Studies on the Shape Optimization of Connecting Element for Hydro-Embedding (하이드로 임베딩시 체결용 연결요소의 형상 최적화 연구)

  • The applicability and productivity of hydroforming process can be increased by combining pre- and post-forming processes such as the bending, piercing and embedding process. For the fabrication of automotive parts, the hollow bodies with connecting nuts are widely used to connect parts together. Hollow body with connecting nuts has been conventionally fabricated by welding nuts or screwing in autobody screws. It requires multiple steps and devices fur the welding and/or screwing Therefore in this study, hydro-embedding process that combines the hydraulic embedding of connecting element(nut) with hydroforming process is investigated. Studies on the hydro-embedding technology have been performed to optimize the shape of the connecting element by analyzing the deformed mode of the embedded tube The effects of the shape of the screw tip, screw thread and shape of thread on the connection force between the tube and the connecting element have been investigated to optimize the shape of connecting element. Finite element analysis has also been performed to provide deformation behaviors of the tube surrounding a hole produced by hydro-embedding.

  • Radiologists who experience extravasation of the contrast medium even once suffer mentally during testing due to the fear of its reoccurrence. Establishing a plan for preventing it beforehand is necessary above all because patients experience severe physical and mental pain and become distrusting of medical staff and treatment. Therefore, the present study attempts to prevent extravasation, which is the result of damage from pressure applied to the patient's blood vessels, by lowering PSI, and conducted a comparative analysis of PSI changes during contrast medium injection depending on the diameter of the Y-shape connecting tube which connects the automatic injector and the intravenous injection of the patient. In the case of product A in which the diameter of the Y-shape connecting tube is about 2mm, the average PSI for all ages was 98.5 and standard deviation was 9.72. In the case of product B in which the diameter of the Y-shape connecting tube is about 3mm, the average PSI for all ages was 62.0 and standard deviation was 8.59. Product B with its wider diameter decreased in average pressure by 37.05% when compared to product A, and when product B is used with the p-value at 0.00, pressure decreased even more, achieving statistically significant results.

  • The Ceramic Metal Halide lamp is different from optical characteristic on shapes of arc-tube and driving method of ballast. In this paper, we measured optical characteristics of the Ceramic Metal Halide lamp that uses arc tubes which are spherical and cylindrical shapes, and analyzed the Ceramic Metal Halide lamp connecting ballast that is electronic and magnetic types through the lamp measurement system that is given for stabilization period of fifteen minutes. In result, the arc-tube of spherical shape is more improvement in the optical properties than the arc tube of cylindrical shape, moreover, the electronic ballast is more efficient than the optical properties of the magnetic ballast.

  • The purpose of this study is to experimentally investigate the structural performance of concrete exterior beam-column joints confined by carbon sheet tube. Four specimens were produced with different numbers of carbon sheet and the other specimen was produced with reinforced concrete. A hydraulic dynamic actuator with 30tonf capacity was used to cyclic lateral loading test. The experimental results represent that the numbers of carbon sheet have an influence the load and displacement capacity. However, the bond length of carbon sheets for connecting beam and column has to be considered to improve the capacity of joint.

A study on the influence of Baekje costumes on Japanese costumes in ancient times (일본 고대 복식에 미친 백제복식의 영향)

  • In ancient times, immigrants from Baekje wore various kinds of costumes that provided technological and aesthetic guidance for the Japanese costume, which has been modified and changed in Japan. The clothing and ornaments were strongly influenced directly by costumes of the Baekje period; therefore, many of the Japanese costumes at that time were crafted in the Baekje style. Through the antique records, paintings of tombs and bequests, we were able to find similarities between Baekje and Japan costumes in these categories: clothes, headgear, belt hooks and belt plaques, bronze shoes, and ornaments. (1) Clothes : They wore high-shaped hat and jacket and trousers(;袴) tied the bottom. (2) Headgear : There was a gilt bronze Conical Cap attached to the long tube with terminals in the shape of a hemisphere. (3) Belt hooks and belt plaques: There were horse-shaped belt hooks in mane styles and a checkered pattern on the lower part of the haunch and a belt Plaque shaped like the face of an animal. (4) Gilt bronze shoes: They were made with the style that had two side plates fixed in the instep side and heel-side. (5) Ornaments : They were made with flower-shaped plaques and spiral-shaped decorations. One earring was made with a three-winged pendent that were connected in a chain style and the others were in unique forms that were made by connecting narrow rings and a heart-shaped pendent.

A CFD Analysis of Flow Velocity at Inlet of a Diesel Particulate Filter according to the Curved Duct Connection Conditions (곡관 연결 조건에 따른 디젤엔진 매연여과장치 입구 유속 분포의 CFD 해석)

  • The now velocity distribution at inlet of diesel Particulate filter (DPF) which is connected to each curved duct was simulated using $STAR-CD^{(R)}$. Three kinds of models which describe the shapes of the curved duct ware used for the CFD simulation. The simulation results were compared with the experimental data of velocity distribution which was obtained using a Pitot tube and 2-D positioning machine. At the $90^{\circ}$ curved connecting condition, the CFD simulation results of flow velocity distribution at inlet of the DPF showed a horse hoop shape shifted from the axial center line of the DPF. The CFD simulation results agree reasonably with those of the experiments.
