퍼를 이용하는 햅틱 시스템에 대한 안정성 영역을 분석한다. 안정적인 가상 댐퍼 영역의 경계값은 샘플링 주기와 반비례 관계를 가지며, 안정적인 가상 스프링 영역의 최대값은 샘플링 주기의 제곱에 반비례 관계를 갖는다. 그리고 그 최대값은 일차홀드 방식을 이용하여 기존의 영차홀드의 경우보다 약 110% 향상시킬 수 있다. 가상 댐퍼의 크기가, 일차홀드 방식에서의 안정적인 가상댐퍼 경계값의 약 50% 보다 작다면, 일차홀드를 이용함으로써 기존의 영차홀드의 경우보다 안정적인 가상 스프링의 영역을 수 배 더 크게 할 수 있다.
