  • We performed a spatially resolved spectroscopic study of the thermal composite supernova remnant 3C 391 by the Chandra observation. Broad- and narrow-band X-ray images show a southeast-northwest elongated morphology and unveil a highly clumpy structure of the remnant. The spectral analysis for. the small-scale features indicates normal metal abundance and uniform temperature for the interior gas. The properties of the hot gas are largely in agreement with the cloudlet evaporation model as a main mechanism for the 'thermal composite' X-ray appearance, though radiative rim and thermal conduction may also be effective. An unresolved X-ray source, with a power-law spectrum, is observed on the northwest border. The equivalent width images reveal a faint finger-like protrusion in Si and S lines out of the southwest radio border.

  • Kim & Beuermann (1995, 1996)have developed a model for the propagation of X-rays from the accreting white dwarfthrough the infalling material and the re-emission of the energy deposited by photo-absorption in the optical (and UV) spectral range. By using this model, we calculate the profiles of the $H_{\gamma}$ emission-line spectrum of intermediate polars. Photoabsorption of X-ray by the infalling material is the dominant process in forming the observed energy-dependent rotational modulation of the X-ray flux. X-ray and optical modulations are sensitive to model parameters in different ways. In principle, these dependencies allow us to obtain improved insight into the accretion geometry of the intermediate polars. We present results of our calculations and compare them with the $H{\beta}$ line spectrum(Kim & Beuermann 1996).

  • The spatial distribution of the scattered dose for mobile X-ray radiography is measured. The scattered X-ray exposures at the radius of 50, 100 and 150 cm from the irradiation center are 880, 180 and $50\;{\mu}R$, respectively. This scattered X-rays can be reduced to 60% by inserting the portable shield made by 0.4 mm copper sheet sandwiched in two plywoods.

  • The short time scale X-ray variability associated with the accretion disk around compact objects is complex and is vaguely understood. The study of the cross correlation function gives an insight into the energy dependent behavior of the variations and hence connected processes. Using high resolution RXTE data, we investigate the dynamical cross correlation function of an observation of a black hole source XTE J1550-564 in the steep power law state. The cross correlation between soft and hard X- ray energy bands revealed both correlated and anti-correlated delays (${\leq}{\pm}15s$) on a correlation time scale of 50 s. It was noticed that the observed delays were similar to the delays between X-ray and optical/IR bands in other black hole and neutron star sources. We discuss the possible mechanisms/processes to explain the observed delays in the dynamical CCF.

  • In order to identify peculiar X-ray sources, we select 442 sources with no counterparts in other wavelength bands (as of the year 1999) from the ROSAT All-Sky Survey Bright Source Catalog. We cross-correlate this initial list with the NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database, the USNO and WISE catalogs, and the HEASARC XRAY Master Catalog. Eventually, we are left with four unidentified sources with no counterparts in other wavelength bands. We present these four sources and their X-ray properties in this paper.

  • In exposuring x-rays, we can adjust three variables of kVp, mA and sec. The kVp is one of main factors affecting x-ray quality -peneterability. And miliampere-seconds is directly proportional to x-ray quantity. In this paper, we detected voltage variation of CdS, II-VI group semiconductor compounds, by kVp as the fundamental experiments of designing x-ray dosimeter. We exposured x-ray on the material from 40 to 100 kVp by increasing 2kVp using Shimadazu TH-500-125 Radio-Tex cx-s x-ray machine. We fixed miliampere -seconds to 100mA and 0.2 sec. After acquiring the raw data, we plotted the graph of kVp and voltage variation and figured slope value of 0.093 by regression. The standard deviation of voltage to kVp was 0.22. For the future study, the mAs variation study will be needed to investigate the connections between kVp and mAs in order to design x-ray dosimeter.

