Ni/Si 기판을 사용하여 성장시킨 비결정질 $SiO_x$ 나노 와이어의 성장 메커니즘 (Direct synthesis mechanism of amorphous $SiO_x$ nanowires from Ni/Si substrate)

  • Vapor phase epitaxy(VPE)법을 사용하여 amorphous $SiO_x$. nanowires를 성장시켰다. Ni thin film을 촉매로 사용하여 Si 기판위에 $800{\sim}1100^{\circ}C$ 범위의 온도에서 성장시켰으며, $SiO_x$ nanowires의 성장 메커니즘은 Vapor-liquid-solid(VLS)으로 확인되었다. $SiO_x$ nanowires의 shape와 morphology는 scanning electron microscope(SEM)으로 분석하였으며, cotton-like형태이고 길이는 $10{\mu}m$정도였다. 그리고 구조적 특징은 transmission electron microscope(TEM)으로 관찰하였고, $SiO_x$ nanowires의 성분 분석은 energy dispersed X-ray spectroscopy(EDS)로 하였다. EDX spectrum으로 nanowires가 Si와 O로 구성되어졌음을 확인하였다.

콩고민주공화국 동-코발트 광석의 광물학적 특정 (Mineralogy of Cu-Co Ores from Democratic Republic of Congo)

  • 콩고민주공화국의 중앙아프리카 구리광화대에서 수입하는 Cu-Co 광석의 광물학적 특성을 X-선 회절 분석, 2차원 X-선 회절 분석과 전자현미분석에 의하여 연구하였다. 검은색 광석은 코발트 광석광물인 헤테로제나이트와 구리 광석광물인 공작석, 초록색 광석은 공작석으로 주로 구성된다. 헤테로제나이트는 반사 현미경 하에서 매우 밝은 흰색을 나타내며 X-선 회절 분석에서는 $4.39{\AA}$$2.316{\AA}$ 피크를 가지는 3R 다형으로 확인된다. 그러나 전형적인 3R형에 비하여 낮은 NiO와 $Fe_20_3$의 함량으로 미루어 보아, 3R 다형 이외에 2H 다형도 일부 존재하는 것으로 판단된다. 공작석은 반사 현미경하에서 밝은 회색을 나타내며, 화학식은 $Cu_{1.97}Co_{0.02}Fe^{2+}{_{0.01}}CO_3(OH)_2$이다. 헤테로제나이트와 공작석은 중앙아프리카 구리광화대의 광화작용 중 최후기인 표성부화기에 형성되었으며, 코발트는 일차 광석보다는 표성작용에 의하여 형성된 (산)수산화 광석에 더 많이 부화되었을 것으로 추정된다.

백색 LED용 Ca3MgSi2O8:Eu2+ 백색 형광체의 발광특성 (Luminescent Characteristics of Eu2+- Doped Ca3MgSi2O8:Eu2+ White Phosphors for LED)

  • $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$(x = 0.003, 0.005, 0.007, 0.01, 0.03 mol) white phosphors for Light Emitting Diodes(LED) are synthesized with different concentrations of $Eu^{2+}$ ions using a solid state reaction method. The crystal structures, surface and optical properties of the phosphors are investigated using X-Ray Diffraction(XRD), Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and photoluminescence(PL). The X-Ray Diffraction results reveals that the crystal structure of the $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$ is a monoclinic system. The particle size of $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$ white phosphors is about $1{\sim}5{\mu}m$, as confirmed by SEM images. The maximum emission spectra of the phosphors are observed at 0.01 mol $Eu^{2+}$ concentration. The decrease in PL intensity in the $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$ white phosphors with $Eu^{2+}$ concentration is interpreted by concentration quenching. The International Commission on Illumination(CIE) coordinate of 0.01 mol Eu doped $Ca_3MgSi_2O_8$ is X = 0.2136, Y = 0.3771.

