  • Dyeing properties of silk fabric with green tea colorants were studied by investigating the effect of dyeing conditions such as concentration pH dyeing temperature and time on dye uptakes and effect of mordants on color change and dye uptakes, And various colorfastnesses of dyed fabrics were evaluated for practical use. Green tea colorants showed relatively good affinity to silk fabric and produced yellowish red color. Langmuir adsoption isotherm was obtained. Therefore it is considered that ionic bondings between colorants and silk fibers are formed. Mordants did not improve dye uptakes and affect color of dyed fabrics significantly. But mordanting adversely affected lightfastness of dyed fabrics. Regardless of mordanting colorfastness to perspiration especially in alkaline condition of dyed fabrics showed low rating compared with other colorfastness. It is concluded that mordanting is not necessary for silk dyeing with green tea colorants.

  • The wild silkmoth, Samia cynthia pryeri, was firstly collected at Miryang, Korea. The development and quantitative characters of S. cynthia preyri in the laboratory condition were analysed. The larval body color of dark yellow green or light yellow green of the S. cynthia pryeri was changed into white color during the molting period, and the yellowish bristles in younger larvae were changed into fade green color in advanced stage larvae. Aralia elata and Zanthoxylum piperitum were newly identified as host plants to S. cynthia pryeri. Cocoon weight and cocoon shell percentage were average 2.14 g and 12.3 %, respectively. In addition, the morphology of the silkgland was different from that of the domestic silkworm,Bombyx mori, but was identical with that of the wild silkmoth, Antheraea yamamai.

  • This study was a survey of the taste for color arrangement and the relation to taste with food color. The term of investigation and object was the same as before mentions. The data-treatment was determinded by frequence percentage chi-square and F-test as measured by SAS program for PC and statistical figures were obtained by GDAS. The results were as follows;1. In the taste of arrangement for food, color. The most frequent colors were green and white followed by a yellowish green red. In preference 50's object was difference from another aged. It's significance was showed orange yellow pink and white. 2. In the relation of food color and taste term the color shown a pungent sweet hot and delicious taste was red and a sour astringent sweet taste was orange and anastringent bitter delicate hard taste was brown and a proteiny sofe sweet delicate taste was yellow and a cool taste was yellow and a cool taste was green, and a cool, bitter taste was blue and an astrngent taste was pink, and a bitter hard, tasteeless taste was black and a proteiny sofe taste was white. But in the case of any a bitter taste it's significance was shown.

  • Until now, in case of natural dyeing, the appearance of medium colors were achieved by repeat dyeing with different colorants after dyeing with one colorant. In this study, however, new dyeing method for appearance of medium colors was developed by use of mixing solution of different colorants prepared with the same ratio using colorant concentrates. In combination dyeing, purple color was difficult to represent because of the Gardenia blue dye among the colorants used in this study was naby blue dye. But the other medium colors such as yellow red, green yellow, green and blue green were easily represented by use of reddish Sappan wood and yellowish Gardenia concentrates. If the natural blue dye is prepared in concentrate condition, the dyeings dyed in various colors may be obtained by combination dyeing.

  • [ $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ ] green phosphors doped with $NH_4Cl$ and Al for PDP were synthesized by solid state reaction method. The luminescence of 532 nm in $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors was associated with $^4T_1{\to}^6A_1$ transition. Photoluminescence intensity of $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ doped with $NH_4Cl$ 15 mol% increased about two times as compared with that of $NH_4Cl$ non-doped sample. The color of the emission of Al-doped $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors changed to yellowish green.

  • $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn green phosphors doped with Ga for PDP were synthesized by solid state reaction method. Photoluminescence measurements showed a new emission peak at around 600 nm for $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors doped with Ga. Also, the luminescent color with doping $Ga^{3+}$ in the $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors changed to green from yellowish green. Consequently, the new peak and charge of the luminescent color in the $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn, Ga phosphors were attributed to $^2E{\rightarrow}^6A_2$ transition of $Mn^{4+}$.

  • Dyeing properties of cotton fabrics with green tea colorants were studied by investigating the effects of dyeing conditions such as colorants concentration. pH dyeing temperature and time on dye uptakes effects of mordats on dye uptakes and color change and effects of cationizing agent on dye uptakes. And various colorfastnesses of dyed fabrics were evaluated for practical use. Green tea colorants showed low affinity to cotton and produced yellowish red color. Freundlich adsorption isotherm was obtained thus it is considered that hydrogen bondings are formed between colorants and cotton. Dye uptake was maximum at pH 5 and decreased as pH increased. Mordants especially Cu and Sn were effective for increasing dye uptake. Dye uptakes were improved remarkably by cationizing. Cationized cotton showed Langumuir adsorption isotherm indicating that ionic bondings were formed between colorants and cationized cotton. While mordanting did not affect lightfastness cationizing affected adversely. Colorfastness of cationized sample was generally inferior to that of mordanted samples.

  • A new species of Graphis is described from Cameroon, Africa. The new taxon is distinguished by a greyish-green, glossy, uneven, and continuous thallus. Further, it possesses stellately branched lirellae, and its entire labia are covered almost completely with thick thalline margin. It also has a completely carbonized proper exciple, which is considerably thick at the base, one-spored asci, and muriform hyaline to yellowish ascospores.

  • Multi layered thin films with ZnS/$Na_3AlF_6$/ZnS were deposited on glass substrate by thermal evaporator precess and simulated by using EMP(Essential Macleod Program). EMP is a comprehensive software package to design and analyse the optical characteristics of multi-layered thin film. ZnS and $Na_3AlF_6$ were selected as a high refractive index and low refractive index material respectively. Additionally Cu was chosen as mid reflective material. Optical properties including color effect were systematically studied. in terms of different optical thickness of low refractive index material. The optical thickness of $Na_3AlF_6$ was changed as 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and $1.0\lambda$. The film with 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and $1.0\lambda$. of optical thickness showed mixed color range between bluish green and red purple, yellowish green and bluish green, purple and mixed color range of green and purple respectively.

  • Aspicilia humida Lee is described as a new lichen-forming fungus from a wetland forest, South Korea. The new species is distinguishable from Aspicilia aquatica (Fr.) Körb., the most similar species, by the absence of prothallus, black disk without green color in water, olivebrown epihymenium, shorter hymenium, hymenium I + yellowish blue-green, wider paraphysial tips without a vivid pigment, smaller asci, smaller ascospores, and the presence of stictic acid. Molecular analyses employing internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and mitochondrial small subunit (mtSSU) sequences strongly support A. humida as a distinct species in the A. cinerea group. A surrogate key is provided to assist in the identification of all 28 aspicilioid species of Korea.
