The term of Japonisme is the concept that does not refer to one style but to the taste for Japanese painting, craft, fashion and the like in Europe proved as the historical phenomenon through Japanese works. That is, it means every Japanese disposition including all artistic techniques and contents relating to Japanese tastes in Europe. Fashion of dress as Japanese expressed in European painting works not only symbolizes the 'modernity' expressive of the aspiration and nostalgia for Japan but presents the Japan of exotic taste as the inquisitive object of sexual interest. And the expressive method of the peculiar the beauty of the body was described in Japanese painting works because of the fashion characteristics that the frontal side of Japanese clothing was presented in a more decorative and formative way than its reverse side due to decorative design and belts. It is hard to find the geographical research on Korea-born adoptees in Europe. This research analyzed spatial distribution of Korea-born adoptees in Europe where adopted the largest number of Koreans after the United States. Since 1956 when Korea-born children were first adopted in Norway, the number of adoptees had increased rapidly until 1978. In the early 1970s, Korean children had adopted more in Europe than the Unites States. Even though the number of intercountry adoptees temporarily decreased after the Seoul Olympic in 1988, Korean children have been still adopted at a settled numbers. In the beginning period (1956$\sim$70) of adoption in Europe, the Korean war orphans and abandoned children were adopted by Sweden, Norway and Belgium. In the second period (1971$\sim$90), the number of Korean adoptees were social orphans as a result of rapid industrialization. The number of adoptees increased rapidly and their destination extended into ten countries including the Western Europe such as France, Germany, Italy and United Kingdom. In the third period after 1991, the adoptees were mainly from unmarried mothers. The number of adoptees decreased as the result of that the Korean government attempted to reduce the intercountry adoption and to increase the domestic adoption. Their destination reduced into Northern European countries, France and Luxemburg. Those countries kept adopting settled number of Korean children. Female Korean adoptees used to outnumber male Korean adoptees; however the sex ratio was reversed recently. The age of adoptees became to lower, so most of Korea-born adoptees were under one-year old.

  • Global status of aquaculture and aquaculture scientific journals is briefly described. Asia is the centre of fishing and aquaculture activities but most publishers, editors and editorial board members of fisheries and aquaculture journals are from Europe and/or USA. The contribution by Asian fisheries/aquaculture scientists to these journals remains low. Language barrier and requirement for monitory investment seem to inhibit Asian participation in this realm of scientific activity. The need for glob-alization of aquaculture scientific journals is emphasized. Selected strategies, which are adopted by the Western journals to improve their image and management, are indicated.

  • This study was conducted to identify the differences in service quality between Incheon and Kimpo international airports and critical factors influencing satisfaction of their customers. According to the results of the study, all service quality factors of Incheon international airport except the service factor of geographical location were better than those of Kimpo international airport. However, all service quality factors of the two airports were evaluated inferior to those of American, western European and Japanese international airports. In addition the service quality factors such as response, safety, airport facility and geographical location were found as critical factors influencing satisfaction of the airport customers. The service quality factor of geographical location of Incheon international airport was measured much inferior comparing with other service quality factors. Thus, the results of this study suggest that the Korean government deliberate and benchmark the international airports of western Europe and the USA in determining the geographical location when planning new international airports.
