본 논문은 기존의 트로피컬 하우스의 정의와 다르게 접근한다. 일렉트로닉 음악 장르인 딥 하우스, 칠 아웃, 댄스 홀로부터 파생되었다는 것이 기존의 정의이다. 이와 달리 본 연구에서는 트로피컬 하우스가 일렉트로닉 음악뿐만 아니라 다른 예술 양식의 요소를 포함하고 있음을 이야기한다. 바로 아일랜드의 전통 음악인 켈틱 음악의 요소들이다. 어떤 이유에서 트로피컬 하우스 장르와 켈틱 음악 장르의 융합이 용이했는지에 관하여 설명한다. 그리고 트로피컬 하우스가 켈틱 음악의 요소를 가지고 있다는 것을 8곡의 파퓰러 음악을 통하여 분석한다. 트로피컬 하우스의 선율, 화성, 리듬, 보컬 창법, 악기, 곡의 구조가 켈틱 음악의 요소와 교집합이 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 본 논문의 요지는 켈틱 음악의 요소가 트로피컬 하우스라는 장르에서 발견되었음을 주장하는 것이다. 더불어 창작자들은 세계 전통음악을 비롯한 다양한 음악들에 관심을 갖을 필요가 있다. 독창적인 음악을 만들기 위해 오늘날의 음악과 다양한 장르의 음악을 어떻게 접목시킬 수 있을지에 대해 고민해볼 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

전 세계가 글로벌화됨에 따라 사람들의 학문과 문화예술의 모습은 서로에게 영향을 주고 있다. 다원화된 예술의 형식은 전통문화의 순수성과 정통성의 틀을 깨트렸다. 그러나 이러한 현상 속에서도 자국 전통문화를 보존하고 계승하는 것은 문화예술의 발전에 간과해서는 안 되는 과제가 되었다. 탄둔은 중국 현대 음악의 대표적 인물로서 중국 음악 발전에 중요한 시사점을 주었으며, 과감하고 자유로운 창작 이념과 작품의 개성, 그리고 중국 전통음악을 현대 작품에 녹여내 국제적으로 주목받고 있는 현존하는 인물이다. 또한 전통과 현대, 동양과 서양의 경계선을 무너트리고 다원적 문화를 하나로 융합시켰다는 평가를 받고 있다. 본 연구는 탄둔의 작품을 통해 중국 문화의 계승 방법을 모색하고 중국 음악의 미래 발전의 방법을 모색하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 탄둔 작품의 분석을 통해 오개닉 음악, 불교문화, 무속 신앙, 그리고 민요와 희극 네 가지 전통적 음악 요소를 살펴볼 것이다. 본 연구는 작곡가 탄둔이 중국 전통문화를 현대 작품에서 어떻게 완벽하게 융합시켰는지를 연구하였고, 또한 세계적으로 다원화된 오늘날 자국 문화의 현대성과 공존하기 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to find out why Whitney Houston gave healing to people around the world based on Shin Jae-hyo's gwangdaeron (clown theory). In Korean music, gwangdae (廣大, the title of clown) is a nickname dedicated to outstanding artists. Not only is it a clown that cannot be a person, but it does not give a clown a nickname for doing art activities. This is why Shin Jae-hyo, a pansori (Pansori epic chant) theorist and critic in the late 19th century of the Joseon Dynasty, presented the virtues of outstanding artists. There are four outstanding clown conditions claimed by Shin Jae-hyo: appearance (人物), words (辭說), perfect vocal music (得音) and wonderful movements (neoreumsae). These conditions show how difficult it is to be a gwangdae (a prominent artist), or an accomplished artist. We think Whitney Houston is a famous singer who fits these conditions. In her heyday, she was optimized for Shin Jae-hyo's clown theory, while her post-2007 moves are regrettable. However, it is clear that he is a singer who fits well with the title of America's greatest clown. In conclusion, I felt that the best emotion through music was the best healing, and that the best singer was becoming the best healer.

본 논문은 Csound 프로그래밍 언어에 대한 발전된 학술 연구 혹은 독창적인 학술 아이디어를 탐구하기에 앞서, 현재 한국에서는 학술적 연구나 소개가 전혀 이루어지지 않은 Csound 음악 프로그래밍 언어를 누구도 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 체계화된 이론을 정립하고 보급하기 위해 제안한 것이다. Csound는 세계적인 컴퓨터 음악음향 제작 프로그래밍 언어이며, 세계적으로 유명한 사운드 디자이너들이 이용하는 전문적인 텍스트 기반 소프트웨어 신디사이저로, 1985년 M.I.T. Media Lab의 Barry Vercoe에 의해 개발되었다. 본 본문은 서양 전통음악의 역사적인 관점에서 음악과 자연의 소리 혹은 특정 매체로부터 발생되는 소리와의 결합시기를 전자음악과 음악음향 제작의 출발점으로 제시하였다. 그리고 기초적인 Csound의 작동원리를 서술하고. 이를 기초로 Csound를 이용한 음악 프로그래밍의 적용예를 제시하였으며, 결론에서는 본 논문의 연구 목표와 앞으로의 연구 과제를 서술하였다.

