Mobile Web Service Architecture Using Context-store

  • Web Services allow a user to integrate applications from different platforms and languages. Since mobile applications often run on heterogeneous platforms and conditions, Web Service becomes a popular solution for integrating with server applications. However, because of its verbosity, XML based SOAP messaging gives the possible overhead to the less powerful mobile devices. Based on the mobile client's behavior that it usually exchanges messages with Web Service continuously in a session, we design the Handheld Flexible Representation architecture. Our proposed architecture consists of three main components: optimizing message representation by using a data format language (Simple_DFDL), streaming communication channel to reduce latency and the Context-store to store context information of a session as well as redundant parts of the messages. In this paper, we focus on the Context-store and describe the architecture with the Context-store for improving the performance of mobile Web Service messaging. We verify our approach by conducting various evaluations and investigate the performance and scalability of the proposed architecture. The empirical results show that we save 40% of transit time between a client and a service by reducing the message size. In contrast to solutions for a single problem such as the compression or binarization, our architecture addresses the problem at a system level. Thus, by using the Context-store, we expect reliable recovery from the fault condition and enhancing interoperability as well as improving the messaging performance.

  • In this paper, we implement a distributed computing environment-based travel information service that can use web(internet) and speech interface at the same time and can apply location information, using voice and web browser-based VoiceXML and GPS, to escape the limitations of traditional web(internet)-based travel information services. Because of IVR(Interactive Voice Response) of traditional call center has operated to a pre-installation scenario, it takes much a service time and has the inconveniences that must repeat speech recording according to the revised scenarios in case change response contents. However, suggested VoiceXML and GPS-based travel information service system has advantages that reorganization of system setups is easy, because it consists of the method to update server after make individual conversation scenarios by file format(document), and can provide usefully various travel information in environmental restriction conditions such as the back regions environment, according as our prototype find user's present location using GPS information and then provide various travel information service by this information.

  • Location-based services or LBS refer to value-added service by processing information utilizing mobile user location. With the rapidly increasing wireless Internet subscribers and world LBS market, the various location based applications are introduced such as buddy finder, proximity and security services. As the killer application of the wireless Internet, the LBS have reconsidered technology about location determination technology, LBS middleware server for various application, and diverse contents processing technology. However, there are fears that this new wealth of personal location information will lead to new security risks, to the invasion of the privacy of people and organizations. This paper describes a novel security approach on open LBS service to validate certificate based on current LBS platform environment using XKMS (XML Key Management Specification) and SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language), XACML (extensible Access Control Markup Language) in XML security mechanism.

  • At the present day, increasing the web service requirements, along with making XML program easy to create and manage, XML program which progress the research of related technologies enables developer the number of benefits. In order to create XML Documents which include structure that compose documents as well as data, it must have defined about DTD or XML schema that display structure of data. In this study, herewith suggest the design and implementation of method that can be automatically created XML Schema and XML Stylesheet using the web-based XML Tree.

  • Today, XML is widely used to present structured data and its importance has been expanded much in the web environment. Generally, we exchange XML documents to process XML-based data in distributed processing environments like a CORBA. But we need to configure CORBA environments to process XML documents. The system that has initially been designed to process XML is required. If there is no such system, we should configure most parts of the system, namely, IDL definition and CORBA client, CORBA server, implementation objects. In this paper, we propose a system that can apply an integration structure of web environment and CORBA without any additional configuration. Our proposed system can support various service types, namely, Also it can offer extensibility to legacy system with CORBA by using servlet and SOAP. Our proposed system can extend the structure to integrate XML with CORBA, Hence the web platform environment that applies this architecture can support much easier integration with CORBA environment.

  • A PDA has limitation of storage space and inconvenience of Pen-based equipment to input. To solve these problems, this paper implemented that previous Speech Recognition provides using XML(extensile Markup Language) Web Service and PDA Client is possible to use speech command by request Speech Recognition Web Service. This system consists of Mobile Client and Speech Recognition Web Service Provider. The Mobile Client transmits user information and speech data to the Speech Recognition Web Service Provider using DIME(Direct Internet Message Encapsulation). The Speech Recognition Web Service Provider returns recognition results and user name only to an authorized Mobile Client. So We are able to use speech service without installing Speech Recognition or Speech DB in PDA.

  • It is certain that the future manufacturing environment will be network-centric and spatially distributed based on Internet. Today, wide variety of distributed computing and communication technologies are available for implementing a system for product data exchange and sharing. One of the technologies that have been received most attentions for product data exchange and sharing is Product Data Management (PDM). PDM tries to integrate and manage process of data and technical documents that are connected to physical product components. In accordance to previous researches about PDM, it can be regarded as an integration tool of many different areas, which ensures that the right information is available to the right person at the right time and in the right form throughout the enterprise. PDM with Web-enabled CAD system is proposed in this paper in order to acknowledge the usefulness of the system mentioned. The system will use Web service on Visual Studio C#.Net to invoke the web application system.

  • Specially, location information can say that is important information in this ubiquitous environment and solutions of new GIS system to utilize this are required. Examine method to improve web geography information service system because this paper uses XML and presented specific implementation result. Through internet. it planed various geography information that offer in form of service that do not receive restriction of heterogeneous system environment. Also, did thing that is easy when request service about geography information that user need and deliver fast by purpose. Supplement and to improve open-ended and XML of form normalized use and developed existent web geography information service. So that can use map service in web browser without setup of application program that buy expensive GIS software or offer in each company design and implement.

  • vCard that is the electronic business card automates the exchange of personal information typically found on a traditional business card. vCard information contains not only simple text, but also graphics and multimedia data like pictures, company logos, Web addresses, and so on. This paper describes the design and implementation of Web-based vCard agent system for exchanging vCard, an electronic business card and searching another user's vCard in mobile phone environment. In today's business environment, such as that this information is typically exchanged on business cards. Our web agent system in this paper connect web server which provide vCard service and search, edit vCard information displayed by web browser of mobile phone and exchange vCard with another user through internet. Considering characteristics of wireless devices that have limited storage space, It also saves constructed XML documents that include user's informations in a web server and solves the security problem by exchanging not personal data or XML but encrypted directory name where XML document exits as exchanging vcard.

  • Incorporating proprietary existing it solutions like legacy systems or vendor specific with new technologies is an expensive and time consuming task. Such situations take place due to the lack of ability of proprietary software to cooperate with other parties or to cooperation only with specific vendor products. Such a situation is undesirable and causes a prolonged adaptation period for new applications. This thesis is to show the new approach to creation of Internet applications in Service Oriented Architecture through loose coupling, introduces fare more flexibility into a system composed of connected applications. This approach allows one to integrate through XML based Web Service and reuse a number of arbitrary services available over the Internet in a complex processes specified as a workflow model.
