  • We present a library of high-resolution (R~45,000) and high signal-to-noise ratio ($S/N{\geq}200$) near-infrared spectra of 147 standard stars. High quality spectra were obtained with Immersion GRating INfrared Spectrograph (IGRINS) covering the full range of H ($1.496-1.795{\mu}m$) and K ($2.080-2.460{\mu}m$) bands. The targets are mainly selected as MK standard stars which have well-defined spectral types and luminosity classes, and cover a wide range of effective temperatures and surface gravities. The spectra were corrected for telluric absorption lines and absolute flux calibrated using Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) photometry. We find new spectral indices in H and K bands and provide their EWs. We describe empirical relations between the measured EWs and stellar atmosphere parameters such as effective temperature and surface gravity.

Variability study of AGN in NGC 4395

  • We present the preliminary results from our intensive monitoring campaign for measuring continuum and line variability of a low-mass Seyfert galaxy, NGC 4395, which host a smallest known AGN black hole in the reverberation mapping studies. We performed consecutive photometric observations during 5 nights in April 2017. Various telescopes in the world, including BOAO 1.8-m, NYSC 1-m, MDM 2.4-m, 1.3-m, etc, were dedicated for this campaign. Preliminary results show that the tentative time lag can be determined, which is approximately order of 1-2 hours.

High-resolution Optical and Near-infrared Spectra of 2MASS J06593158-0405277

  • We present the results of high-resolution optical (R ~ 30,000) and near-infrared (R ~ 45,000) spectroscopic monitoring observations of a new FU Orionis-like young stellar object, 2MASS J06593158-0405277. FU Orionis objects (FUors) are well-studied examples of episodic accretion because of their outburst phenomenon. Recently, 2MASS J06593158-0405277 exhibited an outburst and was identified as an FUor. It provides an important opportunity to investigate the whole FUors phenomenon from its pre-outburst to its post-outburst phase. We observed 2MASS J06593158-0405277 with the Bohyunsan Optical Echelle Spectrograph (BOES) of the Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory (BOAO) and the Immersion GRating INfrared Spectrograph (IGRINS) of Harlan J. Smith Telescope (HJST) at the McDonald observatory since December 24, 2014. We detected a number of lines and present here our analysis for time variations of those spectral lines.

Optical follow-up observation of three long GRBs with SomangNet facilities

  • We report the optical follow-up observations of three long γ-ray burst events, GRB 201020A, GRB 201103B and GRB 210104A by the network of telescopes in the SomangNet project. We show light curves, color evolution and SED evolution, and fit them to a single power law function to derive decay index and compare their properties with other long GRBs samples. Also, we show a good observational example that 0.4-1m class telescopes in SomangNet have potential to catch dim light from high red shift object (R>22 mag) by deep imaging. In conclusion, we found that three GRBs have optical afterglow properties of long GRB and our results are consistent with the reports of high energy analysis.

  • In this talk, we will give an overview of the small telescope network project in Korea. The small telescope network is a project in planning that would gather 0.4m-1.0m telescopes in Korea together for a common use in research and education, and the project is being led by the Optical/IR Astronomy Division of KAS. Even in the era of giant telescopes, small telescopes are still competitive for various research topics that require rapid response or long-term, steady monitoring. There are quite a few small telescopes in Korea, but the research use of these telescope has been very limited. By organizing these telescopes together, the small telescope network hopes to bring these telescopes in full operation and offer Korean astronomers competitive observational resources. In this talk, we will outline the project, describe potential resources, and several science cases such as multi-messenger astronomy, supernovae, and AGN. We will also introduce how this project might be run, with the expected operation of the small network starting at 2020.

The Roles of Filmmaking as a Tool for Youth Learning and Cultural Exchange: Two Nations One Mind Film Contest Project

  • The Two Nations One Mind film contest was launched by the collaboration between Pukyong National University (PKNU) in Busan, The Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) in Bangkok, Thailand. The project was funded mainly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, South Korea. The intention of the project was to increase the recognition of Korea in Thailand through co-production filmmaking between university students from the two countries. This paper aims to look at the feedback from the project participants from both nations as to how international co-productions resulted in cultural exchange and international youth cooperation. The paper also examines the films produced from the project, Blossom, Different (Yet) the Same, Two Taste, Two Nations and When I Was There, for how they reflect the elements of transnational cinema. The comments from the films' audience were also taken as part of the data.