Music is a means of emotional expression and self-expression. In addition, it allows to interact with others and communicate with the world. Music may be considered as inaccessible for people with hearing impairment, who are sometimes discriminated from the music community. We explore trends in various technologies and research that enable everyone to access and enjoy music through experiences that leverage new and innovative technological approaches and bridge the gap between people with and without hearing impairment. Various aspects of haptic systems are being studied, but most of them are performance-oriented and focus only on technical functions. As research matures, more detailed and new studies that converge with various senses are being attempted. These studies will likely evolve into influential research areas that can positively affect the lives of people in terms of accessibility and inclusion by providing detailed functions and stimuli to specific users, including those with hearing impairment.

The purpose of this study is to find a solution to disputes in the process of producing digital music sources. At present, the center of the world music market including the domestic market has been completely transformed from the tangible musical record market to the intangible sound source market. Due to these environmental changes, the music production process becomes industrialized and specialized, causing conflicts of interest among the individuals in the process. First of all, this study examined changes in the music market which is the background of the dispute, identified the problems of the process and suggested solutions while summarizing the meaning and role of each process of producing a sound source that may arise during the sound production process. This study covers plagiarism between producers, copyright infringement of the creator against assistant creator caused by the industrialization and division of the production environment, issues related to the rights of sound engineers whose role and importance become bigger as acoustic technology develops and music genres become more diverse, and vertical hierarchy due to the formation of oligopoly by several distributors with huge capital. As a result of the study, it was concluded that Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) system is suitable for solving these problems. Specific methods of using ADR include activation of the dispute settlement system of the Korea Copyright Commission, active use of the arbitration clause specified in the standard contract, and recalculation of labor costs and earnings from copyright through mutual negotiations. This paper can be differentiated from previous studies in that it studied overall problems that might arise in the process of digital music source production and suggested ADR utilization as the solution.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo는 남아프리카공화국의 전통적인 줄루 아카펠라와 미국흑인음악의 영향을 받은 남성그룹이다. 미국의 주빌리 합창단이 1870년대에 남아프리카공화국에 와서 공연을 하면서 남아프리카공화국의 음악에 영향을 미쳤다. 토착적인 줄루족의 아카펠라와 미국의 주빌리 음악 스타일이 만나 탄생한 음악이 Ladysmith Black Mambazo의 음악이라고 할 수 있다. 이들은 Paul Simon의 앨범 『Graceland』에 참여하게 되면서 전세계적으로 유명해진다. 앨범은 수백만 장의 판매고를 올리게 되고 그래미 어워즈에서 수상을 하게 되었다. 그 후로도 자신들만의 앨범을 발매하여 그래미어워즈에서 총 5회의 수상을 하게 되고, 15회 노미네이트 되었다. 그들은 음악적 유산보존을 철학으로 삼아 줄루족의 음악을 계승·발전시켰다. 같은 비서구권 국가로서 법고창신의 정신을 돌아보고 우리나라의 뮤지션들에게 좋은 영향력이 되길 바라며 Ladysmith Black Mambazo의 'Black Is Beautiful'과 'Homeless'의 음악 분석을 통하여 이들의 음악이 서양의 음악에서 받아들인 점과 자신들만의 전통음악에서 계승해나가고 있는 점들을 알아보았다.

In order to have better understanding of the concept and meaning of soundscape, it is very important to consider entirely the objectives, activities, historical development processes and accomplishments of world soundscape project leading by R. Murray Schafer. Therefore, the ultimate purpose of this study is to inquire into the concrete development processes and practical activities of the soundscape in order to correspond to Schafer's conception of a tuning of the world. The establishment of WSP is based on noise pollution, listening attitudes and noisy music. Schafer formulated 5 types of item as a target, and wrote down concrete activities to achieve the goals. Especially, he devised the conceptual, educational, political and social strategies as the practical strategies of WSP. It is obtained various products by the activities of WSP from the planning starting year in 1969 to the stagnation period in 1979. That is, there are the social survey on noise-vancouver 1969, the book of noise, Okeanos, a study of community noise by-laws in canada 1972, the music of the environment, the vancouver soundscape, european sound diary, five village soundscapes, handbook for acoustic ecology and so on. The research activities of WSP arouse inspiration in many people interested in sound. Specially, it is emphasized the importance of increasing for their social roles in order to more actively improve and create the quality of sound environment. Also, it shows us the directions on how to lead our furture sound.

