  • In this paper, presents the Wilkinson power divider used integrated passive device (IPD) technology with excellent performance for personal communication services (PCS). The insertion loss of this power divider is 0.4 dB and the port isolation greater than 25 dB over the entire band. Return losses input and output ports are 18 dB and 19 dB, respectively. The power divider based on SI-GaAs substrate is designed within die size of about $0.775\times0.53\;mm^2$.

  • In this paper, two configurations (T-type and Y-type) of dual band Wilkinson Power Divider based upon Hilbert curves are presented. Formerly, the concept of Hilbert Curves was implemented in only designing microstrip antennas. In power dividers, this is the very first attempt of incorporating them for size reduction. In addition to this, an effect of inculcation of high-dielectric constant layer (Hafnium-oxide, HfO2, εr= 25) between a substrate and top metallization in both configurations was investigated. The proposed configurations are designed on a high resistive silicon substrate (HRS) for L and S bands with resonating frequencies of 1.575 and 3.4 GHz. Both configurations have return loss that is better than 20 dB and an insertion loss of around 6 dB; isolation better than 30 dB was achieved for both models.

  • In this work, a broadband composite right/left-handed (CRLH) half-mode substrate integrated waveguide (HMSIW) quadrature Wilkinson power divider is proposed. The proposed CRLH-HMSIW quadrature power divider includes a microstrip Wilkinson power divider on the transition structure between the microstrip and HMSIW, and two thru transmission lines for the HMSIW and the CRLH-HMSIW. The measured amplitude, phase difference and isolation between the two output ports of the proposed structure have 1 dB, ${\pm}5^{\circ}$ and less than -15 dB in a wide frequency range of 4.1-6.68 GHz with 47.9% bandwidth, respectively.

  • This paper introduces a modified Wilkinson power divider that uses uniform transmission lines for various terminated impedances and an arbitrary power ratio. For the designed power ratio, the proposed divider changes only the electrical lengths of the transmission lines between the input and output ports, and those between the output ports and the isolation resistor. In this case, even when various termination impedances of the ports exist, the divider characteristics are satisfied. To verify the feasibility of the proposed divider, two circuits were designed to operate at a frequency of 2 GHz with 2:1 and 4:1 power splitting ratios and various terminated impedances of 40, 70, and $60{\Omega}$ for one circuit, and 50, 70, and $60{\Omega}$ for the other. The measurement and simulation results were in good agreement.

  • The wireless communication revolution has spawned a revival of interest in the design and optimization of radio transceivers. Radio transmit modules continue to shrink in die size and cost, requiring novel approaches for integration of the numerous passive elements of the radio front-end. A 3 dB Wilkinson power divider based on GaAs substrates, for DCS 1710-1880 MHz band was designed and fabricated showing excellent performance.

  • In this paper, we propose a new lumped Wilkinson power divider which is designed to have lower quality-factors in the impedance transformation. Therefore, it can provide wider bandwidth than the conventional one. Moreover, the proposed power divider consists of fewer number of elements so that the circuit size can be further reduced. Simulation results show that the proposed lumped power divider allows a 50% wider bandwidth in the return loss and isolation performance. The conventional and new Wilkinson power was designed and fabricated based on the derived equations at 2.0 GHz. In the measurement, the proposed divider achieved a good performance with an input return loss ($S_{11}$) of -23.0 dB, an isolation ($S_{23}$) of -29.0 dB and an insertion loss ($S_{21}$) of -3.12 dB at the design frequency with wider bandwidth than the conventional one.

  • In this paper, a 2~18 GHz wideband 6-port network is designed and fabricated to extend the measurement frequency bandwidth of noise parameter measurement method using 6-port network. In order to design a broadband 6-port network, a wilkinson power divider and a directional coupler with wideband characteristics are designed. The wilkinson power divider is designed as a three-section structure to achieve wideband characteristics. The direction coupler is designed as a three-section structure and slot-coupled structure using multi-layer substrate to obtain wideband characteristics. A wideband 6-port network is designed and fabricated combining the designed power divider and coupler. The measured results of the fabricated 6-port network for the 2~18 GHz band show characteristics applicable to the noise parameter measurement method.

  • This paper describes a size-reduced Wilkinson power divider using substrate integrated artificial dielectric(SIAD). SIAD transmission lines have increased effective refractive index, so the line width and length are reduced from those of standard transmission lines. Therefore the "size-reduction effect" is achieved if SIAD lines are applied to high frequency circuits. An efficient simulation method is proposed for SIAD lines which have an enormous number of via-holes. A 2GHz Wilkinson power divider is designed and measured using SIAD transmission line as an example of application. The size of the fabricated divider is reduced by 32% due to the increased effective refractive index of SIAD, while the performances are maintained similarly.
