In this study, a survey was conducted and analyzed to provide basic data on hospital infection control measures and education by identifying awareness and practice of hospital infection control among workers at general hospitals in Busan. As a result of conducting a t-test and one-way ANOVA to see the difference in general variables, the awareness and practice of personal hygiene management were generally low, and the awareness and practice of equipment hygiene management were high. In all areas except for men's personal hygiene management, the level of awareness was higher than the level of practice, confirming that the level of practice was insufficient compared to the level of awareness of infection control. As a result of Pearson's correlation analysis, people with high awareness of infection control showed a high level of practice, so it was thought that raising the awareness of infection control among hospital workers would be effective in preventing hospital infection. Therefore, it is considered that it is necessary to raise the awareness of infection control among workers through continuous education on hospital infection control, and to make efforts of hospital workers to practice it.
The purpose of this study is to explore how the organizational structure of hospitals affects the pattern of conflicts between human resources at hospitals and then to present basic data necessary for conflict resolution. Research data were collected from the personnel of 14 hospitals in P city in Korea. The findings of the study are summed up as follows. First, administrative workers and with fewer years of service thought of the organizational structure as organic. Second, organizational conflict was found to be higher in those at older ages, with more years of service and in middle management positions. Next, as for conflict patterns between occupation types, nurses showed more conflicts with doctors and administrative workers, while administrative workers and public health personnel had more conflicts with nurses. Last, of the organizational structure factors, 'Subdivision of work,' 'Decision making method,' 'Opinion collection process,' 'Codification of responsibilities and rights' and 'Documentation of duties' were found to have negative effects on conflict patterns. Therefore, the findings imply that for decrease in organizational conflicts, hospitals need to be reorganized to have a more organic structure and take such differentiated measures for conflict resolution that consider characteristics of human resources, such as one's age, years of service and position.
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate which physical and psychosocial work demands were associated with excellent work ability in individuals with neck pain, and to investigate age and sex differences in these associations. Methods: The study sample was obtained from the Statistics Sweden cross-sectional Work Environment survey and consisted of workers who reported neck pain after work (N = 3,212). Results: The findings showed an association between excellent work ability and self-reported low exposure to lifting, twisted work posture, working with hands in shoulder level or higher, and leaning forward without support and combination of exposures containing these work demands. Low exposure to seated work and high demands showed a reversed association. The associations were present mainly among older workers and were generally stronger for men than for women. Conclusion: This study indicates that a lower level of physically demanding work is an important element to maintain excellent work ability, especially for the older worker with neck pain.
Objectives : This study investigated the relationship between drinking, smoking and stress of workers by analyzing heart rate variability. The subjects were workers in the automobile manufacturing industry. Methods : The subjects consisted of 21,239 and 19,999 industrial workers who had received health examination by Korean oriental medicine and submitted questionnaires about drinking history and smoking history, during 8 months from April to November. The subjects were categorized into drinking history and smoking history. The heart rate variability was measured for five minute at rest using SA-3000P (Medicore) and reported stress severity as stress index, stress resistance and fatigue. We analyzed the relationship between drinking, smoking and stress into frequencies, $x^2$-test using the SPSS Ver. 12.0. Results : Regarding the relationship between drinking and stress index orstress resistance, there was no statistically significant difference, but regarding the relationship between drinking and fatigue, the drinker group had a significantly higher level of fatigue than the non-drinker group. There was a statistically significant difference in stress index, stress resistance and fatigue between the current-smoker group and others. Stress resistance of the current-smoker group had lower levels than the non-smoker group or ex-smokers. On the other hand, stress index and fatigue of the current-smoker group had higher levels than the non-smoker group or ex-smokers. Conclusions : The above results revealed that drinking and smoking could put workers under a lot of stress. Smoking workers were especially apt to be under stress and had difficulty in alleviating stress.

