The purpose of this study is to analyze the state-of-the-art daylighting design among LEED(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) multi-family housing cases and to explore the feasibilities for their applications in domestic housing design. Occupants in multi-family houses are reported to consume more electricity power than those in single houses. That may imply the problems of daylighting design in domestic housing design for multi-family houses have better insulation system and less windows and outside walls than single houses. Therefore two systems, daylight delivery system and daylight control system, are scrutinized for daylighting design with LEED cases. The findings show when windows as a daylight delivery system are combined with overhangs, fins, louvers, fenestration materials, speciality fenestration, or interior controls as a daylight control system, the outcome goes with more energy savings and better facade design. Beside those, lightshelves as a daylight delivery system seem to have potentials in domestic multi-family houses with deep plans and less outside walls. Daylighting designs in domestic multi-family houses need to pursue available options more to achieve the integration of energy and aesthetics values.

In this paper, we propose the implementation techniques of IC card chipset that is compatible with international standard ISO-7816 and supports WindowsCE operating system to expropriate various electronic cash and credit card. This IC card interface chip set is composed with 32 bit ARM720T Core and AES(Advanced Encryption System) cryptography module for electronic commerce. Six IC card interfaces support T=0, T=1 protocol and two of them are used to interface with user card directly, the others are used for interface with SAM card. In addition, It supports a LCD controller and USB interface for host. We improved the performance about 70% than software based It card chip set and verified using Hynix 0.35um process.

This paper presents a segmentation algorithm to extract endocardial contour and epicardial contour of left ventricle in MR Cardiac images. The algorithm is based on a generalized gradient vector flow(GGVF) snake and a prediction of initial contour(PIC). Especially. the proposed algorithm uses physical characteristics of endocardial and epicardial contours, cross profile correlation matching(CPCM), and a mixed interpolation model. In the experiment, the proposed method is applied to short axis MR cardiac image set, which are obtained by Siemens, Medinus, and GE MRI Systems. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can extract acceptable epicardial and endocardial walls. We calculate quantitative parameters from the segmented results, which are displayed graphically. The segmented left vents role is visualized volumetrically by surface rendering. The proposed algorithm is implemented on Windows environment using Visual C ++.

An effective computer program for assembling fragments in DNA sequencing has been developed. The program, called SeqEditor (Sequence Editor), is usable on the pcrsonal computer systems of MS-Widows which is the mosl popular operating system in Korea. It c'm recd several sequence file formats such as GenBak, FASTA, and ASCII. In the SeqEditor program, a dynamic programming algorihm is applied to compute the maximalscoring overlapping alignment between each pjlr of fragments. A novel feature of the program is that SeqEdilor implemnents interaclive operation with a graphical user interface. The performance lests of the prograln 011 fragmen1 data from 16s and 18s rDNA sequencing pi-ojects produced saiisIactory results. This program may be useful to a person who has work of time with large-scale DNA sequencing projects.

최근 급속도로 보급되고 있는 스마트폰은 큰 화면과 터치 기능은 물론 GPS를 포함한 다양한 센서와 표현기능이 포함되어 있다. 이 연구에서는 대부분의 스마트폰이 제공하고 있는 풍부한 표현성능을 최대한 활용하여 작가의 의도가 독자에게 최대한 전달될 수 있는 디지털 만화 감성 뷰어와 그 저작도구에 대하여 연구하고 구현하였다. 스마트폰에 탑재된 뷰어에서 독자는 각 Cut의 장면 전환 효과, 진동, 사운드 효과 등을 통하여 효과적인 디지털 만화읽기를 할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 이러한 기능들을 컴퓨터 비전문가인 만화저작자들이 쉽게 적용할 수 있는 저작도구를 구현하였다. 저작도구는 이러한 감성표현 기능 외에도 화면전환 효과와 씬플로우(scene-flow)도 작가의 의도대로 적용할 수 있도록 하였다. 뷰어는 Apple, Android, Windows Mobile과 Symbian 운영체제에 대해 개발하였으며, 저작도구는 Windows XP 환경에서 개발하였다. 이 연구에서 개발된 뷰어와 저작도구가 상용화되면 현재 일본제품이 독점하고 있는 국내 이동통신의 디지털 만화 시장에 적용될 것이며, 디지털 만화의 앱스토어로 발전될 수 있을 것이다.

As the development of information telecommunication technology and thus the information sharing and opening is accelerated, f system is exposed to various threatener and the avrious security incident is rasing its head with social problem. As countermeasure, to protect safely and prepare in the attack for a system from a be latent security threat, various security systems are been using such as IDS, Firewall, VPN etc.. But, expertise or expert is required to handle security system. The module, implemented in this paper, is based on Windows XP, like Linux and Unix, and has effect integrity and non-repudiation for a file.

Recently, because of the continuous rise of international oil price, energy saving is strongly demanding. So, Ecological technics of architecture such as use of natural energy have been actively explored in the field of building. In the method of utilizing natural energy, the key point is to saving energy effectively as not lowering the comfort of indoor environment, various systems investigated. Many papers about double skin facade system have been reported, it is announced broadly that the system is very effective in improvement of natural ventilation and indoor thermal environment, and also protecting outdoor sound. The shaft box facade is a special form of box window construction. It consists of a system of box windows with continuous vertical shafts that extend over a number of stories to create a stack effect. The facade layout consists of an alternation of box windows and vertical shaft segments. This research investigated the natural ventilation performance of shaft box type balcony which conform the shaft box type double skin to the exiting balcony construction. First, analyzed various types of exiting apartments, proto-type was decided. By using virtual environment Program, modeling the proto-type, compared the contribution of air temperature and the effect of outdoor air cooling. by this research, we confirmed that shaft box type balcony had many possibility for improvement of indoor environment.

The firewall is generally used to protect the internal information system from intruders and hackers who attack through the Internet. However, it is very difficult for a user to verify the performance of the firewall as well as the difference of the performance for the operating mode such as Bridge Mode and Gateway Mode. In this paper, the performance of a firewall on the operating systems or windows 2000, Linux, and FreeBSD is compared. Finally, The performance of a firewall on the FreeBSD is compared at different operating modes and the effect of the number of rules by testing throughput of a firewall is analyzed.

This paper presents a windows program package for solving security constrained OPF in interconnected Power systems, which is based on the combined application of evolutionary programming(EP) and sequential quadratic programming(SQP). The objective functions are the minimization of generation fuel costs and system power losses. The control variables are the active power of the generating units, the voltage magnitude of the generator, transformer tap settings and SYC setting. The state variables are the bus voltage magnitude, the reactive power of the generating unit, line flows and the tie line flow In OPF considering security, the outages are selected by contingency ranking method. The resulting optimal operating point has to be feasible after outages such as any single line outage(respect of voltage magnitude, reactive power generation and power flow limits). The OPF package proposed is applied to IEEE 14 buses and 10 machines 39 buses model system.

This paper describes the conversion system which translates wordprocessor file into ODIF(Open Document Interchange Format) data stream for document interchange between heterogeneous systems and applications. We design the translator according to ODA of international base standard, FOD26 of international funtional standard, and a BosukGul V file for source document file. This system is implemented using the Microsoft Windows and the ODAC(ODA Consortium) toolkit in the PC environment.
