  • This paper distinguish between the types of LANs used to connect the internet used by many in the fourth industrial era and compare speeds. 802.11 is fastest and it's running at 300Mbps. And second fastest is running at 54Mbps. In compare second, 802.11n is faster second at six times. So we can prediction the wireless lan's transmission speed will be faster in future.

  • As the usage of wireless LAN becomes common in working environment, the number of database systems that support both wired and wireless users increases rapidly. The characteristics of wireless LAN that its speed is slow relatively comparing to wired network and the users in its environment connects to different communication points as they moves creates another challenge to be resolved in database systems. In the environment of hybrid communication systems, wired and wireless for voluminous data amount and a number of users, the two layer architecture of the conventional client-server database systems has limitation in the system performance. This is due to that server is the only point of data service in client-server database systems. In this paper, we discuss a new extended database system architecture that data services are distributed among servers and clients based on user database access patterns in order to improve system performance. We analyze the expected system performance by using simulation technique and prove the practical utilization of the system by demonstrating experimental results.

  • This paper discusses performance evaluation methodologies for wired/wireless Ethernet adaptors. This paper defines test cases for performance evaluation of LAN adaptor and its environments. Performance evaluation of LAN adaptor is mote complex as compared with interconnection devices such as Ethernet HUB and Ethernet switch, because its performance depends on the system on which the adaptor is plugged. Such dependencies include CUP type, RAM size, system bus architecture(PCI bus clock), etc.

  • Wi-Fi is a rapidly spreading communications network with Smart phone's publication, the technology has become Ubiquitous-based core network which is connected to personal computers, laptops, and tablet PC. Wi-Fi can send currently a variety of data standard due to developed wireless LAN communications network. One of Wi-Fi standard protocols, which is IEEE 802.11n, use 2.4GHz and 5GHz band. 2.4GHz band is used for 802.11b/g protocol because wavelength is long, diffraction and receiving distance is enough to connect other device. 5GHz band has more available channels to use than 2.4GHz band, so there is no frequency interference of other wireless device such as Bluetooth, RFID. Moreover, there is low interference between channels due to small users in each bandwidth level. In the thesis, we are going to analyze 802.11a/b/g protocol which has used since the beginning of Wi-Fi protocol and 802.11n protocol which is used lately. Furthermore, we look into development and direction for standardization of the next generation wireless LANs which are 802.11ac and 802.11ad. In addition, we will consider for the security, vulnerabilities and its countermeasure in Wireless LAN.

  • Ship's wireless LAN was in the limelight as equipment of ease, cost reduction, various func tion al i ty. In the paper, a dual-bandpass filter for wireless LAN has proposed, which was designed by using dual-mode square loop resonator with square patch in compliance with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band of wireless LAN. The dual-bandpass filter could be designed by adjusting sizes of one perturbation element and three of reference elements in compliance with the frequency bands of 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz, Furthermore, new dual-bandpass filter was also designed by adjusting stopband of using open stubs in compliance with the frequency bands of 2.4 GHz and 5.2 GHz. The measured results for the fabricated dual-bandpass filters agreed well with the simulated ones, and hence, it was confirmed that the proposed design method is valid.

  • Recently, new technologies based on wireless LAN is being studied because utilization on smart phone using Wi-Fi is increased. 802.11 b/g/a is universalized wireless LAN technologies based on ISM, the standard developed in 11's working group of IEEE 802. standardization about IEEE 802.11ac that overcame limitation on Blue-ray of IEEE 802.11n or uncompressed video transmission and IEEE 802.af's technologies using TVWS is being actively studied. In this paper, ability of transmission considering the security on AP operated by these technologies have measured and done a comparative analysis with existing wireless LAN environment ability of transmission measured when appling security is more stable than existing ability of transmission in an environment with obstacles and shorten of transmission time is confirmed as a result of analysis.

  • A RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) system is a kind of radio frequency communication system and a branch of automatic data collection system. RFID system consists of RFID tags(or transponders) and RFID readers(controllers). This paper deals with the wireless communication that acquires tag IDs through RFID readers, and show the implementation of the target system which transmits tag IDs and related information to the server on the Internet through the wireless local area network. Today's RFID systems are usually implemented with the wired communication environment. In this paper, however, RFID system is effectively realized with the widely deployed wireless local area network and various RFID data can be collected by the readers which are communicating with the wireless access points of the local area network. Through the Internet, users also can have easy access to the server on the web and retrieve, analyze, and utilize tags' information.

  • This paper analyzes the throughput of DCF protocol at the MAC layer in the 802.11a wireless LAN. The throughput of DCF protocol is related on probability of backoff, depends on retransmission of each terminal. This paper applied to nonmarcov discrete model for each terminal BER in the base station versus the packet throughput is progressing with the data rate of 6,12,24,54 Mbps, We find the fact that the less the data rate be the higher the throughput. We also find from the throughput calculation by means of traffic intensity in OFDM wireless LAN.
