Recently, wireless power transmission has attracted much interest and is the subject of much research in industry and academia. As its name implies, it is a technology which involves transferring power without wires. This paper presents the design of an ICT-based wireless power transmission system. The proposed system consists of a wireless transceiver unit and high-efficiency coil unit, which can increase both the transmission efficiency and the effective power distance. In particular, the wireless transceiver unit was designed to work with the ICT technique to enable real-time remote monitoring. Also, studies were done relating to the effect of reducing the standby power. The optimal frequency of IGBT devices used in industrial wireless power systems of 20[KHz] was utilized. The values of $23.9[{\mu}H]$ and $2.64[{\mu}F]$ were selected for L and C, respectively, through many field experiments designed to optimize the system design. In addition, an output current controlling algorithm was developed for the purpose of reducing the standby power. The results presented in this paper represent a 75[%] to 85[%] higher power transmission efficiency with a 10[%] increase in the effective power transmission distance compared with the existing systems. As a result, the proposed system exhibits a lower standby power and maintenance costs. Also, the designed wireless transceiver unit facilitates fault detection by means of user acquired data with the development of the ICT applied program.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of a wire connector fabricated for the effective installation of a lighting fixture including its contact resistance, insulation resistance, withstanding voltage characteristics, etc., and to provide the basis for the analysis and judgment of PL(Product Liability) dispute by presenting a damage pattern due to a general flame and overcurrent. This study applied the Korean Standard (KS) for the incombustibility test of the connector using a general flame and performed an overcurrent characteristics test of the connector using PCITS (Primary Current Injection Test System). The contact resistance of the housing connector was measured using a high resistance meter and the insulation resistance was measured using a multimeter. In addition, a supply voltage of AC 1,500V for testing the withstanding voltage characteristics was applied to both ends of the connector. Measurement was performed on 5 specimens and the measured values were used as a basis for judgment. Since the connector is fabricated in the form of a housing, it can be connected and separated easily and has a structure that allows no foreign material to enter. In addition, since it has a structure that allows wires to be connected only when their polarity is identical, any misconnection that may occur during installation can be prevented. When the incombustibility test was performed by applying a general flame to the connector, it showed outstanding incombustibility characteristics and the blade and blade holder connected to the housing remained firmly secured even after the insulation sheath (PVC) was completely destroyed by fire. In addition, the mechanism of the damaged connecting wire showed a comparatively uniform carbonization pattern and it was found that some residual melted insulation material was attached to both ends. In the accelerated life test (ALT) to which approximately 500% of the rated current was applied, the connector damage proceeded in the order of white smoke generation, wire separation, spark occurrence and carbonization. That is, it could be seen that the connector damaged by overcurrent lost its own metallic color with traces of discoloration and carbonization. The contact resistance of the connector at a normal state was 2.164mV/A on average. The contact resistance measured after the high temperature test was 3.258mV/A. In addition, the insulation resistance after the temperature test was completed was greater than $10G\Omega$ and the withstanding voltage test result showed that no insulation breakdown occurred to all specimens showing stable withstanding voltage and insulation resistance characteristics.

