  • This investigation has been carried out for the purpose of the examination of current Gwangju and Jeonnam clinical pathology students' recognition of their departments and of effective employment guidance. Furthermore, it has examined the students' recognition on two sides; namely, their satisfaction with their own departments and their recognition of the employment of medical technologists. This investigation, with 389 students as its subjects from the clinical pathology departments at 4 universities in the Gwangju-Jeonnam Region, has compared and analyzed the data from the survey with a questionnaire from November 2008 to June 2009 by using the SPSS 12.0 package. Some of the remarkable results from the yielded data are as follows. As for the motivation for their application to the clinical pathology departments, the investigation of the students' satisfaction with their departments has revealed that 47.5% of the subjects indicated recommendation from friends or acquaintances while 22.1% reported that they had been informed of the departments through Internet. 70.4% of the subjects graduated from general high schools, 22.3% from commercial high schools, and 6.2% from technical high schools. Applicants from general high schools tend to decrease in number every year. 28.5% of the students judged professor's capability of lecture as an important part of their acquisition of licenses, and more than 65.6% of the subjects acknowledged the necessity of their self-study at night for the acquisition of license. As for the future prospect of the occupation of clinical technologist, 46.8% of the students replied that it was promising, while 39.1% reported that they had no ideas. From this we can confirm that the students of clinical pathology lacked a viewpoint of occupation and goals for future jobs. The investigation of the students'recognition of the employment of clinical technologists has revealed that 47.8% of them wanted to be employed in the Seoul-Gyeonggi Region due to the properties of their local universities, 29.0% of themlogpecteties of monesly salary to be 1,200,000~1,300,000 won, while 22.4% 1,300,000~1,400,000 won. These fiemres indicated that these students' salary ogpectations were relativplo lower than those from cities ertiprovinces. As for the greatest difficulty after employment, 31.1% of the subjects indicated the confliction among employees from variouatiolleges, 27.3% uncertainty of duties related to es of major, 24.9% bmrdens of self-development.

Regarding dietary and health related factors on how they perceive themselves, as normal were 204 (66.9%) the most and bad and very bad were respectively 43 (14.1%) and 5 (1.6%). Half of the subjects (43.2%) perceived sleeping hours to be insufficient, and 64.4% of them need to exercise regularly. As problems related to eating habits, they reported irregular meal times, overeating, preference of hot and spicy food, skipping meal, unbalanced meals. Regarding weight control they have attempted were the most (73.0%), after weight reduction, 51.2% of the subjects had side effects, such as gastrointestinal troubles, anemia, dizziness, sense of fatigue, constipation, physiological disorder, and diarrhea, etc. In the food habit score, it was shown that overall average score of the subjects was $62.63{\pm}9.86$ which is lower than other studies. Female ($62.76{\pm}10.15$) had better score than male ($61.67{\pm}8.06$). While the item with the highest point was eat all three meals of the day, that was the lowest point, exercise every day. • This study consisted of descriptive research to determine the prevalence of dry eye disease using the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) questionnaire targeting workers in hospitals to understand the differences between general and health related characteristics depending on whether people have dry eye disease, and to determine the influencing factors of the disease. The subjects were 502 (Male: 51, Female: 451) general hospital employees in G-city. The data were collected from October 1 to October 31, 2015. Logistic regression was used to analyze the data. The results showed that hospital workers' prevalence of dry eye disease was 76.1%. Factors influencing DED in this population included currently having or adjusting medication (OR: 4.73), among those who felt their eyes dry, those who visited clinics and received medical treatment (artificial tears) (OR: 2.37), those who felt eye dryness (OR: 2.23), and not eating regularly (OR: 0.55). Moreover, 54.0% of those who had dry eye disease reported serious conditions. Accordingly, education to manage the risk factors of the disease and improve lifestyle is needed to prevent and manage dry eye disease.

The investigation found that the general operation level of university libraries for disabled students were less than "medium"(average 2.38). As for utilization ratio, the most university students responded that "they didn't utilize libraries so many times(60%)". As for the response ratio of university library facilities and services, the most university students responded, "very insufficient", 99 items(32.27%), and the least university students responded, "very excellent", 28 items(7.0%). On the other hand, as for the analysis of each field, building facilities, in all of the items, were established more than "medium"(average 3.26), but material preparation level(average 1.8 point), employee education for softly supporting disabled students, and library utilization education on the target at disabled students(average 1.87) were less than "insufficient". Especially, the field of service was "insufficient level"(average 2.48), and standard deviation was more than 1.4. Manpower stationing and material delivery services have the biggest standard deviation between universities. So, this investigation found that university libraries reformed access to facilities a lot, but that its level of fundamental policy for library, such as materials, manpower, and the education on utilization, were in insufficient level.

  • This study analyzes the Required Safe Egress Time (RSET), in the event of a fire at a welfare center for the disabled, using the emergency passage according to the floor arrangement of users to evaluate the safety and the difference in RSET for each emergency passage using the Pathfinder simulation program to suggest an efficient evacuation method. As a result of RSET, it was found that there is no problem in evacuation safety for the current state of the facility's personnel allocation by satisfying the standard RSET in case of fire, and evacuation can be completed safely by evacuating through stairs rather than using elevators if possible. It is necessary for employees to be provided sufficient education and training in advance so that they can evacuate effectively with the disabled in case of fire. This study gives significance in saving many precious lives and safely evacuate in case of fire as evacuation routes were secured through the design, construction and operation of facilities for the disabled and the RSET was shortened through regular evacuation practices. It is necessary to discuss the further RSET studies based on the automatic fire shutters open or not when a fire occurs at a specific location following the installation of automatic fire shutter at the entrance of each floor of the facilities.

  • The purpose of this study was to extract the evaluation factors and assess the relative importance between the factors. For this purpose, the evaluation factors were extracted through literature review and the process of brainstorming with experts, who are related to port security. The evaluation factors were then classified into four higher factors and twelve sub- factors through the use of the AHP method. A survey on the classified factors was conducted by experts composed of public officials, port authority employees and education institutions officials. We also carried out statistical tests to determine the perception gap of weights between the groups. As a result of a relative importance analysis of strength, the security operating system factor was highest, followed by improvement of hardware facilities and increase of security personnel. There was a difference in perception among the groups in policy support, facility support and personnel resources budget support. The results of the analysis show that the strength operating system through the establishment of an integrated monitoring system is a priority. It is necessary to understand the difference of perception between groups and build a systematic cooperation system. The evaluation factors extracted from this study can be used for the measurement of port security efficiency in further work.
