A Study on Broad-Band Design of the Power Divider (신호분배기의 광대역 설계에 관한 연구)

  • This paper has dealt with the design and analysis methods of the frequency characteristics for the power dividers which are extensively used in CATV and DBS systems. Therefore, the lumped-element circuits have been implemented based on the Wilkinson power divider and the characteristics of the circuits approximated to ideal transformer examined. Then the frequency characteristics are analysised by using even ㆍodd-mode method. Furthermore, in order to improve the characteristics, the optimum design method by adding compensating circuit has been proposed and it has been shown that the characteristics are improved remarkably.

  • Add-Vision has developed a low-cost print technology for P-OLED displays on flexible substrates that meets several essentials for a new technology including: (1) Functionality including low DC voltage and wide color gamut; (2) Utilization of inexpensive tools; (3) Performance matching entry applications and markets. AVI's process is based on large-area printing of a combination of doped emissive and air-stable cathode inks utilizing truly low-cost tools to create printed P-OLEDs.

  • Nowadays, the research on the system integration using various technologies, like MCM-C, MCM-L and MCM-D. Especially, MCM-D technology is suitable for mmwave application due to its high resolution of patterning and thermal property similar to that of semiconductor devices. In this work, integrated passive devices like inductor, capacitor and resistor are evaluated on the GaAs substrate and their characteristics are examined. And finally, the Wilkinson power divider using lumped IPD are evaluated on GaAs substrate and it shows low insertion loss below 0.5 dB and the isolation over 15 dB.

  • The impact of plant genetic engineering, a technology born in the early 1980's, is beginning to be felt across the world in the 1990's. The first wave of engineered plant produce are reaching consumers in the supermarket and many more are destined to follow Transformation technology now exists for most plant, including the four staple crops-maize, wheat, rice, and soybean. Early targets of genetic engineering include plane possessing insect resistance and herbicide tolerance, with future goals set on increasing harvestable yield, improving nutritional quality, and making specialty products. This review describes some of the milestones in plant biotechnology, the U.S. regulatory agencies, field trial numbers and deregulated plants, commercialization criteria, examples of commercialized plants, and future prospects of plant biotechnology.

  • New design method of small-sized 3-dB $0^{\circ}/180^{\circ}$ ring hybrid and Wilkinson power divider using both lumped elements and distributed elements are presented. At the center frequency of 900 MHz 3-dB $0^{\circ}/180^{\circ}$ ring hybrid and Wikinson power divider are designed and tested. Good agreements are obtained between measured and theoretical modeling results, and at the same time the circuit area is reduced by more than 70% compared with the discributed-type circuits.

  • A study was conducted to determine the macromineral status of grazing cattle in three climatic regions of the province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Soil, forage, blood and rib bone samples were collected within the Western, Central and Eastern regions, respectively, in February-March and August-September of 1987. Calcium and magnesium were not deficient in soil samples. For forages, calcium and phosphorus were deficient for all regions and forage sodium was deficient except for the western region in the dry season. Crude protein was deficient during the dry season. The overall percentage of deficient plasma phosphorus samples was 17 or 23% for the wet and dry seasons, respectively. Based on these analyses, macrominerals most likely deficient in both seasons were phosphorus and calcium in all regions, in addition to sodium in the Central and Eastern regions.

  • Research was conducted to determine the micromineral status of grazing cattle in three climatic regions of the province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Soil, forage, blood and liver samples were collected within the Western, Central and Eastern regions in February-March and August-September of 1987. Forages were deficient in copper, selenium and zinc. Serum copper was deficient in all regions but zinc was deficient more in the dry season. Liver copper was deficient in all regions and both seasons except in the central region in the rainy season. Based on the analyses, microminerals most likely deficient in both the rainy and dry seasons for each region were as follows: Western-copper, selenium and zinc; Central-manganese and copper; Eastern-selenium, copper and zinc. Some degree of molybdenum excess was found in the Eastern region.

Korean NPIs amu-(N)-to and amu-(N)-rato

  • This paper reviews the analysis of the so-called Korean NPIs, amu-(N)-to and amu-(N)-rato, proposed by An (2007). An proposes that the two so-called polarity items are identical semantically, tantamount to English even, but they are in complementary distribution due to the opposite scope properties of the emphatic particles to and rato contained in the NPIs in question. Resorting to Karttunen and Peters' (1979) and Wilkinson's (1996) scope analysis of even, Lahiri's (1998) analysis of Hindi NPIs, and Guerzoni's (2002) analysis of the negative bias of yes/no-questions containing minimizers, An accounts for the distributional properties of the two Korean NPIs. Given this, however, it is observed that unlike amu-(N)-to, amu-(N)-rato could be licensed in much broader contexts. Based on this observation, this paper proposes that the two particles to and rato are two different particles with different meanings.
