무아래 패턴을 이용한 깨달음과 생산적 창의성 신장 프로그램 개발과 적용 (Development and Application about Program for Enlightened and Productive Creativity by Using Moire Pattern)

  • 물리교육에서의 창의성에 대한 서양적 중심 사상인 생산성과 동양적 중심 사상인 깨달음을 조합하여 무아래 무늬를 이용한 창의성 신장 과학탐구 프로그램(PEPC)을 개발하였다. 무아래 무늬를 활용한 PEPC(Program for Enlightened and Productive Creativity)는 5단계 나선형 과학탐구과정으로 구성되어 있고, 각 단계마다 창의성을 신장시킬 수 있는 기본 요소를 제시하였다. 그리고 이 프로그램을 과학영재, 물리교사, 일반학생들에게 적용한 결과 과학영재반 학생들이 확장성과 직관력에서 일반학생들보다 높게 나타났다. 특히 직관력과 종합성은 교사반이 과학영재반 학생들보다도 낮게 나타났다. 그리고 창의성의 10개 요소 중 분석력은 모든 집단에서 낮게 나타났다.

근동지역의 복식연구 II -오스만 터어키(Osman Turkey)복식을 중심으로- (A Study on the Near East Costume (II) -Osman Turkey Costume-)

  • This result of the study on the costume of Osman Turkey are as following. 1. Empire of Osman Turkey(129∼1922) exerted an almost limites impact and influence on Europe and Asia during their regime 600 years. The distant ancestors of the Osman Turks were nomadic peoples, who wandered I tribal groups through the Central Asia. Therefore their costumes were based on nomadic culture. They had trade with West and East were influenced by Hellenism and Byzantium and grew, to a strong Islamic political power polygamy with which influence their clothing along with other culture. 2. Topkapi Saray was one of he principal residences of the Osman sultans and his court. Late 17 century, Topkapi Saray found many of kaftans of Osman Turks Empires of 14∼17 centuries. Otherwise we studied by the minatures of 16∼17 centuries, Since the Topkapi Saray became a museum in 1924, a program of careful restoration has made it possible to some pars of it to the public, after centuries neglection. 3. Osman Turkey Empire had important role in between West and East(silk-road). Economic, commercial, social and political factor of Turkey led to a development in the art of weaving (kema, kadife, catman, seraser, zerbeft, hatayi, kntnu, atlas)parallel to the rise and development of the Osman Turkey Empire itself, one which raised the art to a level attained nowwhere else in the world. Fabrics woven from gold and silver thread occupied a very important place in the court life of the time. This was due as much to their symbolic as to their material value, reflecting as they did the power, glory and magnificence of the Empire. 4. In order to study Eastern or Western history of costume one must study Turkey history of costume in advance. Also there is a great need of comparison to study of western, central and north eastern area history of costume.

기상청 계절예측시스템(GloSea5)의 해양성층 강화시기 단기 해양예측 정확도 및 대기-해양 접합효과 (Accuracy of Short-Term Ocean Prediction and the Effect of Atmosphere-Ocean Coupling on KMA Global Seasonal Forecast System (GloSea5) During the Development of Ocean Stratification)

  • This study investigates the accuracy of short-term ocean predictions during the development of ocean stratification for the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) Global Seasonal Forecast System version 5 (GloSea5) as well as the effect of atmosphere-ocean coupling on the predictions through a series of sensitive numerical experiments. Model performance is evaluated using the marine meteorological buoys at seas around the Korean peninsular (KP), Tropical Atmosphere Ocean project (TAO) buoys over the tropical Pacific ocean, and ARGO floats data over the western North Pacific for boreal winter (February) and spring (May). Sensitive experiments are conducted using an ocean-atmosphere coupled model (i.e., GloSea5) and an uncoupled ocean model (Nucleus for European Modelling of the Ocean, NEMO) and their results are compared. The verification results revealed an overall good performance for the SST predictions over the tropical Pacific ocean and near the Korean marginal seas, in which the Root Mean Square Errors (RMSE) were $0.31{\sim}0.45^{\circ}C$ and $0.74{\sim}1.11^{\circ}C$ respectively, except oceanic front regions with large spatial and temporal SST variations (the maximum error reached up to $3^{\circ}C$). The sensitive numerical experiments showed that GloSea5 outperformed NEMO over the tropical Pacific in terms of bias and RMSE analysis, while NEMO outperformed GloSea5 near the KP regions. These results suggest that the atmosphere-ocean coupling substantially influences the short-term ocean forecast over the tropical Pacific, while other factors such as atmospheric forcing and the accuracy of simulated local current are more important than the coupling effect for the KP regions being far from tropics during the development of ocean stratification.

