Development of high performance LTPS TFTs contributed to open up new SOP technology with various digital circuits integrated in display panels. This work introduces the current mode logic(CML) gate design method with which one can replace slow CMOS logic gates. The CML inverter exhibited small logic swing, fast response with high power consumption. But the power consumption became compatible with CMOS gates at higher clock speed. Due to small current values in CML, layout area is smaller than the CMOS counterpart even though CML uses larger number of devices. CML exhibited higher noise immunity thanks to its non-inverting and inverting outputs. Multi-input NAND/AND and NOR/OR gates were implemented by the same circuit architecture with different input confirugation. Same holds for MUX and XNOR/XOR CML gates. We concluded that the CML gates can be designed with few simple circuits and they can improve power consumption, chip area, and speed of operation.

The choice of basis for representation of element in $GF(2^m)$ affects the efficiency of a multiplier. Among them, a multiplier using redundant representation efficiently supports trade-off between the area complexity and the time complexity since it can quickly carry out modular reduction. So time of a previous multiplier using redundant representation is faster than time of multiplier using others basis. But, the weakness of one has a upper space complexity compared to multiplier using others basis. In this paper, we propose a new efficient multiplier with consideration that polynomial exponentiation operations are frequently used in cryptographic hardwares. The proposed multiplier is suitable fer left-to-right exponentiation environment and provides efficiency between time and area complexity. And so, it has both time delay of $T_A+({\lceil}{\log}_2m{\rceil})T_x$ and area complexity of (2m-1)(m+s). As a result, the proposed multiplier reduces $2(ms+s^2)$ compared to the previous multiplier using equally-spaced polynomials in area complexity. In addition, it reduces $T_A+({\lceil}{\log}_2m+s{\rceil})T_x$ to $T_A+({\lceil}{\log}_2m{\rceil})T_x$ in the time complexity.($T_A$:Time delay of one AND gate, $T_x$:Time delay of one XOR gate, m:Degree of equally spaced irreducible polynomial, s:spacing factor)

This paper presents an optimization algorithm and technique for designing parallel Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) circuit, which is most widely adopted for error detection A new heuristic algorithm is developed to find as many shared terms as possible, thus eventually to minimize the number and level of the exclusive-or logic blocks in parallel CRC circuits. 16-bit and 32-bit CRC generators are designed with different types of Programmable Logic Devices, and it has been found that our new algorithm and architecture significantly reduce the delay.

In this paper a new architecture of 24-bit two's complement adder is designed by using RB(Redundant Binary) arithmetic which has the advantage of CPF(Carry-Propagation-Free). A MPPL(Modified PPL) XOR/XNOR gate is applied to improve a TC2RB(Two's Complement to RB SUM converter) speed and to reduce the number of transistors, and we proposed two types adder which used a fast RB2TC(RB SUM to Two's Complement converter). The property of two types adder is followings. The improvement of TYPE 1 adder speed is archived through the use of VGS(Variable Group Select) method and TYPE 2 adder is through the use of a 64-bit GCG(Group Change bit Generator) circuit and a 8-bit TYPE 1 adder. For 64-bit, TYPE 1 adder can be expected speed improvement of 23.5%, 25.7% comparing with the CLA and CSA, and TYPE 2 adder can be expected 41.2%, 45.9% respectively. The propagation delay of designed 24-bit TYPE 1 adder is 1.4ns and TYPE 2 adder is 1.2ns. The implementation is highly regular with repeated modules and is very well suited for microprocessor systems and fast DSP units.

In H/W implementation for the finite field, the use of normal basis has several advantages, especially the optimal normal basis is the most efficient to H/W implementation in $GF(2^m)$. The finite field $GF(2^m)$ with type I optimal normal basis(ONB) has the disadvantage not applicable to some cryptography since m is even. The finite field $GF(2^m)$ with type II ONB, however, such as $GF(2^{233})$ are applicable to ECDSA recommended by NIST. In this paper, we propose a bit-parallel multiplier over $GF(2^m)$ having a type II ONB, which performs multiplication over $GF(2^m)$ in the extension field $GF(2^{2m})$. The time and area complexity of the proposed multiplier is the same as or partially better than the best known type II ONB bit-parallel multiplier.
This paper describes the design and implementation of 8 bit ALU graphic simulator which helps students who study the structure and operation course of general ALU. ALU of this paper consists of three parts, arithmetic circuit, logic circuit, and shifter. Each of them performs as follows. Arithmetic circuit performs arithmetic operation such as addition, subtraction, 1 increment, 1 decrement, 2's complement, logic circuit performs logic operation such as OR, AND, XOR, NOT, and shifter performs shift operation and transfers the result of circuits of arithmetic, logic to data bus. The instructions which relate to these basic ALU functions was selected from Z80 instructions and ALU circuit was designed with those instructions and this designed ALU circuit was implemented on graphic screen. And all state of this data operation course in ALU was showed by bit and logic gate unit.

This paper describes a design of an elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) processor that supports five pseudo-random curves and five Koblitz curves over binary field defined by the NIST standard. The ECC processor adopts the Lopez-Dahab projective coordinate system so that scalar multiplication is computed with modular multiplier and XORs. A word-based Montgomery multiplier of $32-b{\times}32-b$ was designed to implement ECCs of various key lengths using fixed-size hardware. The hardware operation of the ECC processor was verified by FPGA implementation. The ECC processor synthesized using a 0.18-um CMOS cell library occupies 10,674 gate equivalents (GEs) and 9 Kbits RAM at 100 MHz, and the estimated maximum clock frequency is 154 MHz.

The amount of data generated by electronic systems through e-commerce, social networks, and data computation has risen. However, the security of data has always been a challenge. The problem is not with the quantity of data but how to secure the data by ensuring its confidentiality and privacy. Though there are several research on cloud data security, this study proposes a security scheme with the lowest execution time. The approach employs a non-linear time complexity to achieve data confidentiality and privacy. A symmetric algorithm dubbed the Non-Deterministic Cryptographic Scheme (NCS) is proposed to address the increased execution time of existing cryptographic schemes. NCS has linear time complexity with a low and unpredicted trend of execution times. It achieves confidentiality and privacy of data on the cloud by converting the plaintext into Ciphertext with a small number of iterations thereby decreasing the execution time but with high security. The algorithm is based on Good Prime Numbers, Linear Congruential Generator (LGC), Sliding Window Algorithm (SWA), and XOR gate. For the implementation in C, thirty different execution times were performed and their average was taken. A comparative analysis of the NCS was performed against AES, DES, and RSA algorithms based on key sizes of 128kb, 256kb, and 512kb using the dataset from Kaggle. The results showed the proposed NCS execution times were lower in comparison to AES, which had better execution time than DES with RSA having the longest. Contrary, to existing knowledge that execution time is relative to data size, the results obtained from the experiment indicated otherwise for the proposed NCS algorithm. With data sizes of 128kb, 256kb, and 512kb, the execution times in milliseconds were 38, 711, and 378 respectively. This validates the NCS as a Non-Deterministic Cryptographic Algorithm. The study findings hence are in support of the argument that data size does not determine the execution.
