Separation Reaction Characteristics of Boron Ion by Ion Exchange Method (이온교환법을 이용한 해수 중 붕소이온 분리 반응 특성)

  • In this study, it was investigated on the boron separation ken synthetically prepared seawater. ion exchange resin used in the experiments was Amberlite IRA 743, containing glucamine functional group. The experiments were carried out as a function of the conditions of the pH, boron initial concentration and temperature of seawater in a batch reactor. As a result, optimum conditions for boron adsorption were at pH 8.5 and 313 K, respectively. The adsorption rate was increased very fast with increasing the temperature, but decreased with increasing the initial concentration of boron. Also, the kinetics for boron adsorption applied the pseudo-second order model, as follows: $$\frac{X}{1-X}=780[C_0]^{-1.65}t^{1.48}\;exp\;({-\frac{17883}{RT}}\)\;;\;pH8.5$$

The α-Effect in Nucleophilic Substitution Reactions of Y-Substituted-Phenyl X-Substituted-Cinnamates with Butane-2,3-dione Monoximate

  • Second-order rate constants ($k_{Ox^-}$) have been measured spectrophotometrically for nucleophilic substitution reactions of 4-nitrophenyl X-substituted-cinnamates (7a-7e) and Y-substituted-phenyl cinnamates (8a-8e) with butane-2,3-dione monoximate ($Ox^-$) in 80 mol % $H_2O$/20 mol % DMSO at $25.0{\pm}0.1^{\circ}C$. The Hammett plot for the reactions of 7a-7e consists of two intersecting straight lines while the Yukawa-Tsuno plot exhibits an excellent linearity with ${\rho}_X$=0.85 and r=0.58, indicating that the nonlinear Hammett plot is not due to a change in the rate-determining step but is caused by resonance stabilization of the ground state (GS) of the substrate possessing an electron-donating group (EDG). The Br${\o}$nsted-type plot for the reactions of Y-substituted-phenyl cinnamates (8a-8e) is linear with ${\beta}_{lg}$ = -0.64, which is typical of reactions reported previously to proceed through a concerted mechanism. The ${\alpha}$-nucleophile ($Ox^-$) is more reactive than the reference normal-nucleophile ($4-ClPhO^-$). The magnitude of the ${\alpha}$-effect (i.e., the $k_{Ox^-}/k_{4-ClPhO^-}$ ratio) is independent of the electronic nature of the substituent X in the nonleaving group but increases linearly as the substituent Y in the leaving group becomes a weaker electron-withdrawing group (EWG). It has been concluded that the difference in solvation energy between $Ox^-$ and $4-ClPhO^-$ (i.e., GS effect) is not solely responsible for the ${\alpha}$-effect but stabilization of transition state (TS) through a cyclic TS structure contributes also to the Y-dependent ${\alpha}$-effect trend (i.e., TS effect).

  • The $(NH_4)_2\;SO_4$ (70%) treated crude enzymes from the culture filtrates of the$C-7^{+t}$ strain of Pyricularia oryzae which was grown on 2% CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) for 8 days at $28^{\circ}C$ were chromatographied on Sephadex G-150 and DEAE-Sephadex A-25 columns. From the chromatography, three fractions of CMCase$(C_x)$ was examined using Na-CMC as substrate. The $C_x$ enzyme activity was optimal at pH 6.0 and $40^{\circ}C$, stable up to $40^{\circ}C$. The values of Km and Vmax of the enzyme were $2.8{\times}10\;mM$ and 5.9m moles/hour, respectively. The molecular weight determined by Sephadex G-150 column chromatography was around 80,000. Approximately sevenfold purified $C_x$ enzyme gave a single protein band on the polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

Crystal Structure of Lithium Heptaborate, $Li_3B_7O_12$ ($Li_3B_7O_12$의 결정구조)

  • Single crystals of lithium heptaborate, Li3B7O12(M=288.49), have been grown and their structure was determined by the x-ray powder diffraction and the single crystal diffraction technique. It is found that the borate anion consists of two(B3O7)3- and (B3O8)5- groups a unit cell. The space group was determined to be P-1(Ci1) with a=6.500(3) Å, b=7.839(2) Å, c=8.512(1) Å, α=92.07(2)˚, β=104.97(2)˚, γ=99.35(3)˚, V=412.0(2) Å3, Z=2 Dx=2.32 g cm-3, MoKα, λ=0.71069 Å, μ=2.15cm-1, T=293K. The structure was refined to R=0.0339 and wR=0.0882 for 2296 unique reflections by the single crystal diffraction. By the x-ray powder diffraction, we could obtain the similar results.

