Accompanying the rapid advance of nanotechnology, various nano-particles have shown promise as strong antimicrobial agents against a broad spectrum of microorganisms. These nanoparticles also have potential applications in medical devices, water treatments systems, environmental sensors and so on. However, with increasing concerns about the impact of engineered nanoparticles, many researchers are recently reporting the cytotoxicity of nanoparticles. In this review paper, we summarized the antimicrobial activities and mechanisms of various kinds of engineered nanoparticles to imprale understanding about these characteristics of nanoparticles.

As movies and dramas which show traditional clothes and fusion clothes are getting popular these days, lot of people are paying attention to these dress and ornaments. And as for the domestic collections which seem to reflect this trend, various fusion style clothes are getting widely adopted by people. Therefore, this study analyzed and considered the clothes designs when the country started to open itself to other countries, by selecting a movie titled "YMCA baseball team", a movie to ascertain vigorous historical verification, and by conducting the prior study and using the DVD capture program. This study is meaningful in that based on the comparison study on the costumes, it clarifies the degree of costumes(clothes) acceptance at the point of nation's opening to other countries, which is the source of fusion style, and further shed light on the role that the movie costumes will play. From this study, we can get the following conclusions. First, through the theoretical background it can be known that when the country opened itself to outside world the dress and ornaments of the time was adopted in a top-down way, namely, first adopted by the royal family and the upper class, which could have easy access to the western civilization and institutions, and then the low class later. Second, in the movie titled 'YMCA baseball team' the costumes were designed through the strict and thorough historic verification, and it can be confirmed that various dress and ornaments adopted at the time of nation's opening to the outside world centered around the clothes design for new women. Third, 'YMCA baseball team is evaluated as a movie that reproduces that time well and as a media that provides an effective clue to the dress and ornaments adopted by the public when the country opened itself to the outside world.

Recently, the concern for environmental issue has been rising in the world such as global warming and breaking of ozone barrier by exhausting carbon dioxide(CO2) and Freon. In this situation, Photovoltaic(PV) and hydrogen energy system for utilizing clean and renewable energy was highlighted to contribute very much against the global warming prevention. Until now, authors have studied EMTDC model Development of Solar-powered Hydrogen production system and manufactured the 600W class actual PV-SPE system. Which was established in 2004 to produce highly pure hydrogen energized by PV power generation system. Sooner, authors will establish 100kW class PV-SPE system. Economically, this system produce large amount of hydrogen. In this paper, all data of 100kW class PV-SPE system will be simulated by using PSCAD/EMTDC.

In the response to the demand for electrical energy, much effort was given to develop and commercialize high temperature superconducting (HTS) power equipment has been made around the world. Especially, a HTS transformer is one of the most promising devices. Recently, Korea Polytechnic University and Gyeongsang National University are developing a power distribution and transmission class HTS transformer that is one of the 21st century superconducting frontier projects in Korea. For the development of 154 kV class HTS transformer, the cryogenic insulation technology should be established. We have been analyzed insulation composition and investigated electrical characteristics such as the breakdown of $LN_2$, barrier, kapton films, and the surface flashover of FRP in $LN_2$. Furthermore, we are going to compare with measured each value and apply the value to the most suitable insulating design of the HTS transformer.