형광체 기반 X선 광 변조기를 위한 비정질 셀레늄 필름 특성 (Characterization of the a-Se Film for Phosphor based X-ray light Modulator)

  • PXLM(Phosphor based x-ray light modulator) has a combined structure by phosphor, photoconductor, and liquid crystal and it can realize x-ray image of high resolution in clinical diagnosis area. In this study, we fabricated a photoconductor and investigated electrical and optical properties to confirm application possibility of radiator detector of PXLM structure. As photoconductor, amorphous selenium(a-Se), which is used most in DR(Digital radiography) of direct conversion method, was used and for formation of thin film, it was formed as $20{\mu}m-thick$ by using thermal vacuum evaporation system. For a produced a-Se film, through XRD(X-ray diffraction) and SEM(Scanning electron microscope), we investigated that amorphous structure was uniformly established and through optical measurement, for visible light of 40 $0\sim630nm$, it had absorption efficiency of 95 % and more. After fabricated a-Se film on the top of ITP substrate, hybrid structure was manufactured through forming $Gd_2O_3:Eu$ phosphor of $270{\mu}m-thick$ on the bottom of the substrate. As the result to confirm electrical property of the manufactured hybrid structure, in the case of appling $10V/{\mu}m$, leakage current of $2.5nA/cm^2$ and x-ray sensitivity of $7.31nC/cm^2/mR$ were investigated. Finally, we manufactured PXLM structure combined with hybrid structure and liquid crystal cell of TN(Twisted nematic) mode and then, investigated T-V(Transmission vs. voltage) curve of external light source for induced x-ray energy. PXLM structure showed a similar optical response with T-V curve that common TN mode liquid crystal cell showed according to electric field increase and in appling $50\sim100V$, it showed linear transmission efficiency of $12\sim18%$. This result suggested an application possibility of PXLM structure as radiation detector.

비대칭(非對稱) 필름-스크린 시스템에 관한 검토(檢討) (Evaluation of Asymetric Film-Screen System)

  • Asymetric system have been introduced in these years by KODAK company nam of Insight system for the purpose of improve the chest image. We have had a problem of chest radiology that it is very difficult to visualize the lung field and modiastinal region at one shot. That's why we are the RT using the technique of high voltage hard quality radiography in chest radiography. Also it is known the c-type wide latitude film can lift up the density of mediastinal structures. Authors investigated the photographic characteristics and physical structure of Insight system. Method 1. Investigated the structure of Emulsion layer. Calculated the particle size of Insight system using SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope). 2. Photographic characteristics has been compared the Insight system with the ortho KM/MG combination in $60{\sim}120kV$ range. Results 1. The particle size of backside film were investigated about 2 times larger that of front side film. 2. The front and backscreen's thickness ratio was detected 1 : 3.87, that the backscreen's thickness was thicker than frontscreen. 3. At the view point of photographic characteristics the frontside of insight system make up the contrast, backside make up the density at low exposure lesion.

$CaWO_4$$Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb 증감지의 형광체 형태와 사진감도 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Photographic Characteristics Related to the Morphology of Phosphor Layers in the $CaWO_4$ and $Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb Screen)

  • Recently, various screen film system have been introduced in diagnostic radiology. There are two kinds of screen film system : blue emitting $CaWO_4$ screen has been largely used in these days. However, it tends to be changed to use green emitting $Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb screen. In this study, photographic characteristics of $CaWO_4$ and $Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb screen were investigated with luminescence, spectroscopy. The morphology of $CaWO_4$ and $Gd_2O_2S$ : Tb were also observed by using scanning electron microscope. The result obtained were as follows : 1. There was small difference in the thickness of phosphor layers for the front and back screen of blue emitting system, but little difference in those of green emitting system. 2. There was no difference in the size of phosphor particles between the front and back screen for each screen. However, the particle size was different for the various kinds of screens. 3. The shape of phosphor particle was round with many faces for all the screens. 4. In the exposure of X-ray with the same intensity, luminescent intensity of a green emitting system was $6{\sim}7$ times larger than that of a blue emitting system. 5. The thickness of phosphor layers does not affect on the sensitivity of the screens exposed by X-ray.

알콕시 곁사슬기가 비페닐렌구조를 갖는 전방향족 액정폴리에스터의 물성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Alkoxy Side Chain on the Properties of Wholly Aromatic Liquid Crystalline Polyesters with Biphenylene Units)

