PP-PHE blends were prepared by mechanical blending using relatively high moecular weight polyhydrozyether(PHE) and popypropylene polymers. PP-PHE blends were prepared and characterized for the purpose of obtaining a dycable PP fibers with the composition of less than 10 wt.% of PHE. 1)yeable PP fibers were acquired through the melt spinning of the PP-PHE blend of comprising less than 10 wt.% of PHE. The resultant fibers had tensile strength of 2~3 g/d, elongation of 330~600%, initial modulus of 22~46 g/d and yield stress of 1.0 g/d, and exhibited markedly improved dyeing ability such as higher absorbance, higher dye adsorption and deeper shade than those of pure PP fiber.
$Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3(PZT)$ is very attractive ferroelectric materials for ferroelectric random access memory (FeRAM) applications because of its high polarization ability and low process temperature. However, Chemical Mechanical Polishing (CMP) pressure and velocity must be carefully adjusted because FeRAM shrinks to high density devices. The contaminations such as slurry residues due to the absence of the exclusive cleaning chemicals are enough to influence on the degradation of PZT thin film capacitors. The surface characteristics of PZT thin film were investigated by the change of process parameters and the cleaning process. Both the low CMP pressure and the cleaning process must be employed, even if the removal rate and the yield were decreased, to reduce the fatigue of PZT thin film capacitors fabricated by damascene process. Like this, fatigue characteristics were partially controlled by the regulation of the CMP process parameters in PZT damascene process. And the exclusive cleaning chemicals for PZT thin films were developed in this work.
The polysaccharide (BB-pol) extracted from Bifidobacterium bifidum BGN4 showed growth inhibitory effects on several colon cancer cell lines such as HT-29 and HCT-116. To increase the yield of polysaccharide, B. bifidum BGN4 was cultured in various culture media with different compositions. When B. bifidum BGN4 was cultured in modified MRS broth containing phytic acid, the cells showed increased branch formation and enlarged morphology. The content of total carbohydrate and the ability of adhesion to intestinal epithelial cells were also increased by phytic acid. The polysaccharide obtained from the cells grown in the presence of phytic acid inhibited the proliferation of cancer cell lines such as HT-29 and MCF-7 cells but not normal colon cell line, FHC. Taken together, Bifidobacterium grown in the presence of phytic acid may confer enhanced beneficial function for the host.

In this research. we have proposed a new technique to determine .the combination of design parameters for the process design of a hot forged product using artificial neural network(ANN) and statistical design of experiments(DOE). The investigated problem involves the adequate selection of the aspect ratio of billet, the ram velocity and the friction factor as design parameters. An optimal billet satisfying the forming limitation, die filling, load and energy as well as more uniform distribution of effective strain, is determined by applying the ability of artificial neural network and considering the analysis of mean and variation on the functional requirement. This methodology will be helpful in designing and controlling parameters on the shop floor which would yield the best design solution.
The fluorescence intensity of khellin-dimethylfumarate C$_4$-cycloadduct (KDF) is very sensitive to temperature and to the nature of solvents, especially hydrogen-bonding ability. The fluorescence quantum yields of KDF in ethanol and isopentane at 77K are 0.73 and 0.54, respectively, both of which are much larger than the room temperature values. The phosphorescence lifetime is very long and decreases with decreasing the solvent polarity. The phosphorescence and fluorescence quantum yield ratio is very small and decreases with decreasing solvent polarity. The solvent relaxation plays an important role in the excited states of KDF. The internal conversion is a major decay process of the excited singlet state of KDF in all the solvents used at room temperature.
Carotene, xanthophyll, carotenoid anthocyan, phycopyrine, chlorophyll, and monascus pigments are used as natural coloring agents since they are more stable to human body than synthetic coloring agents. Among them, monascus pigments are a natural red pigment produced by the Monascus purpureus. For the development of edible paint using natural pigment, Monascus purpureus strain was cultured at a temperature of $35^{\circ}C$ for 15 days on a PDYA plate and liquid medium to produce a red pigment. In addition, a large amount of the red pigment was extracted from Hongkuk Koji in parallel with water extraction and ultrasonic wave extraction. At this time, the yield of ultrasonic extract was 2~4 times higher. Thus, Monascus purpureus strains, etc. were prepared by freeze-drying powder. In conclusion, natural paints made with red pigments have enabled the development of been edible paints that can be used as eco-friendly materials with good viscosity, enhanced spread ability and coloration.
The main aim of this study was to determine python fat's several physicochemical properties, including dimensions, color, structure, acid value (AV), saponification value (SV), density, and recovery efficiency. The optimum yield obtained was approximately 80.40% at 180℃ for 60 min with an AV of 0.3366 and SV of 179.56 mg KOH/g. Fatty acids, comprising oleic acid (72.462%), palmitic acid (26.243%), linolenic acid (0.835%), and myristic acid (0.459%), were identified using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The python fat had a very weak antioxidant capacity and almost no antibacterial ability with gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus - ATCC 25923 and Bacillus cereus - ATCC 10876) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli - ATCC 25922 and Salmonella enterica - ATCC 35664) bacteria (used the paper disc diffusion method for antibiotic susceptibility testing). Moreover, python fat is considered to be very resistant to high temperatures.

