  • Quercetin-3-O-${\beta}$-D glucofuranoside, mp 243-$6^{\circ}$, was isolate dfrom leaves of Polygonum sachalinense Fr. Schm and characterized on the basis of its spectral data. This is the second report of its occurrence in nature.

  • Direct comparison of the triterpenoids isolated from the seeds of Phytolacca sp. and synthetic compounds confirmed that the natural products were acetylaleuritolic acid and 3-acetylmyricadiol rather than epiacetylaleuritolic acid, acetyloleanolic acid and phytolaccanol.

  • In addition to the previous reported furoquinoline alkaloids, skimmianine, kokusaginine and confusameline, a rate furoquinoline alkaloid, heliparifoline, mp 241-$3^{\circ}$ was isolated from the leaves of Melcope contusa and characterized by spectral data.