  • 유연한 알콕시 곁사슬을 갖는 전방향족 폴리에스터가 direct polycondensation에 의하여 합성되었으며, 합성된 중합체들은 $^1H$-NMR, FT-IR, DSC, TGA, 편광현미경 및 X-ray 분석기에 의하여 조사되었다. 1,1,2,2-테트라클로로에탄(TCE)을 용매로 사용하여 측정된 중합체의 고유점성도(${\eta}_{inh}$)는 0.46~2.41 dL/g의 값을 나타내었다. 곁사슬을 갖는 중합체들은 두 개의 용융전이 즉, 고체상-sanidic 액정상으로의 전이 ($T_{m1}$)와 sanidic 액정상-nematic 액정상으로의 전이 ($T_{m2}$)를 나타내었으며, 알콕시 곁사슬의 길이가 증가함에 따라 상전이온도들은 감소하고, 유기용매에 의한 용해도는 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. X-ray 분석에서, $2{\theta}\;{\simeq}5$$2{\theta}\;{\simeq}20$ 피이크는 각각 중합체 주사슬과 긴 곁사슬의 결정화에 의한 것으로 나타났다.

고해상도 방사선 영상을 위한 $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ 나노 형광체 제조 및 광학적 특성 (Fabrication of $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ Nano Phosphor and Optical Characteristics for High Resolution Radiation Imaging)

  • In this paper, we have synthesized $Gd_2O_3:Eu^{3+}$ nano phosphor particle using a low temperature solution-combustion method. We have investigated the structure and the luminescent characteristic as the sintering temperature and europium concentration. From XRD(X-ray diffraction) and SEM(scanning electron microscope) results, we have verified that the phosphor particle was fabricated a spherical shape with $30{\sim}40nm$ particle size. From the photoluminescence results, the strong peak exhibits at 611 um and the luminescent intensity depends on europium concentration. $Gd_2O_3:Eu$ fine phosphor particle has shown excellent luminescent efficiency at 5 wt% of europium concentration. The phosphors calcinated at $500^{\circ}C$ have possessed the x-ray peaks corresponding to the cubic phase of $Gd_2O_3$. As calcinations temperature increased to $700^{\circ}C$, the new monoclinic phase has identified except cubic patterns. From the luminescent decay time measurements, mean lifetimes were $2.3{\sim}2.6ms$ relatively higher than conventional bulk phosphors. These results indicate that $Gd_2O_3:Eu$ nano phosphor is possible for the operation at the low x-ray dose, therefore, the application as medical imaging detector.

전자빔 증착 Co/Pt 다층박막에서 입사 선속의 방향에 따른 자기 및 자기광학적 성질 변화 연구 (Dependence of Magnetic and Magneto-Optic Properties on Deposition Angle in E-Beam EVaporated Co/Pt Multilayer Films)

  • 전자빔 증착 Co/Pt 다층박막에서 증발원자의 입사방향이 자기 및 자기광학적 성질에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 조성변조 Co/Pt 다층박막을 증발원자의 입사방향이 $0^{\circ},\;15^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;45^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}$이 되도록 하여 전자빔 증착법으로 제조한 후 x-ray 회절실험, 주사전자현미경으로 구조분석을 하였고, VSM, torque magnetometer, Kerr loop tracer를 사용하여 자기 및 자기광학적 성질을 조사하였다. x-ray 회절실험을 통해 모든 시료가 조성변조 다층박막 구조로 만들어졌음을 확인하였고, 입사각이 증가함에 따라 주상구조의 성장방향은 기판 수직선에서 벗어나지만 <111> 결정방향은 기판 수직선 가까이에 존재함이 관찰되었다. 포화자화값 $M_{s}$, Kerr회전각 ${\theta}k$는 입사각이 증가하면 줄어들었는데 이는 박막의 밀도 감소 때문이다. 자기이방성 또한 입사각의 증가에 따라 줄어들었다.

Enhanced Photocatalytic Disinfection Efficiency through TiO2/WO3 Composite Synthesis and Heat Treatment Optimization

  • This study focuses on improving the photocatalytic degradation efficiency by synthesizing a TiO2/WO3 composite. Given the environmental significance of photocatalysis and the limitations posed by TiO2's large bandgap and high electron recombination rate, we explored doping, surface modification, and synthesis strategies. The composite was created using a ball mill process and heat treatment, analyzed with field emission scanning electron microscope, high resolution X-ray diffraction, Raman microscope, and UV-Vis/NIR spectrometer to examine its morphology, composition and absorbance. We found that incorporating WO3 into the TiO2 lattice forms a Wx-Ti1-x-O2 solution, with optimal WO3 content reducing the band gap and enhancing sterilization efficiency by inhibiting the anatasese to rutile transition. This contributes to the field by offering a way to overcome TiO2's limitations and improve photocatalytic performance.
