This paper analyzes the switching overvoltage occurred on 345kV underground power cable system as well as combined transmission system using EMTP. Cable length and closing time, preinsertion resistance have effect on switching overvoltage. Therefore, this paper analyzes the switching overvoltage occurred on conductor and sheath with change of those parameters. Specially, the cross bonding position becomes discontinuity point because of the difference between surge impedance of metal sheath and that of lead cable. Thus, the transmission and the reflection of traveling wave complexly occur at this connection point. According to these influences, voltage between sheath and earth as well as voltage between joint boxes rise. Time to crest point of switching overvoltage is longer than lightning overvoltage. Even though the voltage induced by switching surge is smaller than lightning surge, that voltage may have serious effect on the metal sheath. Therefore, this paper also analyses the reduction effect of switching overvoltage when the preinsertion resistance of circuit breaker is considered.

The article is written with a view to introducing the new idea of an F-contraction on a closed ball and have new ${\acute{C}}iri{\acute{c}}$ type fixed point theorems in the framework of a complete metric space. That is why this outcome becomes useful for the contraction of the mapping on a closed ball instead of the whole space. At the same time, some comparative examples are constructed which establish the superiority of our results. It can be stated that the results that have come into being give proof of extension as well as substantial generalizations and improvements of several well known results in the existing comparable literature.

Romania aims to adopt and implement the European Union's legislation, also including that for the field of water management. Like other countries, groundwater in Romania is locally polluted from point sources, such as leaking landfills, as well as from diffuse pollution sources, include fertilizers, pesticides and leakages from sewers, in urbanized areas. Diffuse pollution can also occur indirectly, by over-exploitation of groundwater wells, resulting in salt water intrusion, as well as from mining and exploitation of mineral aggregates. Romania has quite an intensive monitoring scheme to measure groundwater quality in phreatic and confined aquifers. The purpose of the work resumed in this paper was to derive natural background levels (NBL) for groundwater in order to distinguish the natural elevated concentrations of some substances (natural phenomena) from point and diffuse pollution (anthropogenic phenomena). Based on these NBLs, threshold values (TV) for groundwater will be set according to the requirements of the European Water Framework Directive and the related Groundwater Directive. This paper describes the results of a study for the derivation of NBL and TV in a pilot Groundwater Body. Also, the process and draft results for extrapolating this work for all Romanian groundwater bodies is explained, as well as points for future consideration with respect to monitoring and management.

We establish fixed point and multidimensional fixed point results satisfying generalized (𝜓, 𝜃, 𝜑)-contraction on partially ordered non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces. By using this result we obtain the solution for periodic boundary value problems and give an example to show the degree of validity of our hypothesis. Our results generalize, extend and modify several well-known results in the literature.

Satellite communication systems will play an important role in establishing high-speed information communication network ddue to the characteristics of flexibility of bandwidth, mobile communication, wide coverage, multipoint and broadcasting. Also satellite systems have the capability to supply terrestrial B-ISDN with flexible links for accessing networks as well as trunking networks. Therefore, satellites must provide compatibility to earth-based B-ISDN signalling interface, services and network capability. This paper proposed interworking model between terrestrial B-ISDN and satellite B-ISDN signalling protocol and illustrated basic call-process procedure of satellite B-ISDN signalling protocol supporting point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connection.

The purpose of this paper is to establish some coupled coincidence point theorems for a pair of mappings having a strict mixed g-monotone property satisfying a contractive condition of rational type in the framework of partially ordered metric spaces. Also, we present a result on the existence and uniqueness of coupled common fixed points. The results presented in the paper generalize and extend several well-known results in the literature.

This paper presents a simple algorithm to obtain three dimensional information of an object. In the preprocessing of the stereo matching,feature point informations of stero image must be less sensitive to noise and well liked the correspondance problem. This paper described a simple technique of struture feature extraction of 3-D object and used edge-end point expanding method for unconnected line instade of Hough transform. The feature such as corner point and their angles are used for matching problem. The experimental results show that the described algorithm is a useful method for stereo correspondence problem.

We study the existence of positive solutions of second order nonlinear separated boundary value problems of superlinear as well as sublinear type without imposing monotonicity restrictions on the problem. The type of problem investigated cannot be analyzed using the linearization about the trivial solution because either it does not exist (the sublinear case) or is trivial (the superlinear case). The results follow from a known fixed point theorem by noticing that the concavity of the solutions provides an important condition for the applicability of the fixed point result.

An electric field induced by a point dipole soruce within a conductor-backed lossy dielectric slab above the earth is calculated by anumerical method. the calcualtion is peformed on the plane which is parallel to the conductor plane and containing the point dipole soruce. Computed S$_{21}$ values of two parallel planar dipole antennas and two collinear planar dipole antennas are compared against each other, as well as the electic field magnitudes in those arrangements.

The object of this paper is to introduce the concept of a pair of semi-compatible self-maps in a fuzzy metric space to establish a fixed point theorem for four self-maps. It offers an extension of Vasuki [10] to four self-maps under the assumption of semi-compatibility and compatibility, repsectively. At the same time, these results give the alternate results of Grebiec [5] and Vasuki [9] as well.
