The conventional method to deal with current transformer (CT) Saturation is over dimensioning of the core so that CTs can carry up to 20 times the rated current without exceeding 10% ratio correction. However, this not only reduces the sensitivity of relays as some errors may still be present in the secondary current when a severe fault occurs, but also increases the CT size. This paper presents an algorithm for compensating the distorted secondary current of iron-cored CTs under CT saturation using the magnetization (flux-current : .lambda.-i) curve and its performance is examined for fault currents encountered on a typical 345[kV] Korean transmission system, under a variety of different system and fault conditions. In addition, the results of hardware implementation of the algorithm using a TMS320C10 digital signal processor are also presented. The proposed algorithm can improve the sensitivity of relays to low level internal faults, maximize the stability of relays for external faults, and reduce the required CT core cross-section significantly. The almost pole transformers are constructed with tank, cover, clamp etc., that contains the insulation oil, core, coil, terminals, bus and the other accessories. If some fault current will be flown by some trouble or accident, interior pressure of the transformer shall be very quickly rise, and mechanical components or insulation oil from the transformer enclosure shall be propelled or dropped from the tank. For the prevention of the above accident, recently the pole transformers should be done 'the Design Tests for Fault Current Capability' according to ANSI C57.12.20(1997) There are two tests method in this standard, Test Number I with a high current arcing fault, without internal fusible elements, shall be conducted on rack enclosure with its minimum designed air space. Test Number II with an internal fusible element, shall be conducted on each enclosure diameter utilizing the internal fusible elements. KEPCO recently request to be done the 'Design Tests for Fault Current Capability' for pole transformers according to KEPCO's standard ES141-$533{\sim}545$, PS141-$482{\sim}518$ and RS141-$611{\sim}628$ that is same with Test Number I of ANSI C57.12.20.
In this study, a new voltage-balancing dual-active bridge converter that integrates a DAB converter with a voltage balancer is proposed for a bipolar DC distribution system. The proposed converter is configured to connect two loads to the transformer secondary center tap of the DAB converter, and no additional components are added. The proposed converter has the same operation as the conventional DAB converter, and it makes both output voltages similar. Moreover, the imbalanced current offset between the two loads is bypassed only on the secondary side of the transformer. Consequently, the proposed converter integrates a voltage balancer without any additional components, and no additional loss occurs in the corresponding components. Thus, high efficiency and high power density can be achieved. The feasibility of the proposed converter is verified using 3 kW prototypes under 380 V input and 190/190 V output conditions.
This paper describes the posture stabilization control of a bipedal transformer robot being developed for military use. An inverted pendulum model with a rectangular that considers the robot's inertia is proposed, and a posture stabilization moment that can maintain the body tilt angle is derived by applying disturbance observer and state feedback control. In addition, vertical force and posture stabilization moments that can maintain the body height and balance are derived through QP optimization to obtain the necessary torques and vertical force for each foot. The roll and pitch angles of the IMU sensor attached to the robot's feet are reflected in the ankle joint to enable flexible adaptation to changes in ground inclination. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in posture stabilization is verified by comparing and analyzing the difference in body tilt angle due to disturbances and ground inclination changes with and without algorithm application, using Gazebo dynamic simulation and a down-scale test platform.
In this paper, a new single phase voltage sag/swell compensator using direct power conversion is introduced. A new compensator consists of input/output filter, series transformer and direct ac-ac converter, which is a single-phase back-to-back PWM converter without dc-link capacitors. Advantages of the proposed compensator include: simple power circuit by eliminating dc-link electrolytic capacitors and thereby, improved reliability and increased life time of the entire compensator; simple PWM strategy to compensate voltage sag/swell at the same time and reduced switching losses in the ac-ac converter. Further, the proposed scheme is able to adopt simple switch commutation method without requiring complex four-step commutation method commonly required in the direct power conversion. Simulation results are shown to demonstrate the advantages of the new compensator and PWM strategy.
This paper proposes an earthing system without ground connection. As a Green IT Environmental Solution, Internal-external surge and other unnecessary electric currents are converted into energy and through a discharge the signal is reduced. It's a structure that discharges through a neutral electric transformer. The results show that the electric potential rising of the earthing system proposed in this paper are approximately below the half and the discharge currents increased approximately 9 times when compared to existent earthing systems. This earthing system is economical, easy to install and can solve environmental contamination.
As the system reliability of power supply is highly increased, we need distribution maintenance techniques without any power interruption. To meet such an increasing demand, a groat deal of hot line work on the high voltage overhead distribution lines has been carried out. In this regard, Hot line work techniques has being applied widely. However, hot line work techniques can not cover all kinds of work without interruption. To cope with those problems, the temporary power supply work technique such as bypass cable truck technique, temporary switch technique and mobile transformer technique was developed and applied. This paper presents the most optimal method according to distribution work contents through the comparison and analysis the characteristis and problems of the existing various work techniques. Also this paper suggested the countermeasers of the prsent problems.

A 220V, 3kVA single-phase compensator based on the digital signal processor controller is built and tested.
In this paper, the conducted EMI reduction performances of active feed-forward current-sensing current-actuation (CSCA) and voltage-sensing current-actuation (VSCA) filters for a three-phase induction motor drive system are evaluated by experiments. For comparison purposes, the conducted EMI (CM emission, DM emission and total emission) of a three-phase induction motor drive with a conventional CM choke, a conventional CM choke in series with an active VSCA filter, and an active CSCA filter (where the CM choke was modified and used as a sensing current transformer) were compared to the case of a system without any filter inserted. Experimental results show that the active CSCA and VSCA filters can improve the CM reduction performance of the conventional CM choke by about 5 dB especially at low-frequencies. However, for DM comparisons, it shows that there is no different between cases with and without filters inserted.
