아동과 청소년의 공격성과 외로움간의 관계에 대한 생활만족도의 매개효과 (The Mediation Effect of Life Satisfaction Between Aggression and Loneliness in Children and Adolescents)

  • This study examined the mediation effect of life satisfaction between aggression and loneliness. The subjects were two hundred and eighty fifth-year elementary school and second-year middle school adolescents in Seoul. Data were analyzed by using the t-test, Pearson's correlation and regression. Major findings were as follows: First, when it comes to aggressiveness, the fifth graders showed a significantly higher degree of personal attack, whereas the eighth graders were found to show more expression of anger. The fifth graders scored higher than the eighth graders in each subcategory of life satisfaction. No significant difference was found in the category of loneliness. Second, the fifth graders showed a positive relationship among verbal attack, personal attach, expression of anger and loneliness, whereas the eighth graders showed a positive relationship between expression of anger and loneliness. The two age groups, in turn, also exhibited some differences in the relationship between loneliness and life satisfaction. Third, we found that life satisfaction is a complete parameter between aggressiveness and loneliness in the fifth graders. In the case of the eighth graders, life satisfaction turned out to be a partial parameter between aggressiveness and loneliness. This perhaps indicates that adolescents with similar levels of aggressiveness might show different degrees of loneliness, depending on whether they have positive attitudes toward their lives and whether they feel satisfied with their lives.

결혼이주여성의 문화적응유형과 영향요인 (Predictors of Acculturation Types among Marriage Migrant Women)

  • This study aimed to identify predictors of acculturation types among marriage migrant women at the individual and dominant society levels. To accomplish this goal, we recruited marriage migrant women from China and Vietnam, classified their acculturation types according to their scores on acculturation attitudes, and performed multinomial logistic regression on acculturation types by entering marriage migrant women's individual and dominant society level factors as covariates based on previous research. The results showed that most of the participants were classified under integration(N=376), followed by assimilation(N=66), separation(N=60) and marginalization(N=48). Lower household income, lower sense of mastery, weaker ethnic identity and lower social support predicted assimilation as compared to integration. Less education, higher household income, weaker ethnic identity, lower family satisfaction and lower social support predicted separation as compared to integration. Finally, as compared to integration, marginalization was predicted by lower sense of mastery, lower ethnic identity and lower social support. This study expands the current scholarship on acculturation by examining acculturation as an indicator of the psychosocial adaptation of immigrants and by identifying factors that predict specific acculturation types among marriage migrant women.

최고 간호관리자의 역할적응과정 (The Role Adaptation Process of The Executive Director of Nursing Department)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the role adaptation process experienced by executive directors of nursing department of general hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from 9 executive nursing directors though in-depth interviews about their experiences. The main question was "How do you describe your experience of the process of role adaptation as an executive nursing director?" Qualitative data from field and transcribed notes were analyzed using Strauss & Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Results: The core category of experience of the process of role adaptation as an executive nursing director was identified as "entering the center with pushing and pulling". The participants used five interactional strategies; 'maintaining modest attitudes', 'inquiring about trends of popular feeling', 'making each person a faithful follower', 'collecting & displaying power', 'leading with initiative'. The consequences of role adaptation in executive nursing directors were 'coexisting with others', 'immersing in one's new role with dedication', and 'having capacity for high tolerance'. The types of role adaptations of executive directors in nursing department were friendly type, propulsive type, accommodating type. Conclusion: The results of this study produced useful information for executive nursing directors on designing a self-managerial program to enhance role adaptation based on interactional strategies.

Influence of Physical Therapist and Work Environment on Evidence-Based Practice in South Korea

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify the practitioner and organizational characteristics that either detracted from or encouraged the use of evidence-based practice (EBP) by physical therapists. Design: A cross-sectional survey study Methods: Participants were 260 physical therapists currently practicing in South Korea. They completed a questionnaire designed to determine attitudes, beliefs, interest, self-efficacy and barriers to EBP, as well as demographic information about themselves and their practice settings. Logistic regression was used to examine relationships between socio-demographic and work environment characteristics and each practitioner factor. Results: Respondents agreed that the use of evidence in practice was necessary. Although 80% of them agreed that research findings are useful, 71% felt that a divide exists between research and practice. In terms of confidence in their skills, the ability to interpret results of statistical procedures ranked lowest. Despite internet access at work for 63% of respondents, only 14% were given protected work time to search and appraise the literature. Only 2% of respondents stated that their organization had a written requirement to use current evidence in their practice. The primary barrier to implementing EBP was a reported lack of time. Conclusions: In conclusion, most physical therapists stated they had a positive attitude toward EBP and were interested in learning or improving the skills necessary for implementation. Most recognized a need to increase the use of evidence in their daily practice, but a lack of ability to understand the results of research represents a significant barrier to implementing EBP.