이 논문은 최근 디지털 음원 분야에서 주목할 만한 성장을 이루고 있는 러시아 음악시장의 현재적 상황과 그 배경에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 현재 세계 10위권의 시장 규모를 가진 러시아 음악 산업은, 스트리밍 접속을 통한 디지털 음원 시장을 중심으로 빠르게 성장하는 세계 음악 산업의 최근 흐름을 따르고 있다. 러시아의 음악 산업에서 디지털 음원의 성장 배경으로는 다운로드 및 스트리밍 음원 서비스 증가, 인터넷 발전으로 인하여 모바일을 이용한 디지털 음원 접속 회수의 증가, 정부의 저작권법 개정 등이 주요 원인으로 거론된다. 특히 스트리밍 음원 매출은 2020년에 디지털 음원 전체 매출의 85%이상 점유율을 예상할 만큼 폭발적인 성장이 기대된다. 스마트폰의 보급, 이로 인한 러시아 국민들의 라이프 스타일 변화, 즉 별도의 오디오 기기나 디지털 플레이어가 없어도 누구나 쉽게 디지털 음원에 접근하고 음악을 들을 수 있는 '연결/접속'의 편리함과 4차 산업혁명의 '빅데이터' 해석을 통한 음원소비자의 성향 분석 등이 이러한 변화를 전위에서 이끌고 있다. 또한 러시아 정부의 '저작권법' 개정과 더불어 불법 복제 음원물의 유통 근절에 대한 강력한 정책이 효과를 발휘하고 있다는 것도 디지털 음원의 가파른 상승을 이끄는 중요한 요소로 꼽힌다. 음악은 문화적 자산 가운데 가장 중요한 요소이면서, 디지털 경제의 전반적인 성장을 견인하는 효자 콘텐츠이다. 현재 러시아 음악 산업은 과거와 비교했을 때 안정적으로 지속 가능한 성장을 도모할 수 있는 환경이 구축되고 있으며, 여기에 다음과 같은 다섯 가지 개선안(저작권 보호에 대한 러시아인들의 의식 강화, 디지털 음원 산업에 빅데이터 활용, 디지털 음원 유통자들의 독과점 개선, 적정한 음원 수익 분배율 제시, 러시아 음악 산업에 대한 투자 활성화)이 효과적이고 생산적으로 잘 작동되면 세계 음악시장에서 러시아의 역할과 입지가 확장될 가능성은 매우 크다. 이럴 경우 러시아 음악 산업은 디지털 음원 시대에 단순히 적응하는 단계를 지나 4차 산업혁명의 수혜업종인 '스트리밍'에 접속하여 음악을 소비하는 패턴이 시장의 중심이 되는 세계 음악 산업을 선도적으로 이끌어 갈 것이다.

이 연구의 목적은, 한국 전통 음악의 어법을 활용하여 영화 음악을 발전시키기 위함이다. 2019년 현재 한국 영화 음악은 대부분 서양 악기 기반으로 만들어진다. 전통 음악이 쓰이는 빈도수를 확인해 보면, 서양 악기 기반의 음악보다 철저히 적음을 알 수 있으며, 1980년대 이전까지 한국 영화에서 다양하게 쓰이던 전통 악기와 전통 음악조차, 이제는 사극에서 내재적 음악으로 사용되는 데에 그치고 있는 것이 현실이다. 그리하여 전통 음악은 대중적으로 다가가기에 어렵다고 보는 관점이 많아지고 있으며, 많은 창작 음악 중에서도 영화 음악에는 거의 등장하지 않는다. 더 나아가 전통 악기의 음색을 사용하여 서양 악기를 흉내 내는 경우는 많은 반면, 전통 선법이나 장단, 시김새 등 전통 어법을 양악기로 연주하는 경우는 극히 드물다. 이는 필히 영화 음악을 작곡하는 음악가들의 전통 음악 어법이나 선법에 대한 제대로 된 이해가 부족함이 있을 것이며, 요즘의 음악 흐름에 전통 음악이 없기에 굳이 시도하지 않는 것이라고 생각된다. 하지만'전통'은, 그 나라의 역사와 문화, 생활, 성격 등을 모두 아우르며 그 민족을 나타내는 고유하고 특수한 것이다. 현재 디즈니사 영화나 할리우드 영화 등 세계적으로 유명한 영화를 살펴보면, 각 나라의 민속 음악을 활용하여 다양한 색채를 나타내는 월드 뮤직 형식이 많이 등장함을 알 수 있다. 이는 민속적인 색깔을 드러냄으로써 그 나라의 문화를 알리는 데 크게 일조한다. 하지만 한국의 색깔을 드러내는 영화나 음악은 찾아볼 수 없음이 현실이다. 이에 필자는 전통을 지켜내고자 하는 한국인으로서, 그리고 음악가로서 영화 음악에서 전통 어법을 사용한 음악이 필요하다는 것을 제안하였다. 제안 근거로 세계적으로 나라의 문화를 알리는데 일조한 중국 음악계의 '뉴웨이브' 양식과, 전통 어법이 서양 악기 양식으로 융화된 '탄둔'의 '와호장룡' 영화 음악을 예로 살펴보고, 그 음악으로 인한 효과를 한국 전통 음악에 대입했을 때도 훌륭한 효과를 나타낼 수 있을 것임을 증명하였다. 그를 통하여 영화 음악 작곡가들이 전통 음악을 더 잘 이해하고 하나의 음악을 만들어 내었을 때, 한국인만이 할 수 있는 가치 있는 음악이 완성되어 한국을 넘어 세계로 뻗어져 나갈 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 4차 산업혁명을 살아가고 있는 현재 그리고 미래에 우리의 목소리를 더 낼 수 있을 것이라고 기대한다.