This study is evaluation of shift-workers' sleep and social life related to hospital workers' performance and health. We researched shiftworkers' sleep, sleeping quality and social relations using a questionnaire method to shiftworkplace scattered Daejeon and Chungnam province. The results of shiftworkers' sleep are differ from habitual sleep. Social participations of shiftworkerse are interfered partially because of shiftwork. In preference, shiftworker preferred health to others because of physical load of shiftworks. Through result of this study about sleep and social life style, we hope to derive reduction methods of shift work fatigue and education for improvement of employers, for example an physiological and psychological accordance method, an health problem solving method and an social accordance method, etc.

Objectives : To investigate the related factors on musculoskeletal symptoms among Korean female workers. Methods : A total of 1,875 female workers (1,002 office workers and 873 blue-collar workers) was analyzed. They were randomly selected among female workers by cluster sampling and interviewed by well trained interviewer, who filled out a structured questionnaire on the musculoskeletal symptoms. Other factors such as general and occupational characteristics including workplace location, employment condition, work duration, and working condition were also investigated. Results : Current smokers and drinkers were significantly more common in blue-collar workers than in office workers. Those working full time were significantly more common in blue-collar workers than in office workers. Those working over 8 hours per day were also popular in office workers than in blue-collar workers. Subjective musculoskeletal symptoms were significantly higher in the type of work including excessive repetitive work, work using awkward stretching hand upwards, work using repetitive wrist movements, static work using awkward hand posture, and heavy manual lifting and handling works. The mean score of the symptoms were significantly higher in blue-collar than in office workers. The significantly different working factors between two groups were work duration, employment condition and daily work hours. Conclusion : We suggest that the type of work including awkward and repetitive works as well as job type may be one of the most important factors related to musculoskeletal symptoms of female workers in the workplace. Preventive strategy will be needed to prevent the negative impact on health status of working women in the workplace.
The purpose of this study was to identify the of patient safety related to perception of Hospital environment, Organizational culture, Reporting system and Factors Influencing on Perception of Medical Errors Report Related to Patient Safety of Healthcare Workers in a General Hospital. Healthcare Workers in a General Hospital in B City who signed on the written consent participated in this study between February 12 and 28, 2017. A total of 244 copies were collected and were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. The result mean score perception of Hospital environment was 3.26(${\pm}0.31$)point on a scale of 0 to 5, and Organizational culture 3.74(${\pm}0.54$)point, Reporting system 3.64(${\pm}0.57$)point. Factors influencing on perception of medical errors report is sex(${\beta}=.137$, p=.023), Type of occupation(${\beta}=289$, p=.001), Department of Nursing(${\beta}=-.196$, p=.023), Hospital environment(${\beta}=.327$, p=<.001), Organizational culture(${\beta}=.288$, p=<.001). Therefore management and hospital management efforts should be made to establish a system that enables healthcare workers to report without fear of medical errors reporting, and appropriate staffing and open communication.

To evaluate the health risk of the workplace environment of a general hospital toward the hospital workers, a questionnaire survey on the perception of risk at the workplace environment and environmental measurements at 27 locations with 240 workers in the hospital were made from October 25th, 1993 to October 30th, 1994. The results were as follows ; 1. By the environmental measurements, 86 workers(36%) were found to be exposed to poor or harmful degree of general illumination, 193 workers(80%) were exposed to poor or harmful local illumination, 34 workers(14%) were exposed to poor or harmful degree of thermal condition and 180 workers(75%) were exposed to poor or harmful noise level, but nobody was exposed to poor or harmful dust and toluene concentration. Also nobody was exposed to poor or harmful level of radiation or anticancer/antibiotic agents. 2. The subjective perceptions on the environmental conditions felt by the workers were different from the objective findings by the environmental measurements. The workers underscored the poor illumination state and overscored the dust concentrations. Also workers oversensitized about the thermal condition, the noise level, the radiation level, the toluene concentration and anticancer/antibiotic agents 3. The sources of noise were the dialogue(179 workers) and the office instruments(131 workers). The sources of dust came from the clothes(108 workers) and the building materials(79 workers). 4. The questionnaire survey showed that the 28 workers were exposed to poor or harmful level of the antibiotics, 10 workers to alkali or acid and 6 workers to drug dust in the pharmacy but the above findings could not be proved by the environmental measurements.