수술환자의 통증자가조절기 관리교육 효과 (Effect of Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) Education for Postoperative Patients)

  • Purpose: The study examined the effects of preoperative patient controlled analgesia (PCA) education on postoperative pain, knowledge of PCA, and attitude toward pain medication. Methods: The participants were patients who underwent surgery in H University Hospital,and were assigned to PCA group (experiment group, n=30) or the control group (n=30). Results: Knowledge of PCA and positive attitude toward pain medication were higher in the experiment group than in the control group. Postoperative pain scores in the experiment group were significantly lower than those in the control group at 48 and 72 hr after surgery, but there was no significant difference at 24 hr after surgery. The experiment group had more positive attitudes on the medication than the control group. Conclusions: Preoperative PCA education could be an effective nursing intervention for pain management of patients after surgery.

The Ethical Obligations of Humankind towards Animals and Its Implications for Korean Religions: Focusing on Korean Buddhism and Daesoon Thought

  • This study presents and examines various ethical theories that could offer potential solutions to the issue of discrimination against non-human animals in contemporary society, and traces its implications for Korean religions. The article focuses on two normative ethical theories - virtue ethics and the ethics of care - and through an analysis of existing research, argues that both theories may serve as foundational principles guiding our behavior, not only in our interactions with other humans but also in our treatment of non-human animals. Furthermore, the examples presented in this study demonstrate that similar ethical theories have already been adopted as frameworks for human behavior towards other living beings within two religious traditions, Buddhism and Daesoon Jinrihoe. In both belief systems, animals are acknowledged as integral components of the world in which we live. Additionally, both religions endorse the idea that the well-being of non-human animals and our attitudes toward them can also have a direct impact on our present lives, as well as on our future existence. Consequently, promoting morally upright conduct towards other living creatures should be viewed as a necessary measure, beneficial not only for the animals themselves but also for the collective well-being of humanity.

Evaluation of a child abuse prevention program for unmarried mothers in South Korea: a single-case experimental design

  • Purpose: This study aimed to implement a child abuse prevention program and evaluate its effectiveness based on the Nursing Model of Resilience and Coping Skills Training Model for unmarried mothers during pregnancy and puerperium. Methods: This study had a prospective single-case, AB design with four repeated self-questionnaire measures and three observational measures. Seven unmarried mothers were provided with 10 sessions child abuse prevention program through individual visits from 32 to 34 weeks of pregnancy to six weeks after childbirth. The questionnaire was composed related to resilience, maternal stress, maternal attitude, parent-child interaction, child abuse potential. The observation was measured by video recording (total 16 times) the interaction of parent-child during feeding and analyzing it by three experts. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon signed-rank test and Friedman's test. Results: Maternal attitude and parent-child interaction were statistically significantly improved after intervention compared to before intervention. However, maternal stress decreased after intervention compared to before intervention, but it was not statistically significant. Additionally, resilience and child abuse potential were not statistically significant. This program is partially effective in preventing child abuse by promoting parenting attitudes and parent-child interactions. Conclusion: This study focused on individual resilience and applied systematic intervention as coping skills training to prevent child abuse. This study is meaningful in that interventions were conducted through individual visits to unmarried mothers at high risk of child abuse, and the program was applied, including pregnancy and postpartum periods, to prevent child abuse early.

사회복지사의 경력몰입 결정요인 및 직무태도에 미치는 효과 (The Determinants of Social Workers' Career Commitment and the Effects of Career Commitment on Job Attitude)