Recently, the government has provided support such as entering new markets, expanding sales channels, and supporting manpower, not just in the form of funding, to efficiently and effectively support limited national resources to improve corporate performance. In this study, we tried to find out the effect of government support for companies that have benefited from the Excellent Technology Research Center Project (ATC Project) and the World Class 300 project using propensity score matching. As a result of the analysis, the effect of government support for the ATC project became visible after the appointment period, while the effect of the World Class 300 project was insignificant. This means that when the size of the company is small, the effect of government support is more pronounced. This suggests that in order to maximize the effectiveness of government support, appropriate national policy interventions such as government innovation funding are needed when the size of the company is small. In this study, differences in the timing, performance indicators, and company size of policy support effects were found in the growth stage of a company from a mid- to long-term time series perspective, suggesting that support policies based on this need to be adjusted and redesigned.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to introduce the WFME Global Standards and Recognition process and to consider Improvement direction of Korean traditional medical curriculum. Methods: To Investigate the Standards and Recognition process of WFME and the traditional medical curriculum of each country(China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea). Results: The WFME Global Standards and Recognition process aims to train doctors who are educated and active in world standard medical Curriculum. The traditional medical colleges have not received recognition, but those colleges in Korea, China and Taiwan contain a lot of standards contents, and they need to be recognized if they belong to WDMS. Conclusions: Korea University of Oriental Medicine has a lot of subjects of WFME Standards and there is a medical education recognition association, which is advantageous for the standardization process of world medical education. Therefore, it is necessary to aim at world standard medicine while preserving the tradition of Oriental medicine, WFME Global Standards should be used to reorganize the curriculum and train a world-class medical professional.

There are many problems to be satisfied the various commercial demand in the present VRML node, and the VRML-based system by the contact with other technology is burdened with the direct participation of developer related with it. In this study, remote control and monitoring system using EAI(External Authoring Interface) is reposed to overcome the limit of VRML. In other words, This study is about mechanism of interaction between control and monitoring subject in real world and object in virtual world mapped with it. Object oriented method by one to one mapping of the Java class which have VRML virtual world and the object control is proposed. Introduction method of video monitoring through method of image synthesis and the integrated development environment is described. Finally automobile-gate control system based on the development method of Internet virtual reality-based system which is proposed in this study is described.

Southeast Asian studies in Singapore has had a problem with locating local scholarship from the outset. The initiation of English-track scholarship was done by British scholars while Chinese scholars in the beginning were not considered as local people but as sojourners who identified China as their fatherland. If the latter had successfully located their scholarship in the post-colonial environment of Singapore, the job of identifying local scholarship would have been much easier. Indeed, for some time in the 1960s-70s, there existed a relatively strong local scholarship that was based mainly at Nanyang University. However, they became marginalized as English became dominant not just in education but also in Singapore society. Unlike the Chinese-track scholarship, the English-track scholarship in Singapore has developed greatly over the years. The establishment of ISEAS was the crystallized form of Singapore's endeavors to develop a Singapore brand of Southeast Asian studies to the world. Alongside ISEAS, NUS has carried on the English-track Southeast Asian studies and become a world-class university in this academic field. The formation of the Southeast Asian Programme and ARI marked a cornerstone for NUS in advancing Southeast Asian studies. However, Singaporean scholarship continues to be weak in comparison to foreign scholarship. In the absence of strong local scholarship, the typical way in which Singapore has chosen to develop Southeast Asian studies has been to establish world-class institutes and to bring in foreign talents. This strategy has perhaps paid off since it has situated Singapore as the prime place where scholars gather, information goes around and quality research outcomes are published. However, whether or not it has strengthened local scholarship remains a controversial issue. The dominant contribution of foreign scholars continues to pose the problem of whether the ownership of Southeast Asian studies in Singapore belongs to Singapore itself. The identification of scholarship in Singapore is an unsettled matter.

The purpose of this study is to introduce policy and theoretical implications by analyzing affecting factors for the elder's happiness. For this study, we analyzed data using HLM. Data include a world value survey(hereafter, WVS) as personal level analysis data and also OECD's Social Expenditure Database(hereafter, SOCX) and database from the World Bank as national level analysis data. The subjects of personal level analysis were the elder who are over 65-years od age, and they were total 3,297 people, and while the subjects of national level analysis were total 9 OECD countries. For the data analysis, hierarchial linear model(HLM) analysis was done by using HML 7.0 program. As a result of analysis, First, for the elderly's happiness, they should improve self-disposition, members of social groups, and social class. Second, the old-age pension and the survivor's pension had no meaningful effect on the happiness. but it was found that self - disposition, social class, gender, and health status showed meaningful interaction effect according to old - age pension, survivor pension, per capita GDP, income inequality. This suggests that efforts to improve the happiness of the elderly should be made at the individual level and the national level at the same time.