  • To solve environmental problems, research and efforts are required to reduce leather waste that is generated in large quantities during the leather manufacturing process. Leatherboard is a plate-like material that is made by crushing leather waste, such as trimming or shaving scraps and mixing fibers, pulp, rubber, and adhesives. The aim of this study is to provide basic data on the localization of leatherboard manufacturing technology for outsoles, which are increasingly in demand due to their excellent performance and price competitiveness. Interviews with experts and related organizations were conducted to investigate the related global technology trends. Also, the performance of three products that can be used as reference materials were evaluated and compared. As part of the research and efforts to reduce the amount of leather waste generated, high-performance materials using leather waste were developed and commercialized by major western companies. In Korea, various efforts have been made since 2000, and some companies have produced leatherboard for interior uses. However, the amount of waste recycled relative to that generated is not large due to the limited demand. Natural leather soles perform better than leatherboard soles in all evaluation aspects. In the case of leatherboard, performance varied by manufacturer. German products showed flexibility resistance and dimensional stability, thereby meeting performance requirements. However, abrasion resistance and cleavage resistance were slightly below the required performance standards, and research and development is needed to improve performance in those areas. Currently, it is impossible to evaluate the performance of domestic products due to underdevelopment. However, if the development of process technology continues based on the performance evaluation results of the best leatherboard in the shoe industry, materials for outsoles will be able to be produced domestically with prices competitiveness while realizing natural leather materials performance to some extent.

Long-term flexural cracking control of reinforced self-compacting concrete one way slabs with and without fibres

  • In this study experimental result of a total of eight SCC and FRSCC slabs with the same cross-section were monitored for up to 240 days to measure the time-dependent development of cracking and deformations under service loads are presented. For this purpose, four SCC mixes are considered in the test program. This study aimed to compare SCC and FRSCC experimental results with conventional concrete experimental results. The steel strains within the high moment regions, the concrete surface strains at the tensile steel level, deflection at the mid-span, crack widths and crack spacing were recorded throughout the testing period. Experimental results show that hybrid fibre reinforced SCC slabs demonstrated minimum instantaneous and time-dependent crack widths and steel fibre reinforced SCC slabs presented minimum final deflection.

  • Using WindPRO that was software for windfarm design developed by EMD from Denmark, wind resources for the western Jeju island were analyzed, and the performance of WindPRO prediction was evaluated in detail. The Hansu site and the Yongdang site that were located in coastal region were selected, and wind data for one year at the two sites were analyzed using WindPRO. As a result, the relative error of the Prediction for annual energy Production and capacity factor was about ${\pm}20%$. For evaluating wind energy more accurately, it is necessary to obtain lots of wind data and real electric power production data from real windfarm.

  • 오늘날 문명의 특징은 서구문명에 뿌리를 둔 기술(공학)과 과학이다. 일본은 이 분야에 있어 20세기 이후 다른 동양 국가에 비하여 줄곧 우위에 서있었으며 1930년대가 되면 서구와 거의 동등한 수준에 닿게된다. 일찍이 16세기 중반에 도입된 화승총은 일본에 있어 본격적인 서구 기술의 도입을 뜻한다. 이후 일본은 비록 제한된 범위에서였지만 서구와의 지속적인 교류를 유지했고, 이런 측면에서 19세기 중반의 메이지유신과 본격적인 근대화는 이 모든 과정의 자연스러운 연속으로 인식될 수 있다. 현대 일본이 과학, 기술, 산업부문의 업적을 이룩할 수 있었던 기원은 무엇이었는가는 우리에게 지속적인 관심사가 될 것이다.

