Development of Optimal TACT Process for Eco-Friendly Demolition Works in Aged Housing Remodeling - Focus on Case Study - (친환경 리모델링 철거공사의 최적 TACT공정 개발 - 사례연구를 중심으로 -)

  • Technology based civilization has made a sustained advancement, resulting in economic growth and material prosperity. The outcome was the beginning of environmental destruction. Especially, in regard to construction, it has been recognized as a key culprit for pollution. As such, the construction industry has recently shown interest in the environment, as it has been applying environment friendly method of construction and reducing wastes. As the number of old common housing increases in our country, reconstruction and remodeling are implemented as a means of improvement. However, it can be said that remodeling is the inevitable option because of cost and environmental problems associated with reconstruction. As part of its feature, remodeling work is preceded by removal work. And, removal work inevitably creates construction wastes. Treatment of wastes that takes into consideration environmental aspects is important and for this, removal work that is based on environment friendly remodeling to ensure selective separation must be implemented. Yet, a removal work based on environment friendly remodeling has a lower level of output compared to existing methods. Because remodeling work by its nature has a post construction work which proceeds after it, securing work efficiency is important as the removal work is a critical path activity. Thus, the present study improves the work process of a removal work that is based on environment friendly remodeling so that it becomes a work process that includes work efficiency. For this, as a case study, old common housing has been selected, and a TACT process has been developed which is based on data acquired from environment friendly removal work. And, this study develops an optimal TACT process which is based on environment friendly remodeling by conducting a simulation for a 15 floor apartment.

The Determinants of Intent to Leave of Dental Hygienists at Dental Clinics (치과의원에 근무하는 치과위생사의 이직의도 결정요인)

  • This study purports to investigate the determinants of intent to leave of dental hygienists working at dental clinics. The sample used in this study consisted of 356 dental hygienists selected from nationwide Korea. The independent variables contain three groups of determinants: 6 structural variables, 2 psychological variables and one environmental variable. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment were included in the model as intervening variables. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis. The results of the path analysis indicate that the following variables have significant total effects on the intent to leave of dental hygienists: organizational commitment, supervisory support, job satisfaction, alternative job opportunity, positive affectivity, role conflict and job autonomy. The results imply that the administrators of dental clinics should make an effort to motivate dental hygienists by redesigning their work process, to provide them with more autonomy in doing their work, and to develop their job knowledge and skills through continuous training and education.

  • Recent advances in automation and robotic technologies in the manufacturing industry suggest that the greater level of automation may be extremely beneficial for the construction industry. However, only some of the high-technology advances may be applied to the construction industry due to the fast-changing construction environment in which work locations are constantly changing and material, equipment, and workers are always moving. The earthwork operation for site development is a good candidate for applying automation technology, because it is a very repetitive and tedious task and needs lots of construction equipment. This paper presents the model of a construction environment and a moving plan for an automated earthwork system, which can produce an effective moving path of an excavator platform with an Octree model. To generate the moving path, the know-how of skilled operators and construction managers is added in the proposed model.

Multiple Mediating Effects in the Path of WLB on Deviant Behavior (일-생활 균형과 일탈행동 경로에서 다중매개 효과)

  • The aim of the present study is to test multiple mediating effects of job-efficacy and resiliance in the links between work-life balance (WLB) and deviant behavior. The date applied in empirical analysis was collected from employees working at Jeju island and 400 sets of questionnaires were spread and among collected 355 sets, 298 sets were used. Hypotheses was examined with SPSS Macro statistical package. As expected, WLB was positively related to job-efficacy and resiliance respectively and negatively associated with deviant behaivor. Moreover, mediating effects of both variables was different, in detail, job-efficacy was fully mediated in that path but not significant in case of resiliance. Findings of this study was to expand the roles of WLB from productive behaviors to counter-productive behaviors and it enables to provide a few theoretical and empirical implications.

