Design and Development of Yard-Sale Shopping Mall on the Blog (Blog 기반의 Yard-Sale 쇼핑몰의 설계 및 개발)

  • The Internet has been developed interactive media for electronic commerce. This progress is affected by the growth and adoption of virtual community technology, real time dialogue, and video conference etc. Recently, 'blogs' are rapidly diffusing to personal media on the internet. In this paper, we first review the previous research relevant to 'blogs', and then analyze the business models for blog systems presented by previous researchers. We develop a yard-sale shopping mall on the basis of analysis, design, and implementation of blog application for e-commerce, using Mcrosoft ASP.Net. This article describes the yard-sale shopping mall on a blog, presents an example of its abilities, and describes planned future research.

  • The Pusan Container Terminal faces a rapid increase in berthing time of container ships as well as in waiting time of external trucks, which is due to an absolute lack of yard space. This research is focused on the development of a decision support system for the planning of the container terminal yard assignment so that the yard space would be utilized most effectively. Efforts should be given to the reasonable assignment of the yard storage and the dynamic adaptation to the ever changing environment. The software introduced here is based on the know-how of the field exports and its framework takes the approach of the hierarchical decision making.

  • Yard cranes are very useful equipments for handing of heavy containers, But rope-driven yard cranes must have a little of sway and skew motion because ropes are passive mechanical device. Therefore rope-driven yard cranes require skilled drivers to depress sway and skew motions. So many researches have been concentrated on anti-sway and anti-skew algorithm controlling trolley speed or rope tension. Although many efforts, the rope-driven method is not proper to an automated yard equipment because of sway and skew motion. This paper will propose a new concept yard crane which has a new structure, overcomes defects of rope-driven cranes and is proper to automation. And we will study its actuality

  • Container terminals can maximize operational efficiency when appropriate berths (lengths) and yard capacity are secured. However, some container ports, such as Busan New Port, are separated and operated individually, which limits the efficiency of logistics. In this study, it was analyzed that the efficiency of the overall terminal operation (logistics) can be greatly improved when the yard co-petition area is used for two adjacent container terminals.

  • To secure superiority in keen competition among ports and to satisfy demands of shippers and shipping companies who are a main customer of ports, logistics service should be improved. However, most of dissatisfaction for logistics service arises from frequent transportation changes of shippers and inaccuracy of cargo-working information offered from shipping companies and inaccuracy of cargo information carried in from carriers. Therefore, the study embodied BPR and yard management prototype system on the basis of the process of business flow in yard to settle the above problems. The study also checked that information of booking list in a yard-allocated plan could be applied to forming efficient collaborative supply networking in yard management by supplementing insufficient cargo.

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the efficiency of two yard layout of HSS at container terminal, one is that the container yard blocks are placed horizontally in parallel with berth, the other is that the yard blocks are arranged vertically in perpendicular to the berth. In stevedoring system of container terminal, stacking and transport performance are influenced according to block arrangement type of yard. Therefore, efficient design that can improve stacking and transport performance is required. In this paper, we compared their efficiency of two block arrangement concepts in terms of storage capacity, productivity, facility investments, truck service level.

  • The main function of a container terminal is to load container freights into vessels and discharge them from vessels. The container terminal needs to utilize its resources effectively in order to improve the productivity of it. This study deals with the deployment model for yard cranes whose type is RMGC (rail mounted gantry crane). We develop a mathematical model for the deployment of yard cranes. The model considers not only the deployment but also the storage plans. It could be divided into two cases according to whether inter-block movements of yard cranes are allowed or not, during the same period Numerical examples are solved and analyzed to validate the model. Then, additional experiments are performed to compare the performance of the model with that of a previous model without the re-deployment of yard cranes.

  • The productivity of container terminal is usually regarded same as the productivity of quay crane. Operation of quay crane for the export is started from picking up a container in yard block. In doing so, smooth flow of container is vital to maximize the productivity of quay crane. Improvement of quay crane's productivity means improvement of entire productivity in container terminal, which reinforces the competitiveness of terminal consequently. Setting effective plan is essential to improve work flow from yard to quay crane. For optimal plan, it is necessary to gather information about exact time schedule of come-and-go containers for loading, amount of containers that will be come to terminal. Generally, the arrival time of containers and the amount of containers are definite and predictable. However, in the case of export container, the arrival time of containers is random and unpredictable. This study examines the pattern of coming-in containers as time goes in container yard and provides the solution to how to plan export yard considering the change of state in terminal and adapt it to container yard plan

A Study on Improving Power Quality by Real-time Reactive Power/Power Factor Compensating Equipment at Substation in Marshalling Yard (전기철도 차량기지 변전소의 실시간 무효전력/역률 보상설비 적용에 따른 전력품질 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, real-time reactive power/power factor compensating equipment is suggested for improving power quality at electrical railway's substation in marshalling yard and designing optimal capacity of compensating equipment for actual apply at current marshalling yard. For this purpose, several kind of real-time reactive power/power factor compensating equipments are introduced and SVG(Static Var Generator) as optimal compensating equipment that is suitable for load characteristics of substation in marshalling yard is suggested. This paper shows proper simulations by suggested equipment using PSIM software and describe basic compensating principle and simulation results. Optimal capacity design for applying current marshalling yard is based on real measured power quality data. Power quality improvement that is performed by SVG as real-time reactive power/power factor compensating equipment is estimated at electrical railway's substation in marshalling yard. As reference, real-time reactive power/power factor compensating equipment is composed by voltage source inverter and DC capacitors.

Method for Measuring Absolute Position of a Yard Crane for Port Automation (항만 자동화를 위한 야드 크레인의 절대위치 측정 기법)

  • Since 1960s. container shipping volume has increased dramatically and continuous on a trend of rapid growth, and so the number of containers handled at the port increases. In order to improve yard crane operating efficiency, the precise position measurement of the yard crane is important. This paper describes the method to measure the absolute position of yard crane using the output pulse of an encoder and infrared sensors. The crane position is calculated by counting the output pulse of an incremental encoder, which is mounted on the wheel in the crane. By the way, the wheel slippage on rail may cause some errors in crane position information obtained from encoder pulses, and the errors in the crane position information are compensated with infrared sensors. The performance of proposed method is verified on experimental results with the simulator of yard crane, the size of which is about 1/10 with the real crane.
