The usability of the Internet including WWW (World Wide Web) is dramatically growing in current business environment. These allow decision makers to enhance the productivity of decision making by referring valuable information in the remote sites, This paper presents the possibilities how WWW can be applied to build distributed and collaborative DSS, especially model management subsystem. A framework of Internet-based DSS is delineated, and then an idea of representing and managing models in the Internet-based DSS is suggested.

This study is aiming for make people understanding the importance of animation as a compulsory subject in designing World Wide Web. Specifically analyses of the basic theories and concepts of animation are given in the study to help web designer can get advantages from them. Few examples of some common factors which is being shared by both traditional animations and animations in web design. Highlighted issue in this study, however, is that we do not have many web sites organised by one who has proper animation training. This is underlined as a reason of imperfect web design we are able to see recently. As a proposal of solution, you'll see the training methods of animation, to have well planned web designs.

According as Internet based EC(Electronic Commerce) has been activated, More requirements for exchanging digital documents are being proposed in B2B(Business to Business) and B2G(Business to Government) environments. However, the documents can not be processed automatically, because the structures of documents in each site(companies, central/local governments) do not match. Therefore, W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) has proposed XML(eXtensible Markup Language) DTD(Document Type Declaration) technology to support structuring documents. The XML DTD technology can support interoperability between EC sites. And, XML DTD based documents can be processed automatically in every sites. They will improve efficiency of services in B2B and B2G environments. In this paper, we propose interoperable DTD architecture and IDEP(Interoperable DTD Exchange Protocol) protocol which supports searching DTDs and exchanging DTDs. This technology can popularize DTDs and digital documents.

Being recently increased interests of our healthcare, a host of symptoms-diagnostic sites has been introduced on the World Wide Web. But conventional healthcare sites provide users with only a very restricted functions. In this paper, we propose the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) as a flexible symptoms-diagnostic tool that enables learning effects of ANNs (not expert's knowledge) to be incorporated into the diagnostic process. We develop a novel algorithm for predicting patient\`s disease that satisfy user (or expert)-specified symptoms on WWW. Our algorithm provides two important benefits : 1) enables users (patients) to be taken early diagnostic, and 2) enables experts to perform confidently diagnostic by referencing the predicted diseases-list with its respective possibility.

Nowadays, there is a huge need of an extensive study to understand features and behavior modes of consumers who have an indefinite potential of purchase and to make EC a bullish market, Recently, the flow construct has been proposed as important for understanding consumer behavior on the cyber space. The purpose of this study is threefold. To investigate (1) the effect of the flow experience when navigating Internet shopping-mall sites and Internet on purchase intention and relational factors of this (2) the difference in the flow experiences between during the time of navigating Internet and during the time of navigating Internet shopping-mall sites. (3) the difference in purchase intention and relational factors of this between an experiential flow and a purposeful flow. The results show that (1) increase of the purchase intention on EC (or relational factors of this) in proportion to the degree of cognition of users' flow experience (2) By the separate motive of searching Internet shopping-mall sites, the flow experiences during the time of navigating Internet lead to different results (3) Although the difference in the purchase intention on EC between subjects is nonsignificant, it suggests that we need to focus on the fact that the correlation between the purchase intention on EC and the purposeful flow experience on Internet shopping-mall sites is greater than any other correlation. In the end of this study, The theoretical and practical implications of the study, limitations of the study, and future research implications are discussed.

As Internet and World Wide Web become more popular in our society, the interests in effective application to the field of rural development and agricultural extension service are increasing. The potential in Web-based agricultural extension service is expressed in many areas, such as agriculture information, Web-based training and education, and virtual rural community for rural development and agricultural extension service. The research on the Web and its related issues has been conducted in many ways, but the interests in the competencies and skills of staff who are in charge of Web developing and managing have not been exposed yet. The purpose of this study was to investigate the important competencies and skills for Web developing and managing for enhancing the effectiveness of rural development and agricultural extension service. Twelve extension service staff and on staff in the extension service support center were interviewed. The results of study showed that there were eight essential competencies; competencies to understand rural community and agricultural extension service, to understand the farmers as Web users, to design and develop effective Web sites, to understand the nature of hypertext, to utilize instruction theories, to absorb new technology, to manage projects, and to utilize external sources. The results of study also showed that there was lack of support systems for Web development and information. Overall, the findings of this study suggest that establishing long-term education and training system for technology, electronic performance support systems, and cooperation with universities and colleges for technology are of particular importance for promoting Web-based extension services.

As the Internet sites and users have rapidly been increased, the development for search engines has also been accelerated to satisfy users' expectations. As the result, not only the action of collecting documents through many search engines gave hosts workload, but also regular updating all the information is needed since information is newly added. With the circumstances, the necessity of the technology to collect massive information in hosts has been increased for the speed which is a basic requisite of search systems, and for more accurate collection of documents. Also, the role of search engines grows bigger for Internet users' various demands and flexible process through World Wide Web. In this paper, we design and implement a robot agent and a remote control system which doesn't give an excessive workload on a target server and makes the collection of documents done in a short period by considering an average workload rate on the target server and the rate of the workload that a robot experience in collection time, after we compare and analyze the existing Robot Agent Systems and supplement their weak points.

In the past, strong social bands, which had spontaneous communities, existed in Korean traditional society. However, while it's developing through industrialization; monolithic apartment houses were introduced which causes less interaction between neighbors. With the growing attention to the higher living quality, various schemes to revitalize the community spirits have been groped, including to improve in hardhearted neighborhood relationships and to cope with the dreariness in the city. With the development of the internet and the spread of 'digital home', the communities in cyber space have been especially revitalized since the information-oriented society. In a move to strengthen the communities in apartment complexes, this study tries to find the revitalization scheme for virtual communities in apartment complexes by analyzing the contents of its web sites and understanding the world of virtual community. These are compared and analyzed. The related virtual communities ("cafe" or "blogs") are also analyzed. The results are as follows. 1) There are some differences among the contents provided by apartment virtual community developing companies, still, it could be categorized into four types; "apartment complex introduction and management information" "community revitalization" "living guide" "individual services" 2) The contents provided by self-organized communities of residents neither require additional charge nor special membership for information while the formation is not systematized. 3) In the comparison of apartment virtual community developing companies with residents self-organized communities, "apartment complex introduction and management information" on freeboard, notice, request and Q&A, and "community revitalization" on communication board are both provided throughout the web sites. 4) The contents provided by apartment virtual community developing companies makes the information available in a wide range with managers, on the other hand, self-organized communities emphasize on showing attachment and concern of residents and requiring communications between neighborhoods.

With the advent of computers and network, the Internet(World Wide Web) is becoming more prevalent than ever before. The ICT and the policy of the development of information technology are also applied to the elementary school environment. In the elementary school field, we can easily find that children have different web-site preferences based on gender. There is a lot of research about adult gender issues for the purpose of customer analysis to increase business profits. However, there is little research about the gender factor in web-based instruction or educational web sites. Elementary school children are beginning to experience the Internet. In this study, we consider the analysis of the use and perception of the Internet based on gender differences, and discuss concrete guidelines in regards to elementary school pupil and therefore create Web Based Instruction or Educational Web Contents.
