Development of FSR Sensor Suits Controlling Walking Assist System for Paraplegic Patients (하반신 마비환자의 보행보조시스템 제어를 위한 저항 센서 슈트 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the FSR sensor suit that controls walking assist device for paraplegic patients. The FSR sensor suit was to detect user's intent and patterns for walking by measuring pressure on the palm and the sole of user's foot. It consisted of four modules: sensing pressure from palm, changing modes and detecting pressure on the palm/at the wrist, sensing pressure from the soles of user's foot, and host module that transmit FSR data obtained from sensing modules to PC. Sensing modules were connected to sensing pads which detect analog signals obtained from the palm or the sole of foot. These collect signals from the target regions, convert analog signals into digital signals, and transmit the final signals to host module via zigbee modules. Finally, host modules transmit the signals to host PC via zigbee modules. The study findings showed that forces measured at the palm when using a stick reflected user's intent to walk and forces at the sole of the user's foot revealed signals detecting walking state.

Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network Considering Data Transmission Stability and Load Quantity (선형적 데이터 전달의 안정성과 부하량을 고려한 무선 센서 네트워크 라우팅 프로토콜)

  • Sensor networks are needed for special purposes such as collecting or transmitting information by using sensor devices, for which various routing protocols have been proposed. Among existing protocols, the modified PEGASIS routing technique is known to be effective when applied to cases with directional transmissions of data. However it does not consider recovery from errors or guaranteeing stability in data transmission, while sensor devices performing repetitive relays and controls are prone to errors. In this paper, a double relay routing protocol for Zigbee based sensor networks where data are transfered reliably with a linear direction. The proposed protocol is effective in the sense that it secures the relaible transmission of data with minimal energy consumption based on a directional data transfer. A streetlight control system has been presented as an application of the proposed protocol.

Test-Bed Implementation for Real-Time Frequency Interference Analysis between Unlicensed Devices (비면허기기 간 실시간 주파수간섭 분석 테스트베드 구현)

  • In this paper, we suggested a real-time test-bed for analyzing frequency interference between 2.4 GHz unlicensed devices, such as WiFi, Zigbee, etc. Owing to versatile programming capability of Universal Software Radio Peripheral(USRP) and $Labview^{TM}$, frequency interference environments can be easily modeled. Therefore, performance degradation effects due to various parameters of interferer and victim receiver can be analyzed intuitively. For verification, we showed a frequency interference scenario, which consists of IEEE 802.15.4 as a victim and IEEE 802.11b as a interferer. Measured Bit Error Rate(BER) results showed good agreement with theory and simulation results.

  • In this paper, we propose an alternative method of collecting image data and changing nodes in wireless sensor networks based sensing disaster systems configured with zigbee using quad copter. It is difficult to observe a wide area caused by existing fixed video cameras in the wireless sensor network system using a conventional image-based. Also the nodes don't have provide to alternate methodology in situations when missing due to a disaster or destruction. In this paper, to use wearing the IP camera and the communication node to the quad copter, it provides a method to take advantage of as improving an alternative node of the reliability of the sensor node. The results show to improve the reliability of the sensor nodes and real-time status information through a video quad Copt than conventional systems.

  • Internet of Things spotlighted by the recent growth of the country: the interest in (IoT Internet pf Things) is being maximized. According to the scale of the 2013 Machina Research 2022 yireundago IoT market it is predicting about $ 1.2 trillion. Also the number of IoT devices connected simultaneously to the 2020 worldwide reached about 2.1 billion, and is expected to require about 200 million communications link. Many of these devices in order to manage and operate them efficiently IEEE 802.15.4e, D2D, Beacon, supporting protocols such as Zigbee gateway and network Connectivity to the urgent need for a proactive response to M2M -based operating convert it to a standard protocol being. This paper supports a variety of devices with different protocols and propose the design of intelligent Gateway with integrated features to manage operations.

  • In this paper, design and implementation of multi-modular robots of similar structure to the arthropods for rock path driving. Each module corresponds to an arthropod joint, which has an independent power supply and control equipment including drive and short-range Zigbee wireless communication that were implemented. On various directions and paths each module has the same driving direction and each module is controlled to operate or not by wireless communication. Depending on path condition, each module calculate the speed and torque and depending on the slope of a rough path, the number of active modules can be changed for the efficient driving on a variety of roads conditions. Experimental driving through rough road model, variable multi-module robot is implemented.

  • In this paper, we proposed indoor positioning system using RSS(Received Signal Strength) positioning method and TSS(Transmission Signal Strength). The main point in the paper is to improve reliability of accuracy positioning with the area recognition algorithm and probabilistic algorithm, which can be effectively used indoor. In the test in 1-dimensional or 2-dimensional spaces, also we checked effective positioning system considered environment of propagation that is changed by reflection, refraction and multipath in according to space form. It is necessary to find place where urgent situation happen and quickly to respond the situation for patients or the weak. Therefore, we expect the positioning system proposed can apply to the field of traffic IT.

Implementation of Wireless Measurement System for Tire Deformation (타이어 변형량의 무선 계측 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, a wireless measurement system has been developed which can measure the deformation of a tire in real time by utilizing strain gauge sensors and Zigbee wireless communication. A strain gauge sensor is mounted inside the tire and then the strain on the tire is obtained using the DSP module. The acquired sensor values are transmitted into the vehicle by radio communication. The wireless receiver module installed inside the vehicle can monitor the deformation of the tire in real time. The deformation of the tire can be used for measuring the load applied to each tire or the speed of the tire. The load or speed applied to the tires are essential parameters for the stable control of autonomous vehicles.

  • Entering the twenty-first century, the technology of wireless communication develops the applications with the ubiquitous concept. It is standardized and can be choose for various uses in different fields. With this trend and the advantages of wireless system, the research is conducted to use wireless system instead of wire system to existing equipment on aircraft. Wireless system is general on aircraft. However, wire system is used to communicate ground crew and pilot and to get data from equipment installed on aircraft. In this study, a wireless voice communication system was developed to communicate ground crew and pilot on aircraft as effective wireless system. Also, a wireless system to transmit and receive voltage and current data was developed.

  • In this paper, we proposed a RSSI based cooperative localization algorithm considering wireless propagation characteristics in indoor environment for wireless sensor networks, which can estimate the BN position. The conventional RSSI based estimation scheme has low precision ranging according to time variable propagation characteristics. Hence, we implemented ray-launching simulator for analysis of propagation characteristics in $13.65m{\times}8.7m$, and performed proposed localization scheme with 4 RN and 1 to 5 BN. From the results, if we can consider channal characteristic in proposed ranging scheme, the cooperative localization algorithm with propagation characteristics provides higher localization accuracy than RSSI based conventional one.
