In order to investigate the emission characteristics of the phosphorescent white organic light-emitting diodes (PHWOLEDs) according to various hole transport layers (HTLs), PHWOLEDs composed of HTLs whose structure are NPB/TCTA, NPB/mCP and NPB/TCTA/mCP, two emissive layers (EMLs) which emit two-wavelengths of light (blue and red), and electron transport layer were fabricated. The applied voltage, power efficiency, and external quantum efficiency at a current density of $1 mA/cm^2$ for the fabricated PHWOLEDs were 7.5 V, 11.5 lm/W, and 15%, in case of NPB/mCP, 5 V, 14.8 lm/W, and 13.7%, in case of NPB/TCTA, and 5.5 V, 14.6 lm/W, and 15%, in case of NPB/TCTA/mCP in the hole transport layer, respectively. High emission efficiency can be obtained when the amount of hole injection from anode is balanced out by the amount of electron injection from the cathode to EML by using NPB/TCTA/mCP structured HTL.
This paper proposes a novel active stereo matching technique using white auxiliary stripe pattern. The conventional active stereo matching techniques that uses two cameras and an active source such as projector can accurately estimate disparity information even in the areas with low texture compared to the passive ones. However, it is difficult that the conventional active stereo matching techniques using color code patterns acquire these patterns robustly if the object is composed of various colors or is exposed to complex lighting condition. To overcome this problem, the proposed method uses an additional white auxiliary stripe pattern to get and localize the color code patterns robustly. This paper proposes a process based on adaptive thresholding and thinning to obtain the auxiliary pattern accurately. Experimental results show that the proposed method more precisely measures the stepped sample whose depth is known in advance than the conventional method.
So many groups have been researching the green quantum dots such as InP, InP/ZnS for overcoming the semiconductor nanoparticles composed with heavy metals like as Cd and Pb so on. In spite of much effort to keep up CdSe quantum dots, it does not reach the good properties compared with CdSe/ZnS quantum dots. This quantum dot has improved its properties through the generation of core/shell CdSe/ZnS structure or core/multi-shell structures like as CdSe/CdS/ZnS and CdSe/CdS/ CdZnS/ZnS. In this research, we try to synthesize the InP multi-shell structure by the successiveion layer absorption reaction (SILAR) in the one pot. The synthesized multi-shell structure has improved quantum yield and photo-stability. To generate white light, highly luminescent InP multi-shell quantum dots were mixed with yellow phosphor and integrated on the blue LED chip. This InP multi-shell improved red region of the LEDs and generated high CRI.
In this talk, I will introduce two topics. The first topic is the polymer light emitting diodes (PLEDs) using graphene oxide quantum dots as emissive center. More specifically, the energy transfer mechanism as well as the origin of white electroluminescence in the PLED were investigated. The second topic is the facile synthesis of eco-friendly III-V colloidal quantum dots and their application to light emitting diodes. Polymer (organic) light emitting diodes (PLEDs) using quantum dots (QDs) as emissive materials have received much attention as promising components for next-generation displays. Despite their outstanding properties, toxic and hazardous nature of QDs is a serious impediment to their use in future eco-friendly opto-electronic device applications. Owing to the desires to develop new types of nanomaterial without health and environmental effects but with strong opto-electrical properties similar to QDs, graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have attracted great interest as promising luminophores. However, the origin of electroluminescence (EL) from GQDs incorporated PLEDs is unclear. Herein, we synthesized graphene oxide quantum dots (GOQDs) using a modified hydrothermal deoxidization method and characterized the PLED performance using GOQDs blended poly(N-vinyl carbazole) (PVK) as emissive layer. Simple device structure was used to reveal the origin of EL by excluding the contribution of and contamination from other layers. The energy transfer and interaction between the PVK host and GOQDs guest were investigated using steady-state PL, time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Experiments revealed that white EL emission from the PLED originated from the hybridized GOQD-PVK complex emission with the contributions from the individual GOQDs and PVK emissions. (Sci Rep., 5, 11032, 2015). New III-V colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) were synthesized using the hot-injection method and the QD-light emitting diodes (QLEDs) using these CQDs as emissive layer were demonstrated for the first time. The band gaps of the III-V CQDs were varied by varying the metal fraction and by particle size control. The X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) results show that the crystal states of the III-V CQDs consist of multi-phase states; multi-peak photoluminescence (PL) resulted from these multi-phase states. Inverted structured QLED shows green EL emission and a maximum luminance of ~45 cd/m2. This result shows that III-V CQDs can be a good substitute for conventional cadmium-containing CQDs in various opto-electronic applications, e.g., eco-friendly displays. (Un-published results).
To improve the efficiency of a reverse engineering process, many researches have recently tried to develop efficient, automatic 3D scanning devices. A new automatic 3D scanning device using a spherical coordinate system mechanism is introduced in this study. This device incorporates a guide motion along the spherical coordinate to compound each 3D data point automatically. The experiments correlating the system assembling tolerance with the form accuracy were conducted to verify the efficiency of the system for the scanning of an object, including complex shapes and manifold sections. In addition, the required time and system accuracy, taken during the scanning process of complicated artifact models, were investigated. Further, based on these empirical results, it was ascertained that the superior productivity of this new device offers a more precise and efficient scan when compared to conventional methodologies.
[ $II-III_2-(S,Se)_4$ ] structured of phosphor has been used at various field because those have high luminescent efficiency and broad emission band. Among these phosphors, the europium doped $BaGa_2S_4$ was prepared by solid-state method and had high potential application due to an emissive property of UV region. Also, the common sulfide phosphors were synthesized by using injurious $H_2S\;or\;CS_2$ gas. However, in this study $BaGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor in addition to excess sulfur was prepared under at 5% $H_2/95%\;N_2$ reduction atmosphere. Thus, this process could be considered as large scale synthesis because of non-harmfulness and simplification. The photoluminescence efficiency of the prepared $BaGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor increased 20% than that of commercial $SrGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ phosphor. The prepared $BaGa_2S_4:Eu^{2+}$ could be applied to green phosphor for white LED of three wavelengths.
