We developed the management system program between the door-lock system and the proposed unified modem. The infrared communication system was used between the Door-Lock system and the power line modem. With the unified developed modem and the Door-Lock system, it is possible to control remotely the developed system in the internet service area.

  • As wireless power transfer (WPT) technology using strongly coupled electromagnetic resonators is a recently explored technique to realize the large power delivery and storage without any cable or wire, this technique is required for diffusion of electric vehicles (EVs) since it makes possible a convenient charging system. Typically, since the normal conducting coils are used as a transmitting coil in the CPT system, there is limited to deliver the large power promptly in the contactless EV charging system. From this reason, we proposed the combination CPT technology with HTS transmitting antenna, In this study, we examined the improvement of transmission efficiency and properties for HTS and copper antennas, respectively, at 30 cm distance. Thus, we obtained improved transfer efficiency with HTS antenna over 10% compared with copper antenna

  • This study considers a joint congestion control, routing and power control for energy-constrained wireless networks. A mathematical model is introduced which includes maximization of network utility, maximization of network lifetime, and trade-off between network utility and network lifetime. The framework would maximize the overall throughput of the network where the overall throughput depends on the data flow rates which in turn is dependent on the link capacities. The link capacity on the other hand is a function of transmit power levels and link Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise-Ratio (SINR) which makes the power allocation problem inherently difficult to solve. Using dual decomposition techniques, subgradient method, and logarithmic transformations, a joint algorithm for rate and power allocation problems was formulated. Numerical examples for each optimization problem were also provided.

  • Previous work proposed combining multipulse pulse position modulation (MPPM) with pulse amplitude modulation to form multipulse amplitude and position modulation (MPAPM), which is a hybrid modulation that results in an improvement in bandwidth efficiency but a degradation in power efficiency. In this paper, to achieve greater power efficiency and a better data rate, we propose multipulse dual amplitude-width modulation, based on MPAPM and pulse width modulation. The proposed scheme shows a remarkable improvement in data rate and a 1.5-dB improvement in power efficiency over MPAPM, while sustaining the bandwidth efficiency. After introducing symbol structure, we present the theoretical expressions of spectral efficiency, the power requirements, and the normalized data rate, as well as the results of comparing the proposed modulation to MPPM and MPAPM.

  • The release of IEEE 802.15.4 PHY-MAC standard represents a milestone in developing of commercial wireless sensor network pursuing low power and low cost. In this paper, IEEE 802.15.4 Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol was analysed at the point of power consumption. This analysis measured the amount of the rest of power after transmitting data with beacon enabled mode and the power consumption of each node in the time period. ns-2 simulation is used to verify the analysis.

  • Outdoors we can easily acquire our accurate location by GPS. However, the GPS signal can't be acquired indoors because of its weak signal power level. Adequate positioning method is demanded for many indoor positioning applications. At present, wireless local area network (WLAN) is widely installed in various areas such as airport, campus, and park. This paper proposes a positioning algorithm using WLAN signal strength to provide the position of the WLAN user indoors. There are two methods for WLAN based positioning, the signal propagation method uses signal strength model over space and the empirical method uses RF power propagation database. The proposed method uses the probability distribution of the power propagation and the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) algorithm based on power strength DB. Test results show that the proposed method can provide reasonably accurate position information.

  • This letter considers wireless energy and information transfer for an amplify-and-forward two-way relay network. When the relay harvests the energy and transfers the information signal through power splitting, the optimal power splitting minimizing the outage probability is derived explicitly and its gain is confirmed by simulations.

  • Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been adopted as a standard for various high data rate wireless communication systems due to the spectral bandwidth efficiency, robustness to frequency selective fading channels, etc. However, implementation of the OFDM system entails several difficulties. One of the major drawbacks is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), which results in intercarrier interference, high out-of-band radiation, and bit error rate performance degradation, mainly due to the nonlinearity of the high power amplifier. This paper reviews the conventional PAPR reduction schemes and their modifications for achieving the low computational complexity required for practical implementation in wireless communication systems.

  • This paper presents a smart monitoring technique for photovoltaic power systems by using wire and wireless communication networks in which the RS-232/484 and the Zigbee communication networks are inherently established respectively. In the proposed monitoring systems, environmental data sequences and the output power measured by sensors in photovoltaic systems are transferred to PC systems via two communication networks. We made electronic hardware boards for sensors and communication networks to construct its real-time monitoring system and carry out experiments for demonstrating reliability of the proposed monitoring system.

  • Capacitive power transfer has an advantage in the simplicity of the energy link structure. So, the conventional phase -shift full bridge sometime is not always the best choice because of its complexity and high cost. On the other hand, the link capacitance is usually very low and requires high-frequency operation, but, the series resonant converter loses zero-voltage switching feature in the light load condition, which makes the switching loss high especially in CPT system. The paper proposes a new low-cost topology based on asymmetric half-bridge to achieve simplicity as well as wide zero voltage switching range. The design procedure is presented, and circuit operations are analyzed and verified by simulation.