  • This paper describes the novel fabrication method of the high-aspect-ratio nano structure which is impossible by conventional method using a shadow mask and a Deep X-ray Lithography (DXRL). The shadow mask with $1{\mu}m-sized$ apertures is fabricated on the silicon membrane using a conventional UV-lithography. The size of aperture is reduced to 200nm by accumulated low stress silicon nitride using a LPCVD (low pressure chemical vapor deposition) process. The X-ray mask is fabricated by depositing absorber layer (Au, $3{\mu}m$) on the back side of nano shadow mask. The thickness of an absorber layer must deposit dozens micrometers to obtain contrast more than 100 for a conventional DXRL process. The thickness of $3{\mu}m-absorber$ layer can get sufficient contrast using a central beam stop method, blocking high energy X-rays. The nano circle and nano line, 200nm in diameter in width, respectively, were demonstrated 700nm in height with a negative photoresist of SU-8.

  • The study investigates the dose-dependent direct X-ray sensing characteristics of Brucinium benzilate (BB) and N-acetylglycine (NAG) organic crystals. BB and NAG were prepared as a slurry and deposited as a thick film on a patterned metal electrode. The X-ray induced photocurrent response was examined for various exposure doses using an intraoral pulsed 70 keV X-ray machine connected to a source meter. Subsequently, the morphological properties and thickness of the thick films were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). At a photon energy of 70 keV, the attenuation coefficient values for NAG and BB crystals were determined to be approximately 0.181 and 0.178 cm2/g, respectively. The X-ray stopping power of the crystals was measured using a suniray-2 X-ray imaging system. To evaluate the responsiveness of the sensors, the photocurrent sensitivity and noise equivalent dose rate (NED) were calculated for both thick films. The findings demonstrated a noteworthy capability of sensing low doses (mGy), thereby suggesting the potential application of these organic materials in X-ray sensor development.

  • The landmark-based morphometric and meristic analysis of the kelp grouper (Epinephelus bruneus), red spotted grouper (E. akaara) and seven-banded grouper (E. septemfasciatus) were performed to compare the differentiation of overall body shape and structure. The measurements of the morphometric dimensions were observed in 25 parts (truss dimension: 16 parts; head part dimension: 9 parts) of 38 morphometric dimensions and also meristic differences observed in 3 parts (dorsal fin, anal fin and caudal fin) of 6 meristic counts (P < 0.05). Observed morphometric characteristics primarily involved in truss and head part dimension, kelp grouper have larger values in caudal part of truss dimension, kelp grouper, red spotted grouper and seven-banded grouper have similar values in pectoral part of truss dimension, in addition to, results of head part dimension showed that red spotted grouper have smaller values in overall dimensions (P < 0.05). As meristic characteristics, kelp grouper have more number of anal fin rays than other fish, red spotted grouper have more number of dorsal soft rays than other fish, and seven spotted grouper have more number of anal soft rays, and caudal fin rays than other fish (P < 0.05). Photographed under the x-ray, kelp grouper have the most curved vertebral column and largest swim bladder than other fishes (P < 0.05). Our results of this study confirmed that 3 subfamily fishes adequately can distinguish with external body shape, and we hope that the results of our study could be used to identify in Serranidae family as taxonomical parameters.

  • X-ray system which is usefully used in diagnosis of the patient, being bombed of radioactivity is a big weak point when irradiates a X-ray to the human body so that ICRP restricted the radiation exposure tolerance of the human body. In order to reduce being bombed, the many research and development is now advanced. A lots of diagnostic X-ray machines have currently used due to the increase of occurrence efficiency of X-ray and precisely the output control by using the inverter which is a high speed switching semiconductors. For getting the confidence of the X-ray machine, the same radiation occurrence, same evaluation, and same irradiation condition are necessary when evaluates X-ray irradiation. It is the most important part for the accuracy of the test result and the patient safety. This research has produced the high voltage occurrence system of full-wave rectification method by using the LC resonance inverter, and evaluated the irradiation reproducibility in order to use it in diagnosis of the patient.
