Objective: The aim of this study is to develop new K-OWAS on the basis of the anthropometry of Koreans considering works in shipbuilding and heavy industry for evaluation whole-body working postures. Background: Work Related Musculoskeletal Disorders(WMSDs) were a leading cause of sick leaves and injuries in the industries of our country. Especially, awkward working postures and handling of heavy weight are known as a main cause of WMSDs. OWAS, RULA and REBA are much used as the method for evaluating the awkward working postures. OWAS is the working postures evaluation method that can be used for the evaluation of whole-body working postures. OWAS was the method made based on the anthropometry of the foreigner, working postures and weight does not fit our work state. Method: This method was evaluated considering the anthropometry of the Koreans, working postures and weight in shipbuilding and heavy industry work state in Korea. Results: Correlation of action level of OWAS and subjective discomfort for each body parts were not statistically significant($p{\geq}0.1$). But correlation of action level of K-OWAS and subjective discomfort for torso and waist were statistically significant($p{\leq}0.1$). Conclusion: K-OWAS was suitable in the evaluation of upper body including torso and waist. Application: New method for whole-body working postures from this study prevent WMSDs and help improvement of working environment and design of working method.
We have never seen any method to cope basically with complicated situation and problems around medical reimbursement rates here in Korea since 1977 witnessed by the beginning of medical insurance. By the way researchers concerned are beginning to propose some kinds of innovative and detailed ideas to government these days. They are Diagnosis-related group(DRG) and Resource-based .elative value scale(RBRVS). In the light of this situation it is so encouraging that our government can come up with that and move. In case of RBRVS research we have already been reaching even to the level of reviewing and revising methodology for its further development after naive pilot study on internal medicine and general surgery last year. However there might be something different conditions between USA and Korea to apply the same Dr. Hsiao's method and it must be vital to check so called' total work approach' compared with 'intra-service work approach' before expanding to the whole medical fields. According to the' Intra-service approach', the physician's work is supposed to be divided into three sub-works by the name of intraservice work, pre, and post service work. These sub-works, again should be merged together to be the pre-postwork subset through some statistical methods of the estimation process applied by Dr. Hsiao's methodology in RBRVS development later on. But in this paper that estimation process was not taken because we could have real values for all of those surveyed items related to just one specialty, OB & GY. Instead, We used some statistical comparison procedures relevant to demographic characteristics, reliability & validity and correlation analysis with American RVU(Relative value unit) between the total work and merged total work from intraservice work approach. The unit of analysis was individual physicians of OB & GY and 300 physicians were selected for each approach through statistical sampling method based on national population of OB & GY physicians in Korea. And also with the thankful help of Advisory Committee under Korean Association of OB & GY, questionnaires were made and mailed to the subjects, two times. As a result there were not any statistically significant differences in demographic characteristics between the two approaches except for the variable 'Response time for the questionnaires', but in other sections of comparisons, response rate, representative values, reliability & validity test, correlation analysis with American RVU, all showed 'Total approach' was not only more rational and statistically meaningful than 'Intra-service approach' but also had considerable merits. But we are not absolutely sure about this paper's robustness. Because of some limitations, we'd rather like to suggest further researches should be followed. In that sense the first thing would be a research for the influence of doctor's characteristics, especially 'frequency' on the rating of work and the way to define total work more clearly.
Objective and Background: The objective of this study was to evaluate the association of individual characteristics, work-related factors, lifestyle factors, and health problems with work ability among aging workers in Korea. Method: In this cross-sectional survey, the study population consisted of 1,594 workers who had participated in a voluntary health promotion center and private workplace. Participants completed the work ability index. Results: The mean WAI score was 37.4, while the mean age of the sample was 43.25. In the age group over 50 showed 36.26. The majority of participants rated their work ability as 'good' to 'excellent', one-third moderate and about 7.5% poor. Work ability decreased significantly with age among the men. The younger group had higher scores on the work ability index than the age group over 50, except for mental resources. By work characteristics, work ability was analyzed to be the lowest in the case of work handling heavy stuff. Lastly, as a result of health factors analysis, the good management and retention of current health status can be the measure helpful to the improvement of work ability. Conclusion and Application: According to the results, it can be a basic principle to devise and enforce preventive measures on the factors for which improvement or action is possible, together with workplace-level systematic approach, in order to improve work ability. For such measures to be realized, it is necessary to check trends in change for several years.

In this study, I have researched into the causes of defects in apartment house, The results of this study are listed below. (1) Water leakages which result from land sinking and cracks, results of misuse of back filling method, are the main reason of defects in civil engineering work and architectural work. (2) Inexperience and unwillingness are the main reason of defects in plaster work. (3) In windows work and painting work, the main reasons are lacks of precision construction and efflorescence resulting from outdoor air, respectively. (4) Defects in waterproofing work and electric work result from fault construction by low unit Costs. (5) Equipment work requires uses of standardized construction materials and management, and landscape architecture work requires minimizing human mistakes, for instance, degin carelessness. For the reasons stated above, the causes of defects in apartment house are insufficient construction labors, inferior construction materials, urgent construction process time, and conscientiousless industrialists who only seek after a profit margin.
This study presented a new NOS model through the following suggestions to apply the construction work planing and management to NOS(Network Operating System). First, This study presented CIMS(construction information classification system) reflected the characteristics of facility classification - functional component classification - functional component classification - work classification - resource classification. Based on this system. this study presented how to establish PMMB(performance measurement management baseline) with proposed master target equation which analyzed the trend of performance measurement management baseline and proposed work target equation which analyzed the execution results. Finally, this study presented NOS model that can be applied to fixed price method and cost plus fee method through the theoretical verification of executive performance analysis method.

Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta as part of the Indonesian Republic Police (Polri) institution also experiences problems related to the performance of police members as well as the Polri institution in general. The problems which relate to the police performance are influenced by various factors such as low compensation and as a result low motivation in the work environment of Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta. Therefore, the objective of this study is to empirically test and prove the effect of the work environment and compensation on work motivation and police performance of Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This study used a survey method for collecting data. By using proportional stratified random sampling, 143 members of Directorate of Traffic of the Regional Police D.I. Yogyakarta were selected as the respondents. The results of this study indicate that work environment has a positive effect on work motivation, police performance as well as compensation on work motivation and police performance. In addition, work motivation has a positive effect on police performance. Thus, this study concludes that work motivation mediates the effect of work environment and compensation on police performance.

In this paper, we propose a practical method for setting up a daily production plan which can operate semiconductor fabrication factories more stably and linearly by determining work in process (WIP) targets and movement targets. We first adjust cycle times of the operations to satisfy the monthly production plan. Second, work in process (WIP) targets are determined to control the production progress of operations: earliness and tardiness. Third, movement targets are determined to reduce cumulated differences between WIP targets and actual WIPs. Finally, the determined movement targets are modified through a simulation model which considers capacities of the equipments and allocations of the WIPs in the fab. The proposed daily production planning method can be easily adapted to the memory semiconductor fabs because the method is very simple and has straightforward logics. Although the proposed method is simple and straightforward, the power of the method is very strong. Results from the shop floor in past few periods showed that the proposed methodology gives a good performance with respect to the productivity, workload balance, and machine utilization. We can expect that the proposed daily production planning method will be used as a useful tool for operating semiconductor fabrication factories more efficiently and effectively.
Restoration of earthenware is largely composed of selection of clay, making(forming), and firing. This study lays emphasis on the making method and open-air firing. For making methods, This study used coiling method partly with priority given to ring method. The most significant feature of this restoration work is the making method of tap-forming, in which 외박자(out tap instrument) and 내박자(inter tap instrument) would be tapped and formed. For firing, This study used open-air firing method in the most primitive way. This method needs no special device and equipment and makes the work more simple and easy. The previous study was on the making method by archeological and preservation-scientific research but this study emphasized the restoration work in an actual earthenware maker's position. Through the result of this study, This study wish this would be an opportunity to present another model of various restoration methods for other researchers those who wanted to participate in the restoration and openair firing.

In the construction of high-rise residential buildings in which the finishing works are done repetitively in each housing unit, the construction period and cost can be reduced, while maintaining the quality, if the work process is properly managed in order for the resources to be input continuously. Time management methods such as the Bar Chart, CPM and LOB are not appropriate, due to the difficulties involved in the diagraming of repetitive works and applying them to the project. The Tact method also has difficulties in maintaining a constant work flow and needs significant effort and cooperation from the subcontractors to allocate the resources consistently. Partitioning, base works for finishing, floor mortar plastering and the final finishing work are done sequentially in residential buildings projects, and there are many repetitive activities which differ in terms of the work method, work area and productivity. If these repetitive activities are synchronized or converged toward the last work area, the goal of process management can be achieved effectively. Therefore, a process planning method for the finishing works of residential building projects is proposed, which takes into consideration elements, such as the sequential relation between the activities in each housing unit and classification of repetitive works in terms of their management method, work area and production rate, for the continuous input of resources into the housing units.

From now on, the aged apartment or house is expected to increase rapidly. So, we have to build a process of remodeling and develop the new technique. Demolition work is needed for systematic plan and management. However, contractors of the remodeling project established a rough plan and did not consider recycling wastes, safety of workers and structural stability of building. Therefore, we need a step to develop a assessment system, verify and make specified. This paper evaluated how much improve on construction speed, work efficiency, intensity of work and influence with another process comparing the existing method with the new demolition method. The qualitative and quantitative assessment system are developed with these output. The case study was carried out experimental group and control group, based on developed assessment system, which have the same condition. The existing method was made up of 3 steps- 1)Demolish windows, doors and iron goods, 2)Demolish indoor and outdoor walls, 3)Drop the waste. The new demolition method was made up of 5 steps- 1)Demolish windows, doors and iron goods, 2)Demolish the ceiling and wall's finishing materials, 3)Demolish the floor's finishing materials, 4)Demolish indoor and outdoor walls, 5)Drop the waste. Work time, idle time, the character of a work unit are analyzed by mock-up test. This study's output is expected to establish a systematic process of new demolition method and based on the maximizing waste recycling work in our construction industry.