Phase Constitution of the Palladium and Tellurium System (팰래듐과 테루리움계의 상평형 연구)

  • The Pd-Te system has been investigated by differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffration, electron probe microanalysis and reflected light microscopy. New phase relations in 0-50at% Te portion of the binary system are proposed. Eight binary phases exist in the system:Pd17Te4, Pd20Te7.PdsTe3, P477e3, P497e4, P637e2, PeTe and PaTe2. Of these, P677e3 is a newly reported phase. P4177e4 is cubic, space group Fd3c, with a=12.678(5)A. The X-ray powder data of PdsTe3, indexed on an orthorhombic cell, give a= 12.843(3), b=15.126(3), c: 11.304(2)A and those of PdTTe.1, indexed on a monoclinic cell, give a=7.444(1), b= 13.918(2) , c=8.873(2)A. p =92.46(2). Some physical and optical properties of synthetic phases in the system are also reported.

Study on the Utilization of Drinking Water Supply System of Air-water Heat Pumps Applicable to Laying Hen (산란계에 적용 가능한 공기-물 히트펌프의 음용수 공급시스템 이용기술에 관한 연구)

  • The drinking water supply system applicable to the laying hen consists of air-water heat pumps, drinking water tanks, heat stroage tank, circulation pumps, PE pipes, nipples, and control panels. When the heat pump system has power of 7.7 to 8.7 kW per hour, the performance coefficient is between 3.1 and 3.5. The supply temperature from the heat pump to the heat stroage tank was stabilized at about $12{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, but the return temperature showed a variation of from 8 to $14^{\circ}C$. Stratified temperature in the storage tank appeared at $12.^{\circ}C$, $13.5^{\circ}C$ and $14.4^{\circ}C$, respectively. The drinking water supply temperature remained set at $15^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, and the conventional tap water showed a variation for $23^{\circ}C$ to $30^{\circ}C$. As chickens grow older, the amount of food intake and drinking water increased. $y=-0.0563x^2+4.7383x+8.743$, $R^2=0.98$ and the feed intake showed $y=-0.1013x^2+8.5611x$. In the future, further studies will need to figure out the cooling effect on heat stress of livestock.

  • To study the relationships between soybean seed yield and meteorological elements, the investigation into the important agronomic characters of Bongeui cultivar and climatic factors such as precipitation, rainy days, and temperature from 1970 to 1981 was made. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1) Coefficients of variabilities for pod-filling rate, seed yield, number of pods per plant, and seed weight were about 38%, 30%, 30%, and 5.5%, respectively. 2) Weather conditions mainly in July and August influenced soybean production. Particularly, high temperature played an important role in soybean yield reduction. 3) Correlation coefficients between maximum, minimum, or average temperature of July (and, in the case of August, maximum temperature only) and yield or seed weight, and between those of August and podfilling rate were significantly negative. 4) Regression equations between average temperature of July or maximum temperature of August and yield were Y=-42.46X +1200.86 and Y=-37.95X + 1210.42, respectively. 5) High temperature during the flowering stage affected soybean seed yield reduction significantly.

  • A digital $(k_0,\;k_1)$-homotopy is induced from digital $(k_0,\;k_1)$-continuity with the n kinds of $k_i$-adjacency relations in ${\mathbb{Z}}^n$, $i{\in}\{0,\;1\}$. The k-fundamental group, ${\pi}^k_1(X,\;x_0)$, is derived from the pointed digital k-homotopy, $k{\in}\{3^n-1(n{\geq}2),\;3^n-{\sum}^{r-2}_{k=0}C^n_k2^{n-k}-1(2{\leq}r{\leq}n-1(n{\geq}3)),\;2n(n{\geq}1)\}$. In this paper two kinds of digital 8-pseudotori stemmed from the minimal simple closed 4-curve and the minimal simple closed 8-curve with 8-contractibility or without 8-contractibility, e.g., $DT_8$ and $DT^{\prime}_8$, are introduced and their digital topological properties are studied by the calculation of the k-fundamental groups, $k{\in}\{8,\;32,\;64,\;80\}$.

Microwave Dielectric Properties of $TiTe_3O_8$ Ceramics with addition at $CaF_2$ ($CaF_2$ 첨가에 따른 $TiTe_3O_8$ 세라믹스의 마이크로파 유전특성)

  • The microwave dielectric properties of $TiTe_3O_8-CaF_2$ ceramics were investigated. All sample of $TiTe_3O_8-CaF_2$ ceramics were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method, and sintered in the temperature of $730^{\circ}C{\sim}750^{\circ}C$. The structural properties of $TiTe_3O_8-CaF_2$ ceramics were investigated by the X-ray diffractor meter. According to the X-ray diffraction patterns of $TiTe_3O_8-CaF_2$ ceramics, the major phase of the cubic $TiTe_3O_8$ were presented. In the case of $1molTiTe_3O_8-0.1molCaF_2$ ceramics sintered at $740^{\circ}C$ for 5hr., the bulk density, dielectric constant, quality factor were $2.8g/cm^3$, 39.1, 36.100GHz, respectively.