In order to investigate the effects of mechanical transplanting on the rice, four rice varieties including Jo-saing Tongil were planted in case nursering bed for three times with 10 days interval beginning from April 16. Fourty days old seedlings were transplanted with rice-transplanter, and growth habits of seedlings in bed and rice plants in main field and yield were examined and summerized as follows: 1. The plant height and number of leaves of the 40 days old seedling in case nursery bed were appeared to be less than those of seedlings grown in ordinary nursery bed. In case nursery, the plant height and number of leaves of seedlings grown in case nursery were apparently higher than those of seedlings grown in upland case nursery. 2. The root of 40 days old seedlings were cut to investigate the rooting ability of seedlings, and the rooting ability of the seedlings grown in the case nursery bed were apparently lower in the rooting ability compared with the seedlings grown in ordinary nursery bed. The rooting ability of the seedlings grown in the lowland case nursery was higher than that of the seedlings grown in the upland case nursery. 3. The tip of leaves of the varieties derived from Indica type were becoming yellow and yellow-red in color 25 to 30 days after planted in the case nursery bed. Those varieties was almost stopped growth. 4. The seedlings transplanted by transplanter had shown more than five to seven days of delay in rooting, compared with the seedlings transplanted by ordinary method. The heading dates was delayed five to seven days when transplanter was used, even though the delay of heading dates was a little different depending on the varieties. 5. The yields of unhulled rice were a little lower than that of Yusin variety which was hand planted. When mechanically transplanted, the yield of Tongil variety was highest in the plot where seedlings were transplanted on May 26. When transplanted on June 15, Milyang#15 was highest in yield, indicating the importance of varietal selection in mechanical transplantation. 6. The rice transplanter could transplant from 73 to 108 seedlings per $3.3m^2$. If the seeds of rice were evenly planted in the bed, the two-row rice transplanter could be used five to six times more effectively with less than one percent of missing plant compared with the hand transplanting. This suggests that rice transplanter could be utilized in the mono cropping area. 7. Since the time of transplantings in the double-cropping area is rather limitted, mechanical transplantation might be possible without reducings yield providing better adapted varieties and improved case-nursery techniques.
Objective: This study investigated the effect of extraction solvents on antioxidant bio-active compounds as well as potential antioxidant and lipid peroxidation inhibition of Phyllanthus acidus (P. acidus) leaf extract in minced pork. Methods: The effect of various solvent systems of water, 25%, 50%, 75% (v/v) ethanol in water and absolute ethanol on the extraction crude yield, total phenolic content, total flavonoid content and in vitro antioxidant activities of P. acidus leaves was determined. In addition, antioxidant activities of the addition of crude extract from P. aciuds leaves at 2.5 and 5 g/kg in minced pork on 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging, 2,2′-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS) radical cation decolorization, reducing power and inhibition of lipid peroxidation (thiobarbituric acid reactive substances; TBARS) were determined. Moreover, sensory evaluation of the samples was undertaken by using a 7-point hedonic scale. Results: The results showed that the highest crude yield (2.8 g/100 g dry weight) was obtained from water which also had the highest recovery yield for total phenolic content, total flavonoid content and the strongest antioxidant activity. The addition of crude water extract from P. acidus leaves was more effective in retarding lipid peroxidation and higher antioxidant activity than control and butylated hydroxytoluene in minced pork. In particular, the samples containing P. acidus extract had no significant effect on the sensory scores of overall appearance, color, odor, texture, flavor, and overall acceptability compared to the control. Conclusion: Water solvent was an optimally appropriate solvent for P. acidus leaf extraction because of its ability to yield the highest amount of bio-active compounds and in vitro antioxidant property. Particularly, P. acidus crude water extract also strongly expressed the capacity to retard lipid oxidation, radical scavenging, radical cation decolorization and reducing power in minced pork. The results of this study indicated that P. acidus leaf extract could be used as natural antioxidant in the pork industry.
All types of weed community became dominant by Monochoria vaginalis (Burm.) Presl. as the nitrogen level increased. The importance value (IV.) of M vaginalis rapidly increased with increasing nitrogen level whereas the LV. of other weed species decreased. At the 10 $\times$ 10cm plant spacing, M. vaginalis was almost totally suppressed at all nitrogen levels. At the 20 $\times$ 20cm plant spacing, the degree of suppression declined with increasing nitrogen level. At the 30 $\times$ 30cm plant spacing, there was no suppression of M vaginalis at the highest nitrogen level. The yield obtained at the 10 $\times$ 10cm plant spacing when M. vaginalis was present was not significantly different from that obtained from the weed free plot for all rice cultivars while it was significantly reduced by M vaginalis competition at the 20 $\times$ 20cm and 30 $\times$ 30cm plant spacings. The difference in yield caused by M vaginalis competition was primarily due to a reduction in the number of panicles at all nitrogen levels. There was a high negative correlation between grain yield and weed weight at heading. The yield reduction due to weed competition varied depending upon the nitrogen level.
