  • Short-form content, which means "short video content within 10 minutes," is rapidly emerging as a recent trend among MZ generations based on the fact that it can be viewed whenever there is a short running time, and they are physically short, colorful, and deliver a lot of information in a compressed time, showing differences in both long-form content and format. In addition, entertainment videos such as information delivery videos, eating shows, web entertainment, and dance challenges are mainly produced and distributed, so there is no need to take expertise as a creative work of video experts, and consumers often become producers by directly participating in production using low-end equipment such as smartphones. For these reasons, shortform content creates new image styles rather than general existing image forms such as long-form contents, and this study focuses on changes in editing styles. This study summarized the following five characteristic changes by analyzing the editing style of short form content that has changed compared to long form content according to the 'visual' aspect. The use of frames, memes, screen division, blue screen, and subtitles are included, and by organizing each characteristic, we identified the editing style of shortform content that has emerged as a recent trend and learned about the changes.

  • This study aims to examine the characteristics of news content and users' reactions in local broadcasting Youtube news' channel, and explore how the local media should response in the new online video environment. YouTube Open API sampled 3,950 news-related videos uploaded over a month on 31 YouTube news channels nationwide. The content analysis was performed on the basis of the analysis of individual videos, such as characteristics of each content and users' reactions. As a result, a few news channels have produced digital-only content, but the ratio has been very low, most were broadcast replay videos with titles and formats uploaded as they were. In some cases, it still operates as a comprehensive channel, which failed to show its expertise as an independent digital news platform. This shows that theses YouTube channels lacks differentiation from TV or its own web page, and is still skewed to the auxiliary role or online archive function of TV platform. Nevertheless, digital-only content, which can be a national issue based on regional expertise, has led to a higher number of views and users reactions, suggesting that is a realistic and effective strategy with expandability in online space in the future.

  • Purpose of this study is enhancing usability of online video platform by analyze link-depth and advertisement frequency. In this study, researcher checked market share of video platform which publishing web-drama, and compare their link-depth and advertisement frequency. As a result, access to the latest content has two to three link-depth. So it does not worsen usability. but, if contents doesn't show on main page or search result, it requires more than five to six steps. Image advertisement show up more than twice on every platform. 'Youtube' and 'Naver TV' show up pre-roll video advertisement in video player before offering contents. In this video platform information structure, directory searching needs high link-depth level and advertisement frequency. It will increase user's bounce rate and decrease return visit rate. So researcher suggests prototype using drop-down menu to reduce link-depth and enhance information structure.

  • YouTube as a news channel is gaining popularity because it offers more interesting and in-depth news than traditional news media. However, YouTube has been criticized for its distribution of false information (or fake news) in Korea. Politicians are actively proposing a variety of bills to regulate YouTube's false information and a lot of studies proposed how to regulate YouTube's false information. This study looked at the users' experience and perception of false information and identified factors that affected the regulation of YouTube news. The results showed that the conservatives and the moderate groups were exposed to false information more than the progressives, and those in their 60s believed that false information was distributed on YouTube rather those in their 20s to 50s. The more people value freedom of expression, the more people trust TV Chosun news, the more people tend to oppose the regulation of information on YouTube. On the other hand, it turns out that the more people trust the news on both terrestrial broadcasting networks and JTBC, and the more people value the enlightening aspects on the news, the more they approve of Youtube regulation.
