A Study on QoS-Oriented Network Selection Mechanism using MIH Function in Heterogeneous Networks (차세대 네트워크 환경에서 OB 기능을 이용한 QoS 지향적인 네트워크 선택 메커니즘에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a new priority Optical Burst Switching (OBS) protocol based on a hop count, which can provide an efficient utilization in optical wireless networks. Under several legacy schemes, a switch drops the burst with a shorter time among ones regardless of its traversed hop count. As a result, the dropped burst that have been traversed more hops might cause to waste bandwidth than the one traversed a few hops. Noting that this problem, we propose a Just Enough Time (JET) with a hop count scheme which can reduce the wasted bandwidth by prioritizing the burst traversed more hops over others. The simulation results shows that the proposed scheme has more advantages over the legacy schemes in terms of the burst blocking probability and the link utilization.

  • 지금까지의 주변 환경 정보를 감지 및 분석하는 구조물 감시 시스템은 유선으로 구성되었다. 이러한 유선 시스템이 가지는 단점들을 해결하기 위해 무선 센서 네트워크를 이용한 연구들이 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 무선 센서 네트워크란 지역적으로 배치된 많은 수의 센싱 노드들 사이에서 데이터를 수집, 가공 및 무선으로 전송하는 하나의 네트워크이다. 본 연구에서는 센서 네트워크를 이용한 구조물 감시 시스템을 구현하고 성능을 측정하였다. 제안된 시스템에서의 가속도 측정 소프트웨어인 MultiHopAccel은 많은 센서 노드들 사이에서의 데이터 전송을 위한 멀티 홉 라우팅 기능과, 네트워크 내의 모든 노드들이 동일한 시간을 유지하기 위한 시간 동기화 기능을 제공한다. 본 연구에서는 MultiHopAccel을 통하여 센서 노드에 저장된 데이터들을 분석하고, 인터넷을 통하여 센서 노드들의 동작을 원격 감시 할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • Zigbee와 같은 무선 네트워크에서 전력 절감을 위하여서는 슈퍼프레임을 구성하는 비콘주기내에서 액티브구간과 인액티브구간으로 운용될 시 전력 소모를 줄이기 위하여 네트워크의 트래픽 특성과 부하 정도에 따라 액티브 구간을 적응 제어하는 방법이 제안되었다. 제안 방법에 따른 성능을 분석하여 전력 소모가 감소하여 보다 효과적인 센서 네트워크를 구축할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • 센서 네트워크 환경에서 각 센서 노드는 크기의 제약으로 인해 전력에 대한 한계점이 존재하여 데이터의 전송 및 데이터의 수집에 대한 작동을 최소화해야 한다. 특히, 데이터의 전송은 센서 노드의 전력소모에 큰 영향을 끼친다. 그리고 센서 네트워크에서는 근본적으로 높은 전송 에러율과 센서의 이동으로 인한 문제를 가진다. 본 논문에서는 가상환경에서 움직이거나 시간에 따라서 생기는 장애물에 대한 실질적인 전송 에러율 문제를 해결할 데이터 병합기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 신뢰성 있는 데이터 병합기법(RDAP : Reliable Data Aggregation Protocol)에 홉 수를 첨가하여 센서들이 예상치 못한 라우팅 경로 재설정으로 인해 센서노드의 센싱 값 손실을 방지할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the authentication system for home network service and applied it to actual sensor nodes. We achieved authentication key, encryption and decryption applied RC5 encryption algorithm of SNEP. In addition, we used pair-wise key pre-distribution for prevention of authentication sniffing in wireless sensor network. The experiment environment consists of a base station receiving data and sensor nodes sending data. Each sensor nodes sends both the data and encrypted authentication key to the base station. As a simulation environment, we assumed some what-if scenarios of security menaces in home network service. And we slightly altered the TOS_Msg construction of TinyOS. The experiences had shown that the malfunction doesn't happen in communication among other groups. And we confirmed in tests that the system is secure when a sensor having malicious propose is added.

  • As users generate lots of contents independently of time and places anytime and anywhere together with a rapid development of mobile wireless communication technologies and an explosive dissemination of smart devices, content centric networking (CCN) has emerged as a new networking architecture. However, as CCN is based on one to one message exchanges, it is not appropriate for ad hoc network environment that has frequent network topology changes, which results in high control overhead and low transmission throughput. So, this paper proposes the new content sharing methods using group interest messages in CCN ad hoc environment. It is shown from the simulation that the proposed method can provide low control overhead and high transmission throughput.

  • This paper describes the performance evaluation and analysis of Wireless Local Area Network (W-LAN) in the 5 GHz ISM-band in compliance with IEEE 802.11a. At present, most W-LAN products are based on 2.4 GHz band, but low speed (11Mbps) has the limitation to serve systems demanding high-speed data transmission. To solve this problem, it is necessary to design next generation W-LAN system with 54Mbps in the 5GHz. It is sure that implementation of next generation W-LAN will bring competitive advantages. In particular, it will support telecommunications for high-speed mobile environments as well as for fixed places such as a school zone, a lecture room, a hospital and other premises. A few simulation methods are applied to more accurate and reliable performance analysis of next generation W-LAN. To verify if continuous data service is supported for a high-speed mobile notebook, multi-path fading channels between wireless Access Point (AP) and wireless Network Interface Card (NIC) are modeled. In addition, low interference is analyzed via convolutional codes and Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Also, to obtain reliable Bit Error Rate (BER), a single tap Least Mean Square (LMS) equalizer is applied. Given the above simulation, next generation W-LAN is an ideal solution for continuous data transmission in high-speed mobile environments.

  • The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication services is being accelerated by broadband networks, digital broadcasting and Web2.0. This paper describes the definition and service characteristics of IPTV as a representative of broadcasting and telecommunication convergence services. Especially, the changes of infrastructure and technology for IPTV2.0 are addressed in terms of the service features of mobility, intelligence and participation. IPTV2.0 shall be characterized by the open IPTV service based on Web2.0 and the mobile IPTV service over the heterogeneous networks employing various wireless/wired access technologies. The IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Service Delivery Platform (SDP) technologies are increasingly considered to support the personalization and openness. The mobility management technology is being evolved to provide QoS-guaranteed mobile communication services to users at anytime and anywhere. IPTV2.0 services and platforms are also anticipated to be core components to achieve knowledge-based ubiquitous society. IPTV2.0 contents are required to be integrated with the enhanced metadata to efficiently support search, selection, convergence and delivery of the contents. Moreover, those contents shall be enhanced to provide the scalable services which is adaptable to the network status and user preferences. Therefore, the networking technologies for IPTV2.0 should tightly cooperate with application services and adaptive contents. Those technologies will be developed to construct the ubiquitous content service platform considering the evolution of networks and various converged services.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance of EY-NPMA(Elimination Yield-Non-preemptive Priority Multiple Access) protocol-channel access control protocol of HIPERLAN(HIgh PErformance Radio Local Area Network) type 1 specification, adopted as european high speed wireless LAN standard by ETSI(European Telecommunication Standards Institute). We established a system model for EY-NPMA protocol analysis, analyzed success probability in a channel access cycle, and derived expressions for the average length of contention phase. Using a M/G/1 model, we approximated the normalized delay, and throughput, and we evaluated these results by simulations.

  • In this paper, we propose a concept and model of an additional service system as a kind of convergence system of broadcast and telecommunication. The proposed system use existing back-bone network such as broadcasting or communication networks. For this, we derive channel capacity formula as an approximated closed-form expression in order to show how many reliable additional data can be transmitted through wireless fading channel. From the derived formula, we confirm that the channel capacity is varied according to channel and system parameters.
