  • This study evaluated the effects of knowledge, attitude, confidence and skills in pre-post and 3months after of CPR education on female nursing students. 49 nursing students were participated. Data were analyzed through descriptive analysis, t-test, repeated measure ANOVA and Bonferroni correction using SPSS/WIN 18.0. The results showed that although scores of knowledge of CPR were significantly increased from 14.47 to 16.71, 3 months after was decreased to 14.96 (F=36.77, p<.001). Scores of attitude were increased from 14.96 to 16.76, but decreased to 15.39 in 3 months (F=27.59, p<.001). There were significantly increased in scores of confidence from 29.39 to 32.55. Otherwise, 3months after was revealed 30.22 (F=19.50, p<.001). Skills were significantly decreased from $10.94{\pm}0.24$ after CPR education to $6.4{\pm}1.62$ in 3 months(t=21.22, p<.001). In conclusion, this research implies the needs of re-education on CPR before 3 months for effects and retention of CPR education.

  • This study investigated the relationship among emotional regulation, coping strategies and satisfaction in clinical practice, and examined factors influencing satisfaction with clinical practice in nursing students. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from May 1 to June 30, 2016. The study participants were 201 third and fourth year nursing students at four departments of nursing located in B and K metropolitan city. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS WIN v 20.0. The mean emotional regulation score was $3.73{\pm}0.48$, active coping was $2.79{\pm}0.33$, passive coping was $2.53{\pm}0.36$, and practice satisfaction was $3.58{\pm}0.46$. Statistically significant relationships were noted between emotional regulation and satisfaction with clinical practice (r=.391, p<.001), between active coping and satisfaction with clinical practice (r=.361, p<.001), between passive coping and satisfaction with clinical practice (r=.276, p<.001). Factors influencing satisfaction with clinical practice were satisfaction with the nursing major (${\beta}=-.322$, p<.001) and emotional regulation (${\beta}=.232$, p<.001). These factors explained 28.1% of variance in participant's satisfaction with clinical practice. In conclusion, effective nursing educational programs need to be developed to enhance satisfaction with clinical practice and to foster positive emotional regulation in nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of turnover intention of nursing according to the nurses' practice environments and job embeddedness in medium-to-small sized hospitals. A total of 131 nurses working in a hospital with less than 200 beds, and 145 nurses in a hospital with 200 to 400 beds were included in this study. Data were collected from 10th to 24th of August, 2015 and analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. The results were as follows: (a) Nurses' practice environment and job embeddedness showed no significant differences between the two groups, but there were significant differences of turnover intention between the two groups; (b) turnover intention was negatively correlated with nurses' practice environment and job embeddedness in each group; and (c) in hospital of less than 200beds, the factors of influencing turnover intention were job embeddedness, age and nurses' practice environment. Conversely, in a hospital with 200 to 400 beds, the factors of influencing turnover intention were job embeddedness, pay, and nurses' practice environment. This study suggests that to reduce turnover intention, we have to improve the practice environment of nurses and to enhance job embeddedness for nurses in medium-to-small sized hospitals.

This study was therefore undertaken to investigate the effects of club activities on the communication skills and self-leadership of nursing students. Convenience sampling method was applied for 147 students enrolled in the nursing department of university in D city, of which 119 subjects participated in club activities. Data was collected from October 15 to November 30, 2019, and analyzed by applying 𝑥2 test, t-test, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis, using the IBM SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. Results: Communication skill and self-leadership were above the middle level. Depending on the club activities, significant differences were obtained for grade (𝑥2=8.07, p=0.045), major satisfaction (𝑥2=8.26, p=0.010), and communication skill and behavior-focused strategies (t=4.48, p=0.036). Factors affecting communication skill were behavior-focused strategies, constructive thought pattern strategies, and activeness amongst club activities. Therefore, the numerous club activity experiences of subjects helped improve the communication skill which, in turn, helps improve self-leadership. Our study indicates the necessity to seek an educational strategy that encourages active club activities of nursing students, for improving the core competencies of professional nurses, encompassing communication skills and self-leadership.

Factors affecting the suicidal ideation of the subjects were emotional trauma (t=4.117, p<.001), stress (t=2.909, p=.004), depression (t=3.421, p=.001), and anxiety (t=2.875, p=.004), and the explanatory power was 34.1%. This study can be used as basic data for the development of a suicide prevention program by identifying correlations between emotional traumatic experience, stress, depression, and anxiety related to suicide ideation and identifying factors affecting suicide ideation. Based on these results, the development of programs to reduce the college student suicide rate is necessary.

  • This study examined the satisfaction difference in the aspects of awareness, information quality, and availability in healthcare applications according to smartphone user's characteristics. Data collection was conducted between September 17th and September 21st 2014 on the 193 people who had used healthcare applications, and the data collected were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Kruskal-Wallis test using SPSS WIN 20.0. Differences in satisfaction of healthcare application were observed according to the general characteristics, and according to age, education level, and income, as well as for healthcare application use characteristics, according to operation system, total use period, the number of installed healthcare applications, the sources of main information, use frequency, and reasons of no use. To establish strategies for the effective spread of mobile healthcare and development and distribution of healthcare applications, it will be necessary to confirm smartphone users' characteristics and it is important to reflect them in the strategies. In addition, it is necessary to develop and implement a range of strategies to ceaselessly induce the users' motives of use and to improve their degree of satisfaction to secure the constant use of developed health care applications.

  • This study examines ethical confidence among clinical nurses. Data were collected from the 10th to 29th November 2014 with a structured questionnaire from 125 clinical nurses. The data collected were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 21.0. to obtain percentage, average, mean rating, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression. The degree of ethical confidence in research targets showed remarkable differences statistically by age (F=3.14, p=.017), education (F=7.36, p<.001), career duration (t=-2.31, p=.024), and code of ethics knowledge (t=-3.17, p=.002). Ethical Confidence was positively correlated, r=.25(p<.001) with the degree of ethical values. There was a significant difference in Ethical Confidence by ethical value, education, and code of ethics knowledge. The total explanatory power was 15.0% and the explanatory power of the degree of ethical value(${\beta}=.28$) was greater than other factors. To help clinical nurses improve ethical confidence, interventions should be provided to increase ethical value, education, and knowledge about the code of ethics. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement such programs to improve ethical confidence in clinical nurses.