The purpose of this study is to grasp the relationship between the amount of physical activities at work perceived by workers and their health promotion behaviors. To achieve such a purpose. this survey was conducted on 476 Workers who work for 3 food product work-sites located in Keong-in area by means of questionnaire from June 15 to July 14 . 1998. Collected data were statistically analyzed by SPSS/WlN. The significant results were obtained as follows. 1. The average scores of the amount of physical activities at work and health promotion behavior were 3.18 and 2.84 respectively; the former was slightly higher than moderate score 2.5 and the latter was almost the same as it. It can be interpreted that workers perceive their physical activities at work are heavier than their daily activities, which seems to make their health promotion behaviors still inactivated. 2. The amount of physical activities at work, it was were greater revealed that the more activities workers do after work. the more they walk and the more exercises they do. It implies that the voluntary practice of good health habit at leisure can be greatly contributed to the activation of more productive activity at work. 3. The amount of health promotion behaviors was larger as workers do more physical activities at work and have lower PIBW(Percent Ideal Body Weight). It means that the voluntary practice of good health habit is closely related to the degree of obesity and their positive attitude toward their work. Average PIBW was 106.71; most of the workers are distributed within the standard range in their weight. So we can presume that most of them are not seriously conscious of weight maintenance in their daily lives. Therefore it is desirable that health promotion program for workers should be developed toward connecting their physical activities at work with those in their daily lives much more. Authors studied the workers' knowledge about the health problems detected through the previous workers' periodic health examination, content of follow-up management ana actions taken for their health problem detected on previous health examination. From June to September 1992, workers' periodic health examination was peformed on workers employed in 10 companies located in 2 middle-sized Korean cities. A questionnaire survey was done far 150 workers who reported to have $D_2$ result of either hypertension or liver disorder at the previous workers' periodic health examination done in 1991. The results are as follows; 1. Of 160 workers who had $D_2$ result of either hypertension or liver disorder in previous examination one year before, only 85 workers(51.3%, 43 workers with hypertension, 38 workers with live disorder) responded that they have such disorders. The other 65 workers responded to questionnaire were all those with C results. Respondents' knowledge about their diagnoses was relatively precise (95.2% in hypertension group, 94.6% in liver disorder group) but knowledge about classification of diseases was poor. 2. The main efforts to solve the health problem nab self management (20 spells, 55.3%), visiting clinic or hospital(6 spells, 12.8%), use of herb medicine (2 spells, 4.3%) and use of drug store(2 spells, 4.3%) in hypertension group. In liver disorder group, 30 spells (71.4%) relied on self management,6 spells (14.3%) on hospital or clinic and 9 spells (21.4%) had no effort to improve the health problem. Content of self management was low salt diet, quit smoking, regular exercise and quit alcohol drinking in order. Avoidance of salt in diet was high in hypertension group and quitting alcohol drinking was high in liver disorder group. In those with self management, 80.7% of hypertension group and 83.3% of liver disorder group continued previous effort. Those, however, who utilized clinic or hospital, only 16.7% and 50.0% were still visiting hospital or clinic. 3. Fifty seven percent of hypertension group and 64.3% of liver disorder group was presently smoking,8.5% and 11.9% reduced smoking and 21.3% and 14.3% stopped smoking. Forty nine percent of hypertension group and 28.6% of liver disorder group was presently drinking. Reduced alcohol intake was reported in 29.8% and 40.5%, 12.8ole and 23.8% stopped alcohol drinking. Sixty six percent of hypertension group and 73.8% of liver disorder group did no regular exercise, but 12.8% and 11.9% of each group increased their physical exercise far last one year. Forty three percent of hypertension group and 38.l% of liver disorder group was overweight (defined by bodymass index greater or equal than 25). Reduced body Weight was reported in 17.2% and 16.7% of each group. Reduced dietary salt intake was high in hypertension group (51.5%). The study results suggest that follow-up management after workers' periodic health examination is not satisfactory. In order to improve this situation, adequate information on the result of the workers' periodic health examination should be distributed to each worker group with health education and counselling.