Purpose: In cases where nasal fractures involve frontal process of maxilla or perpendicular plate of ethmoid, 4 - 5 days of nasal packing may not provide sufficient support for avoiding displacement after packing removal. Therefore a single Kirschner - wire(K - wire) is used as an internal splint when nasal fractures involve the above two areas. Methods: Thirty five patients during the last 3 practical years were treated with a K -wire pinning according to the anatomic locations of nasal fractures. We performed a retrospective study using 13 nasal fractures out of total 35 patients. Among 13 cases, 10 patients involved frontal process of maxilla, and 3 patients were diagnosed as bilateral nasal side wall fractures accompanied with fractures of perpendicular plate of ethmoid. One patient of the last three cases had been augmented with dorsal silicone implant long before the trauma. We analyzed the anteroposterior displacement of key stone area and the width between both lateral walls by comparing immediate postoperative radiographs with 2 month follow - ups. To reduce the errors, the same measurements were taken by two different inspectors, and the mean of each inspector's measurements was compared. Patient satisfaction was analyzed using a questionnaire regarding the esthetic and functional outcomes. Results: Ten patients underwent a longitudinal K - wire fixation in submucoperiosteal plane underneath the frontal process of maxilla. And three patients underwent a transverse K - wire fixation from the one side of lateral wall to the perpendicular plate of ethmoid and to the other side of lateral wall. The mean postoperative anteroposterior displacement of the key stone area measured by two inspectors were 1.84% and 3.06%; mean narrowing of bony pyramid were 1.33% and 1.48%, respectively. Subjective satisfaction scores regarding the esthetic appearance and the maintenance of nasal shape compared with immediate post - operative state with the long term ones were not different (p>0.05). Conclusion: K - wire pinning after closed reduction is a reliable and useful method for the treatment of nasal fractures involving frontal process of maxilla or perpendicular plate of ethmoid. This is because it achieves longer intranasal support after reduction. This method also leaves conspicuous external scar, and minimal soft - tissue injury.

Burning rate of the matrix propellant($r_{sb}$) and burning rate along the metal wire($r_w$) were measured and analyzed for the HTPB/AP/Al propellant embedded with Ag wire($\phi$0.15mm) according to weight % of RDX(0~20%). Variation of burning rate increment ratio($r_w$/$r_{sb}$) and pressure exponent(n) was studied for the nitramine propellant having 10% RDX embedded with three kinds of metal(Ag, Cu, and Ni-Cr) of which diameter range is between 0.1~0.6mm. Maximum burning rate increment ratio of the nitramine propellant embedded with Ag wire($\phi$0.1mm) was 5.94 at $20^{\cire}C$, 1000 psia, 16.4% faster than that of HTPB/AP propellant, it is because that autoignition temperature of the nitramine propellant was higher than that of HTPB/AP propellant. Standard deviation of absolute ($r_{wc}$/$r_{we}$)/$r_{we}$ calculated by using new empiracal equation composed of four dimensionless groups, is 6.11% less than that calculated by using original empirical equation composed of three dimensionless group. The new empiracal equation is derived from Buckingham pi theorem using the parameters such as thermal diffusivity, melting temperature. wire diameter, propellant sample diameter, frame temperature, autoignition temperature and matrix burning rate which influence on $r_w$.
In this study, the propagation characteristics and the fabrication tolerance of an optical wire in a flexible optical PCB were analyzed by using a ray-tracing method. It is found from the analysis that the sidewall angle of a core should be controlled within $1^{\circ}$ in order to maintain the propagation loss to less than -1 dB/mm, and that the bending radius of the optical wire should be larger than 5 mm in order to suppress the bending loss below -1 dB. In addition, it is confirmed that the lateral misalignment of ${\pm}15\;{\mu}m$, and the angular tilting of VCSEL of $6^{\circ}$ are allowable for the coupling loss of -1 dB.
This paper proposes how to fabricate an educational Mach-Zehnder interferometer that is easy to align and inexpensive, using 3D printers and semiconductor lasers. The interferometer consists of a body $165mm{\times}120mm{\times}57mm$ in size, mirror mounts, a laser holder, beam splitters, and so on. The laser path is adjusted by 4 mirror mounts, each comprised of rubber bands, small metal wires, and a screw. The interference fringe is enlarged by the lens at the final stage. The refractive index of a slide glass was measured by counting the number of moving interference fringes while the slide glass, inserted into one of the two interferometer arms, is rotating. The formula for the refractive index as a function of the optical-path difference and rotation angle was obtained, and used to calculate the refractive index of glass from the interferometer experiment. The use of a rotating glass in one arm of the interferometer nullifies the need for a precision stage, which despite its high cost is often required to observe the moving interference fringe in the classroom. Therefore, the 3D-printed Mach-Zehnder interferometer proposed in this paper can be very useful for education, because of its affordability and performance. It enables students to perform both qualitative and quantitative studies using a 3D-printed interferometer, such as measuring the refractive index of a glass sample, and the wavelength of light.
In general, a non-explosive nylon wire cutting-based holding and release mechanism has been used to store and deploy deployable solar panels of CubeSat. However, with this method, accessing the solar panel's access port for charging the cube satellite's battery and electrical inspection and testing of the PCB and payloads while the solar panel is in storage is difficult. Additionally, the mechanism must have a reliable release function in an in-orbit environment, and reusability for stow and deploy of the solar panel, which is a hassle for the operator and difficult to maintain a consistent nylon wire fastening process. In this study, we proposed a pin-puller-based solar panel holding and release mechanism that can easily deploy a solar panel without cutting nylon wires by separating constraining pins. The proposed mechanism's release function and performance were verified through a solar panel deployment test and a maximum separation load measurement test. Through this, we also verified the design feasibility and effectiveness of the pin-puller-based separation device.

