Recent Advances of the Diversity, Evolution, and Systematics of White Blister Rusts (Albuginales; Oomycetes) (흰녹가루병균(Albuginales; Oomycetes)의 다양성, 진화, 계통분류학 연구의 진보)

  • The Albuginales (Oomycetes) consist of obligate biotrophic pathogens, none of which is culturable on artificial media. This group causes white blister rust disease in diverse angiosperm plants, including many economically important crops such as sunflower, horseradish, rape, radish, spinach, and wasabi. Recent advances in molecular phylogenetic tools and findings of new morphological characters have advanced our knowledge on their diversity, evolution, and systematics. This review introduces the white blister rusts and discusses recent innovations resulting from studies on Albuginales.

Also, intranet that do web based spread, and develop by system that can alternate existent client-server structure rapidly. Specialty, possibility of improvement is much because is connecting being limited in internet environment that medical equipment and information system of various kinds of machine are wire in medical institution and so on. Because do medical treatment reflex transmission module development applying DICOM technology and filtering techniques of "m-PACS" In this research, existence, by interlock in radio usable Mobile reflex conversion system design and embody. That is, patient′s information which is stored to various systems to be transmited and can give big help in medical examination and treatment to reflex client without being wooed doctor′s interpretation result and so on in place through environment to be radish tentacle bar see.

A survey of parasites found on vegetables collected from several markets in Seoul City. (서울시내 시장에서 채집한 채소류에 부착된 기생충 조사)

  • Korea Parasite Eradication Association alleged in its seasonal report spring/1975 that 36.8 percent of primary, middle and high school students in Seoul area are infected with parasites. For the purpose of a comparative study between the high rate of parasite infection among Korean students and that of parasite eggs attached to vegetables which perform intermediary role in carrying the eggs to human body, such vegetables as lettuce, Korean cabbage, young radish, green onion, cabbage which are on sale at several markets in Seoul city are sampled at random for study. The infection rate of parasitic eggs and larvae on vegetables is studied twice while the detaching mean while removing rate of eggs and larvae in proportion to the number of washing them is studied three times. Every 300 grams of vegetables is taken at random for examination and every one of them is washed with a hard brush and then the kinds of parasite eggs and the ratio of eggs attached to them are studied.

Changes of Free Sugars in Kimchi during Fermentation (김치숙성 중 유리당의 변화)

  • The changes of free sugars in Kimchi during fermentation were analyzed by GC. The major sugars in Kimchi were mannose, fructose, glucose, and galactose and they were reduced gradually with fermentation, whereas mannitol appeared in the middle stage of fermentation and reduced slowly. The presence of mannitol in Kimchi was identified by GC and GC/MS for the first time. Most of free sugars were stemmed from chinese cabbage and radish, and reduced with fermentation. These patterns of change of free sugars were almost the same in Kimchi. It could be concluded that regardless of kinds of Kimchi the fermentation mechanism of Kimchi was very similar on the basis of the changes of free sugars.

Study of Sulfur Dioxide Contents in Various Fresh Vegetables During the Drying Process (건조에 따른 채소류 중의 이산화황함량 분석)

  • This study was planned to monitor the change in the content of sulfur dioxide during the drying process of fresh vegetables. The analysis of sulfur dioxide was conducted by the Optimized Monier-Williams Method based on the Korea Food Code. The samples were kinds of vegetables which consisted of naturally-originated sulfur compounds (green onion, onion, cabbage, garlic, radish leaves, radish). Fresh vegetables (n = 182) and dried vegetables (n = 41) purchased from different local areas were investigated for the content of sulfur dioxide. The fresh vegetables were dried at 50~$60^{\circ}C$ using hot-air dryer. The moisture contents of dried samples were adjusted to keep 10 percents. The contents of sulfur dioxide in self-dried vegetables were 104.6 mg/kg in green onion, 75.4 mg/kg in onion, 129.1 mg/kg in cabbage, 197.6 mg/kg in garlic, 23.0 mg/kg in radish leaves and 52.5 mg/kg in radish, respectively. The increase of sulfur dioxide content according to the moisture content reduction was different from the expected. It means that the contents of sulfur dioxide can be altered by other factors except moisture contents. This results can be utilized as materials for the safe management of sulfites of dried vegetables.

Effects of Low Dose Gamma Radiation and Seed Moisture Content on Germination and Early Growth of Vegetable Crops (저선량 방사선 조사 시 종자수분함량이 채소류의 발아와 초기생장에 미치는 영향)

  • To investigate the effects of low dose gamma radiation and seed moisture content (SMC) on germination and early growth of vegetable crops, seeds of chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L.), radish (Raphanus sativus L.), red pepper (Capcicum annuum L.), figleaf gourd (Cucurbita ficifolia Bouche) and bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria Standl), with different SMC were irradiated with different doses ($0{\sim}20\;Gy$) of gamma-ray by irradiator ($^{60}Co$, ca.150 TBq of capacity, AECL). Vegetable crops in which low dose gamma radiation was irradiated in seeds with different moisture content showed different response in seed germination and early growth to low dose gamma radiation. The germination rate of chinese cabbage, figleaf ground and bottle gourd irradiated with $2{\sim}8\;Gy$ showed interactive responses against relative SMC. Also, significant interactions occurred for the early growth between those factors. The stimulating effects of gamma radiation were more pronounced for hydrated seeds of chinese cabbage, radish, figleaf gourd and bottle gourd showing prominent responses with $2{\sim}10\;Gy$ irradiation, particularly for chinese cabbage and bottle gourd. These results suggest that radiation may promote germination and early growth of vegetable crops through interaction with SMC.

Variation of Nitrate Content on Distributed Vegetables in Korea (국내유통 채소류의 질산염 함량변이)

  • Nitrate contents of lettuce and chinese cabbage which aye consumed mostly in vegetables in Korea were $403\~6,935$ (mean 3,088), $31\~5,391$ (mean 2,412), and $310\~6,374$ (mean 3,017) mg/kg, respectively. Nitrate contents of root vegetables and fruit vegetables were lower than those of leaf vegetables. There was no different of nitrate content in vegetables by area, but the nitrate contents of summer vegetables were higher than those of winter vegetables. Nitrate contents of Danmugi, Kimchi, and Young radish Kimchi were 346, 1,411, and 3,240 mg/kg, respectively. Nitrate contents of juice of Danmugi, Kimchi, and younger radish Kimchi were 340,979, and 1,383 mg/kg, and there was no different of nitrate content by area.