  • 본 논문에서는 학교 교육환경에서 청소년들에게 발생 할 수 있는소 셜미디어의 역기능을 빅 데이터 처리를 통하여 분석 할 수 있는 방법을 제시하고, 특히 악성 댓글을 위주로 한 청소년들 간의 소셜미디어를 중심으로 빅 데이터의 마이닝 기술을 활용하여 대표적인 청소년 문제의 확산을 방지 할 수 있는 시스템 제안한다.

  • This article aims at rethinking on people of Modern styles in early modern period with reference to A Large River[Dae-Ha] written by Kim Nam-cheon at 1939. Park Sung-guoen could be called to Homo Economicus, first, have maximized of self-interest in rapid changes of Korea society with loan sharking, rising to upper class in new early modern era instead of traditional nobleman. Park Hyung-geol could be said romantic guy, second, have chased romatic love consist of three elements(love-sex-marriage). But he troubled his love affairs to his family members frustrated his will because of a bastard son. It is the model of situations, Kim Nan-cheon intended to describe, that Homo Economicus became an object of envy among people in early modern society as well as the choice has been hard in conflicting between family and lover, concretizing anachronism through history of family.

학교 밖 청소년의 생활실태와 행복감 관련 변인 (The Current Status of Life and Happiness of Out of School Youth)

  • 본 연구는 천안시의 학교밖 청소년 250명을 대상으로 생활실태와 심리적 특성을 분석하고 행복감에 영향을 주는 요인을 파악하여, 학교밖 청소년들의 행복감 증진을 위한 정책적 제언을 하고자 수행되었다. 분석 방법은 SPSS PC+ Win. 21.0을 활용하여 기술통계분석, 신뢰도분석, 평균비교분석, 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석을 하였고, 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가정문제로 학업을 중단한 청소년의 자아존중감이 다른 이유로 학업을 중단한 청소년보다 낮았고, 행복감은 학업중단 기간이 2년 이상인 청소년이 가장 낮았다. 둘째, 학교밖 청소년들은 하루 중 수면 7.9시간, 일 3.91시간 등으로 사용하였고, 활동 장소는 집 10.73시간, 일터 3.66시간 등이었으며, 장래계획은 취업계획이 가장 많았고, 친구는 함께 게임 놀이할 친구가 가장 많았다. 셋째, 학교밖 청소년의 자아존중감, 희망 및 행복감 간에는 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 넷째, 학교밖 청소년의 행복감에 대한 상대적 영향은 자아존중감이 가장 높았고, 희망, 취업계획, 가정소득수준 순이었다.

청소년의 미래진로프로그램 개발 및 적용 효과 (The Development and Application Effects of Youth Future Career Programs)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 청소년이 미래를 예측하고 미래의 문제를 풀어낼 미래의 대안들을 탐색하며, 자신이 원하고 바라는 미래사회의 모습을 찾고, 그 사회에서 자신이 실현할 미래의 직업을 발견하거나 창조하는 미래진로프로그램을 개발하고, 그 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 그 결과, 청소년 미래진로프로그램은 미래이해, 미래참여, 미래의 나, 미래경영으로 총 4 모듈을 개발하였다. 개발된 미래진로프로그램의 적용 효과를 알아보기 위하여 K대학의 영재교육원의 학생 93명을 대상으로 사전-사후 실험 연구를 진행하였다. 청소년의 미래진로프로그램에는 남학생 62명, 여학생 31명, 중학생 62명, 고등학생 31명이 참여하였다. 분석결과 전반적으로 청소년의 미래효능감이 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다(t=7.810, p<.001). 결과적으로 청소년 미래진로프로그램에 참여한 청소년은 평소에 의문을 갖고 문제에 대해 분석하고, 자신에 대하여 성찰하며, 자신이 살고 있는 지역의 문제에 관심을 갖게 되는 등 생활에 있어 새로운 의미를 생성하는 능력이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 배움을 통해 새로운 것을 깨달아 현실에 적용하고, 배우면서 비판적인 사고 능력을 기르며, 배운 것을 잘 활용하는 실천력이 향상되었다. 또한, 사회를 개선하는 데 참여하는 사회 개선력이 높아졌으며, 자신을 타인에게 솔직하게 이야기하고 약점을 인정하며, 다른 사람들을 통해 새로운 것을 찾거나 만드는 의사소통능력이 향상된 것으로 나타났다.
