  • 본 논문에서는 Wibe의 함수를 구성하는 변수를 임의로 바꾸면서 발생속도 및 지압선도의 형상, 그리고 기관운전조건 및 연소함수를 구성하는 제변수가 기관의 제성 능치에 대하여 미치는 영향을 수치실험을 통하여 조사하고, 그 상호관계를 정량적으로 밝혀 보았다.

  • In this study, a computer program has been developed which predicts the variation of the volumetric efficiency with the change of design of the intake system effectively by the analysis of the flow in each part of a multi-cylinder compression ignition engine. For the calculation of the flow in the intake and exhaust systems, the method of characteristics has been used, and the double Wiebe's function has been adopted for the calculation of the heat release rate in the cylinders. The accuracy of presented method has been proved through the comparison between the simulation and experimental results over the various engine speeds and intake pipe lengths.

  • The paper shows a solution by giving vegetable oil a chemical treatment, i.e., transesterification of the rapeseed oil without any modification of the diesel engine for reducing carbon deposits, and to evaluate rate of combustion with vegetable oils, their esterified fuel and their blend fuels using a double Wiebe's function approximation in a naturally aspired D.I. diesel engine. Since any oil will be as material for ester, if it is fatty acid, the sardine oil was considered. In the experiment, engine performance, exhaust gas emissions, and combustion characteristics were measured and calculated for a number of fuels: rapeseed oil, palm oil, ester of rapeseed oil, and these fuels blended with ethanol or diesel fuel.

A Study for Reduction of Combustion Noise in Diesel Engine by Wiebe's Combustion Function (Wiebe 燃燒函數에 의한 디이젤機關 의 燃燒騷音低減 에 관한 硏究)

  • This research is to find a means of reducing diesel engine combustion noise with none or minimum sacrifice of engine performance by investigating the influence of Cylinder Pressure Level(CPL). For this purpose, modified Wiebe's combustion function, considering the heat release curve as a combustion of both premixed and diffusive combustion portion, was exclusively used to obtain the indicator diagram and computer coeds were developed for the numerical analysis. Following are the results of this research. (1) CPL increases almostly with lag of ignition timing increasing .alpha. and decreasing. theta.$_{d}$, but at the crank angle with the maximal efficiency, CPL is independent of .alpha. and .theta.$_{d}$ with constant value of 200 dB especially at the low frequency. (2) For the constant ignition timing, the effects of .alpha. and .theta.$_{d}$ on CPL were the most significant at the frequency of about 1KHz and 300Hz respectively. (3) For the constant value of .alpha. and .theta.$_{d}$, CPL increases linearly with load but thermal efficiency increase very rapidly with maximum value of load Q$_{T}$=30-40 MJ/Kmol, then starts to decrease slowly. (4) The most effective way of reducing combustion noise without sacrificing thermal efficiency, is to decrease .alpha.. In the case of constant .alpha., there always exists a optimum value of .theta.$_{d}$ with respect to the various compression ratio.o..atio.o..

Prediction of NOx emission for marine gas engines (선박용 가스엔진의 NOx 배출량예측에 관한 연구)

  • Natural gas for marine diesel engine is considered as an important and clean source of energy because of simultaneously reducing the emission of NOx, SOx and GHG. Especially with a appearance of shale gas, the using of natural gas has been investigated aggressively and expected to expand rapidly. By the reports, gas engine and diesel engine were both in a similar performance in the power aspect, and the SFOC of gas engine was shown a little better than that of diesel engine. But the characteristics of exhaust gas emission were different according to various combustion technologies. And with lean burn technology, the emission of NOx could be reduced to 85% lower than that of diesel engine. In this paper, it was described that a simulation program has been developed to predict NOx emission. The developed program is adopted two-zone model and Wiebe function for combustion in cylinder. The effects of premixed and diffusive combustion could be simulated by using the excess air ratio as input data. And it was confirmed that the results of simulation were agreed with the general trends of exhaust gas emission according to various combustion conditions such as lean burn, premixed and diffusive combustion.