It reinforces the idea that even in the darkest moments, one can find the light of hope and resilience. Her story is a testament to the indomitable human will. Furthermore, Helen Keller's narrative often reminds us of the importance of gratitude for gifts and opportunities that are often taken for granted. Her longing for the simplest things, like sight, teaches us to cherish the abilities and privileges we currently possess. When facing contemporary challenges and uncertainties, her story conveys a profound message of unwavering hope and steadfast faith. Factors Affecting on Organizational Commitment of Military Hospital Nursing Officers (군병원 간호장교의 조직애착에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting on organizational commitment of military hospital nursing officers. For the purpose of this study, the self-administerd questionnaire survey was done with 440 military hospital nursing officers during february, 2001. The major results of the study were summarized as follows: By path analysis using LISREL 7.0, variables such as met expectations, work involvement, pay, work definiteness, positive affectivity, family support, peer support, promotion opportunity, expectations before entering a military hospital had significant positive effect on Job satisfaction in order of size, however, vertical conflict and horizontal conflict had significant negative effect in order of size. Variables such as job satisfaction, met expectations, promotion opportunity, positive affectivity, pay had significant positive direct effect on organizational commitment in order of size, however, job routinization, job opportunity had significant negative direct effect in order of size. It was found that the following variables, listed m order of size, had significant total effects on organizational commitment: job satisfaction, met expectations, positive affectivity, promotion opportunity, pay, vertical conflict, job routinization, family support, work involvement, work definiteness, job opportunity. In considering above findings, the program or plan for job satisfaction promotion, met expectations, fair promotion opportunity, adequate pay, work definiteness, solving conflict, positive affectivity promotion would be implemented to increase organizational commitment of military hospital nursing officers.

The Effects of Abusive Supervision on Turnover Intention: Dual Mediating Effects of Emotional Stress & Work Engagement (상사의 비인격적 감독이 이직의도에 미치는 영향: 정서적 스트레스와 직무열의의 이중매개효과)

  • This study was to verify the effect of the supervisor's abusive supervision on turnover intention and the mediating role of emotional stress and work engagement in the process. The online survey was conducted on 317 employees and the data were analyzed through SPSS Macro and bootstrapping. The results are as follows: the correlation between abusive supervision, emotional stress, work engagement and turnover intention was confirmed to be statistically significant, and dual mediating effect of emotional stress and work engagement was statistically significant. This study showed meaningful results on the path of the abusive supervision and turnover intention. Further studies with longitudinal method and in-depth studies on factors influencing pathways will be needed to verify substantially the dual mediating effect.

Factors influencing the organizational commitment and work performance of outsourced workers (아웃소싱 근로자의 조직몰입과 업무성과에 미치는 영향요인)

  • This study designed a research model to analyze the relationship between organizational commitment and work performance for outsourcing workers. The path relationship was analyzed using the PLS-SEM of the sample collected through the survey. As a result of the study, organizational support perception had a direct effect on the work performance of outsourcing workers, and the company commitment and customer company commitment had a mediating effect. In addition, it was confirmed that the workers showed dual commitment to the company and the customer company, and the organizational commitment to both companies was complementary. It was also suggested that the outsourcing company's organizational support activities are more important for improving the work performance of workers.

  • This study aimed to examine the influence of intergenerational contact on work meaning through knowledge sharing. Additionally, based on the socioemotional selectivity theory, this study investigated whether age moderates the mediating path. We collected data from 588 full-time employees in South Korea, and analyzed the data using the latent moderated structural equation method. The results showed that knowledge sharing fully mediated the relationship between intergenerational contact and work meaning. Furthermore, age was found to moderate the relationship between intergenerational contact and work meaning via knowledge sharing. Particularly, the mediation effect was strengthened as age increased. This study holds a significant theoretical value by shedding light on the specific mechanisms underlying knowledge sharing. Moreover, the results suggest the potential for enhancing the impact of coaching programs by tailoring them to individual characteristics.

Development of Metric-Based Two-Tier Work Force Strategy (성과극대화를 위한 기능인력의 육성 및 활용전략)

  • The construction industry has been experiencing a major challenge in its work force, 'the shortage of skilled craft workers.' This problem has been caused by several factors such as the poor image of the construction industry, lack of training and education, unclear career path, declining wages, and changing work force demographics. A 'step-change' approach called the 'Two-Tier Work Force Strategy' has been proposed by the Center for Construction Industry Studies (CCIS) to deal with the work force related issues in a radical way. It is composed of two separate strategies, Tier I and II. The Tier I strategy uses less skilled and task trained craft workers, and has a larger administrative site management team than the Tier II strategy. The Tier II strategy utilizes fewer, better-educated, and higher skilled workers who perform some lower-management functions in addition to craft functions. They are paid more, but produce more through higher skills, stay on the job longer through multi-skilling, and deliver improved project performance in safety, quality, schedule, and cost The Two-Tier Work Force Strategy has the potential to resolve the current work force problems and foster a better work force environment in the future.