In order to efficiently inspect rapidly increasing old tunnels in many well-developed countries, many inspection methodologies have been proposed using imaging equipment and image processing. However, most of the existing methodologies evaluated their performance on a clean concrete surface with a limited area where other objects do not exist. Therefore, this paper proposes a 6-step framework for tunnel crack detection deep learning model development. The proposed method is mainly based on negative sample (non-crack object) training and Cascade Mask R-CNN. The proposed framework consists of six steps: searching for cracks in images captured from real tunnels, labeling cracks in pixel level, training a deep learning model, collecting non-crack objects, retraining the deep learning model with the collected non-crack objects, and constructing final training dataset. To implement the proposed framework, Cascade Mask R-CNN, an instance segmentation model, was trained with 1561 general crack images and 206 non-crack images. In order to examine the applicability of the trained model to the real-world tunnel crack detection, field testing is conducted on tunnel spans with a length of about 200m where electric wires and lights are prevalent. In the experimental result, the trained model showed 99% precision and 92% recall, which shows the excellent field applicability of the proposed framework.

Wireless charging has been actively researched and popularized owing to the potential convenience of being able to charge electronic devices without wires for users. However, the receiver on the wireless charging pad is not charged when the center of the receiver is misaligned; thus, the center of the receiver must be adjusted well. This misalignment may greatly reduce the convenience of wireless charging. To overcome this limitation of wireless charging, a coil is designed to improve the positional freedom of the receiver. The positional freedom of the Rx coil is improved when the outer diameter of Tx coil is larger than when Rx and Tx coils are almost the same size. When the Tx coil has a larger outer diameter than that of the Rx coil, the efficiency at the center is somewhat lowered, but the efficiency is improved compared to when the center is out of order. In this paper, a double coil structure having an outer and an inner coil is proposed. The double coil structure further improves the efficiency, compared with one coil with the same outer size. The simulation and measurement results demonstrated that the tendency was consistent, and it was verified that the degree of freedom of the Rx coil is improved by adding the inner coil, while the size of the outer coil was the same. The measurement shows that the transmission efficiency of the conventional Tx coil is 37 %, the larger outer diameter coil is 45 %, and double coil is 47 % when the distance of the Tx/Rx coil is 3 mm, the misalignment is 15 mm and current flowing in the Rx coil is 1 A at an operating frequency of 105 to 210 kHz.

Precast concrete (PC) structure is one of the type of the structures which is made in a facility prior to installing it to a construction field. The contact surfaces between two PC structures should be treated for obtaining enough binding force by inducing prestressing force. However, in the many cases, the contact surface causes the crack and leakage of water. These cracks and water leakage can cause the corrosion of the rebar, and the corrosion of the rebar can severely reduce the long-term durability. In this study, the SMA wire connector is suggested to solve the problem with the contact surfaces between two PC structures. The pull-out resistance of the suggested SMA wire connector is evaluated by conducting the tests to find the effect of the number of wires, shape of connector part, and shape memory effect. As a result of this study, the empirical formula is suggested to estimate the pull-out resistance related with the effects of the shape of the connector, shape memory effect, and the adhesive force. The validity between the estimated pull-out resistance and the measured value is confirmed.