HPV and Cervical Cancer Epidemiology - Current Status of HPV Vaccination in India

  • Cervical cancer (CaCx) is the second most fatal cancer contributing to 14% of cancers in Indian females, which account for 25.4% and 26.5% of the global burden of CaCx prevalence and mortality, respectively. Persistent infection with high-risk human papilloma virus (HPV- strains 16 and 18) is the most important risk factor for precursors of invasive CaCx. Comprehensive prevention strategies for CaCx should include screening and HPV vaccination. Three screening modalities for CaCx are cytology, visual inspection with acetic acid, and HPV testing. There is no Indian national policy on CaCx prevention, and screening of asymptomatic females against CaCx is practically non-existent. HPV vaccines can make a major breakthrough in the control of CaCx in India which has high disease load and no organized screening program. Despite the Indian Government's effort to introduce HPV vaccination in the National Immunization Program and bring down vaccine cost, challenges to implementing vaccination in India are strong such as: inadequate epidemiological evidence for disease prioritization, duration of vaccine use, parental attitudes, and vaccine acceptance. This paper reviews the current epidemiology of CaCx and HPV in India, and the current status of HPV vaccination in the country. This article stresses the need for more research in the Indian context, to evaluate interventions for CaCx and assess their applicability, success, scalability and sustainability within the constraints of the Indian health care system.

진해만 서부 용남·광도해역의 세균학적 수질에 미치는 육상 오염원의 영향 (Impact of Pollution Sources on the Bacteriological Water Quality in the Yongnam-Gwangdo Shellfish Growing Area of Western Jinhae Bay, Korea)

  • To evaluate the bacteriological water quality in Yongnam-Gwangdo, located in western Jinhae Bay, seawater samples were analyzed using sanitary indicator bacteria at 57 sampling stations. According to survey results from January 2007 to December 2009, the range of the geometric mean and the estimated 90th percentile for coliforms and fecal coliforms in the samples were <1.8-16.5 and 1.8-246.8 MPN/100 mL and <1.8-7.1 and 1.8-74.8 MPN/100 mL, respectively. The samples, including those taken from stations located in Wonmunman, Gwangdo, and Dangdong, showed high levels of microbial contamination caused by the climate and weather patterns in the marine environment. The bacteriological water quality in the area met Korean criteria for a designated shellfish growing area for export and National Shellfish Sanitation Program criteria for an approved shellfish growing area, except at station #49. A total of 24 direct pollution sources were discharged into the shellfish growing area. The radius of impact was calculated for each pollution source to assess the effect on the shellfish growing area. The calculated radius of impact for most of the pollution sources was below 300 m. However, the radius of impact for the combined pollution sources in Kyeonnaeryang was 93-1973 m. There were significant differences between the calculated closed sea area and actual monitoring results. The closed sea area values calculated from the fecal coliform load in drainage water tended to be higher than the actual monitoring results. Tidal currents and environmental factors such as salinity, water temperature, sunlight, and microbiological factors affect the survival of fecal indicator bacteria in seawater.

옥수수 (Zea mays) 뿌리의 알데히드 산화효소와 생장에 미치는 텅스텐산 나트륨의 영향 (The Effect of Sodium Tungstate on the Aldehyde Oxidase and the Growth in the Primary Root of Maize (Zea mays))

  • 몰리브덴 보조인자 형성을 방해하는 텅스텐산 나트륨이 옥수수 뿌리에서 알데히드 산화효소의 활성과 생장에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 다른 식물에서 보고된 바와 같이 옥수수 뿌리에서도 텅스텐산 나트륨은 그 농도가 증가됨에 따라 알데히드 산화효소의 활성을 억제하였는데, 억제 활성은 식물체에 직접 처리한 경우에만 나타나고 추출된 효소에 처리하였을 때에는 효과가 없었다. 텅스텐산은 알데히드 산화효소의 활성화를 억제하는 물질임에도 불구하고, Western분석에 의하면 알데히드 산화효소 단백질의 함량을 감소시키는 것으로 나타나 반응산물이 효소함량을 증가시키는 양성 되먹임 조절관계를 나타내었다. 텅스텐산 나트륨은 효소활성을 억제하는 농도에서 옥수수 원뿌리의 생장과 곁뿌리발생을 억제하였지만 굴중성 반응에는 영향이 없었다. 전자의 두 반응은 옥신 절대함량에 의존하고 후자는 상대량에 의존하므로 텅스텐산 나트륨에 의한 옥신 함량 변화로 관찰된 결과들의 설명이 가능할 것으로 사료되었다. 그러나 뿌리의free IAA의 함량 변화는 검출되지 않았다. 옥신 함량 조절에는 강력한 항상성 기작이 관여하므로 IAA conjugate분해와 nitrilase에 의한 생합성 증가 등 결과 설명에 적용 가능한 내용들을 논의하였다.
