무선 USB 동글을 위한 내장형 광대역 안테나 (Internal Ultra-Wideband Antenna for Wireless USB Dongles)

  • 본 논문에서는 초소형 무선 USB 동글 장치를 위한 광대역 접힌(folded) 모노폴 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 CPW 급전으로부터 삼지창 형상의 선로를 적용하여 광대역 특성을 구현하였다. 최종 설계된 안테나의 크기는 $16{\times}44.8{\times}3.5\;mm^3$이며, low-profile의 무선 USB 동글용 안테나에 적합하다. 제안된 안테나는 $S_{11}$ < -10 dB 기준으로 2.28~10.8 GHz의 공진 주파수 대역을 가지므로 WiBro (2.3~2.4 GHz), Bluetooth (2.4~2.484 GHz), WiMAX (2.5~2.7 GHz, 3.4~3.6 GHz), satellite DMB (2.605~2.655 GHz), 802.11b/g/a WLAN (2.4~2.485 GHz, 5.15~5.825 GHz), UWB(3.1~10.6 GHz)의 무선 대역을 지원 할 수 있다. 측정된 평균 이득의 범위는 -3.41 dBi 에서 -0.84 dBi 이다.

DEA를 이용한 통신 사업자의 효율성 측정에 관한 연구

  • This paper deals with the estimation of efficiency of Telecommunication Operators(TOs) using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). The measure of efficiency using DEA accomplishes next two steps. First, the efficient frontier is derived using the data of input and output. And then the efficiency of the decision making units are measured by the distances from this frontier To measure efficiency, we consider a one-output, three-input production function. We use the tangible assets, investment cost, the number of employees for input data and measure the output by the revenue. After measuring the efficiency, We can compare the domestic TOs with the international TOs and the wire TOs with wireless ones by average efficiency. After accomplishing the analysis of efficiency, the internal/external efficiency is measured simultaneously through correlation between efficiency and profitability, quality level.

  • Wireless sensor networks have taken immense interest in healthcare systems in recent years. One example of it is in an in vivo sensor that is deployed in critical and sensitive healthcare applications like artificial retina, cardiac pacemaker, drug delivery, blood pressure, internal heat calculation, glucosemonitoring etc. In vivo sensor nodes exhibit temperature that may be very dangerous for human tissues. However, existing in vivo thermal aware routing approaches suffer from hotspot creation, delay, and computational complexity. These limitations motivate us toward an in vivo virtual backbone, a small subset of nodes, connected to all other nodes and involved in routing of all nodes, -based solution. A virtual backbone is lightweight and its fault-tolerant version allows in vivo sensor nodes to disconnect hotspot paths and to use alternative paths. We have formulated the problem as m-connected k-dominating set problem with minimum temperature cost in in vivo sensor network. This is a combinatorial optimization problem and we have been motivated to use evolutionary approach to solve the problem.

  • This paper develops and defends the concept of reference-quality in consumer choice, demonstrating its impact on aggregated market demand. The concept of reference-quality refers to an internal standard against which observed qualities are compared in consumer choice behavior. In doing so, we examine and reveal the formation mechanism and the structure of reference-quality in the U.S. wireless phone market. Consequently, we recognize and introduce a brand-specific reference both in price and product quality in aggregated product demand which enable us to measures the responsiveness of market demand to the innovation of a certain brand.

  • A Transcutaneous Energy Transmission System (TET) has been developed for the wireless energy transmission with two magnetically coupled coils. A resonance circuit is used to raise the induced voltage and current of the secondary coil. Its resonance frequency depends on the internal resistance of circuit and the transferred energy. Because the transferred energy usually changes in wide range, the output voltage is unstable and the energy transferring efficiency decrease. A push-pull class E amplifier is usedto generate high frequency AC voltage. To maintain proper resonance frequency, the voltage output of the amplifier was continuously monitored and adjusted to the optimized resonance frequency. Because of its high frequency (370 kHz), a phase lockedloop circuit and a comparator are used to monitor the output waveform. The results of experimentaldata show that the PLL circuit can increase the transmission efficiency and stabilize the output voltage of TET.

  • 컴퓨터와 네트워크의 보급이 일반화되면서 인터넷을 통한 정보 전달이 일상 생활처럼 되고있다. 또한 인터넷, 무선통신, 그리고 자료 교환에 대한 증가로 인해 다른 사용자와 접속하기 위한 방식은 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 그러나 기존의 침입 차단 시스템과 침입 탐지 시스템과 같은 시스템 외부방어 개념의 보안 대책은 전산망 내의 중요한 정보 및 자원을 보호함에 있어서 그 한계를 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 해킹으로 판단되는 침입에 대하여 라우터의 구조적 변경 없이 효율적으로 역추적 하기 위해서 ICMP 역추적 메시지(ICMP Traceback Message)를 이용한 ICW 기반의 역추적 시스템을 설계한다.

  • 유비쿼터스는 기존의 도큐멘테이션과 사이버공간 그리고 첨단 디지털 기술이 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅과 네트워크환경에서 무선 단말기와 결합한 형태를 말한다. 이러한 유비쿼터스 환경은 도서관과 박물관의 기능과 역할을 더욱 확장시켜, 정보의 생산과 정보제공방식에 상당한 변화를 가져올 것으로 예측된다. 이 연구는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅과 네트워크 기술을 활용하여 변화되는 도서관과 박물관의 현상을 다각토로 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하며, 특히 정보이용자에 대한 서비스 및 관리경영 측면에서 발생하는 변화를 예측하고자 하였다.

  • Implantable biotelemetry systems are indispensable tools not only in animal research but also in clinical medicine as such systems enable the acquisition of otherwise unavailable physiological data. We present the manufacture of CMOS IC and its system for implantable multichannel biotelemeter system. The internal circuits of this system are designed not only to achieve as multiple functions and low power dissipation as possible but also to enable continuous measurement of physiological data. Its main functions are to enable continuous measurement of physiological data and to accomplish on-off power swiching of an implantable battery by receiving appropriate commanc signals from an external circuit. The implantable circuits of this system are designed and fabricated on a single silicon chip using $1.5\mu$m n-well CMOS process technology. The total power dissipation of implantable circuits for a continuous operation was 6.7mW and for a stand-by operation was 15.2$\mu$ W. This system used together with approriate sensors is expected to contribute to clinical medicine telemetry system of measuring and wireless transmitting such significant physiological parameters as pressure pH and temperature.

  • With development of IT technology, the ubiquitous has been realized in various industry. In construction industry, as well, end-edge techniques have been introduced such as managing technique the temperature and compressive strength of the concrete placed in structure in domestic and abroad project sites. However, several problems were found during application at the actual field regarding difficulties of connecting Bluetooth communication due to the short communication range, diffuse reflection caused by aluminum formwork, and high cost by using one-time sensor. Therefore to recover these shortages, and improve the performances, the wireless sensor network based concrete IoT management system for concrete early-age quality management was developed.

  • This paper persents how to port HAL (Handset Abstraction Layer) on embedded Linux to support WIPI (Wireless Internet Platform for Interoperability). As smart phones are widespread nowdays, the operating system is changing from a simple kernel like Qualcomm REX OS to more feature-rich Linux kernel. For this reason, we investigate the internal structure of HAL on REX OS and design how to port it to embedded Linux. Careful analysis leads us to identify several porting issues such as thread support, graphical user interface. In addition, we describe some problems discovered during the implementation process and propose alternative architecture of HAL for WIPI on Linux.