  • 본 연구는 사회복지사의 사회복지전문직에 대한 경력몰입 결정요인을 살펴보고, 사회복지조직별 경력몰입 수준과 차이를 비교하며 경력몰입이 직무태도에 미치는 효과를 분석하고자 실시되었다. 조사는 부산 경남의 사회복지전담공무원과 사회복지관 및 생활시설에 근무하는 사회복지사를 대상으로 구조화된 설문조사를 실시하여 326명의 자료를 이용하였고, 자료는 SPSS를 사용하여 직무특성모형과 경력특성모형, 역할특성모형, 조직공정성모형 그리고 종합모형으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 사회복지전문직에 대한 사회복지사의 경력몰입은 비교적 높은 수준으로 나타났고, 다만 상대적으로 전담공무원이 낮았다. 개인적 요인으로는 여성보다 남성이, 연령대가 높을수록, 1급보다는 2급이, 대졸보다는 고졸이 높게 나타났다. 경력몰입 결정요인을 분석한 결과 직무가 중요하고 완결된 과업정체성을 갖고 적절한 피드백을 받을수록, 그리고 사회복지직 경력을 만족하고 역할갈등이 적고 분배공정성과 상호작용공정성이 높을수록 경력몰입하고, 오히려 다양한 실천기술을 활용하는 직무일수록 부정적으로 나타났다. 다만 결정요인은 사회복지조직별로 다소 차이가 있었다. 사회복지전문직에 대한 경력몰입은 경력변경의도에 높은 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 반면에 조직몰입과 조직시민행동, 직무몰입 그리고 내재적 직무만족에는 모두 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 경력몰입 증진을 위한 조직별 차별화된 접근과 체계적 대책이 요구된다 할 것이다.

그린캠프 청소년 참가자의 숲체험 참여동기에 따른 정서적 변화 (The Emotional Changes of the Green Camp Adolescent Participants According to Participative Motivation of Forest Activities)

  • 본 연구는 숲체험 캠프인 '그린캠프'에 참가한 청소년을 대상으로 프로그램 참여동기가 만족도에 미치는 영향, 프로그램 참가 전 후 창의적 인성 변화 등을 분석하여 그 차이를 확인하였다. 청소년들이 그린캠프에 참가한 동기는 '모험 흥미', '숲체험', '신체건강증진', '휴식', '주변 권유' 등 총 5개의 요인으로 구분되었다. 각 요인별 만족도 평균을 비교한 결과 '모험 흥미' 요인의 평균이 4.303으로 가장 높았으며, 다음으로 '숲체험' 요인 4.287, '휴식' 요인 3.970 순으로 높게 나타났다. 만족도는 '캠프에 사용된 교재 또는 교구'에 대한 만족도가 평균 4.530으로 가장 높게 나타났고, '캠프 내용(4.410)', '진행자(4.229)', '진행방법(4.036)', '진행장소(3.952)', '진행시간(3.843)' 순으로 높게 나타났다. 동기요인별 만족도 중 '숲체험' 요인은 유의수준 0.05에서 유의미한 차이를 보이며 프로그램 참가 만족도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그린캠프 참가자의 창의적 인성 변화는 프로그램 참가 전 평균 3.687에서 참가 후 평균 3.773으로 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다(t=-2.218, p=0.029). 본 연구는 청소년 숲체험 교육의 참여동기에 따른 만족도 분석을 통해 개선점을 도출하고, 창의적 인성 변화 효과를 검증하였다. 이를 통해 숲체험을 중심으로 하는 산림교육 활성화의 필요성을 제시하였다는 측면에서 연구의 의의가 있다.

노년기 조기퇴직과 경력마감 형태 : 남성노인을 중심으로 (Old Age Early Retirement and Careering Ending Patterns : Centering around the US Older Men)

  • 본 연구는 서구사회에서 대량으로 발생하는 중고령자의 조기퇴직과 그에 따른 경력의 마감형태에 대하여 개인수준의 자료를 갖고 노동시장 및 사회보장정책적인 시각에서 분석하였다. 오늘날 많은 중고령근로자들이 조기퇴직을 하고 있지만 그 이후에 어떤 형태로 경력을 종료하는지에 대한 연구는 이제 시작단계에 불과하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 55세 이후 직업에서 이탈한 후 61세까지의 개인의 노동시장 경험을 분석하여 노년기의 경력마감형태를 발견 구성해 보고 어떤 요인들이 복잡한 경력종료형태에 영향을 미치는지 미시적 모형과 거시적 모형을 설정, 그 영향력을 추정하였다. 본 연구의 개념적 틀은 대규모의 조기퇴직 현상은 종래의 사회심리적 결정모델과 미시경제적인 설명방법보다는 사회의 구조적 과정으로서 노동시장의 주체(기업, 경영자협회, 노조, 국가)등의 역할을 강조하는 고령화의 정치경제적 접근(political economy of aging)에 바탕을 둔 노동시장접근방법을 차용하였다. 본 목적을 위해 전미고령자종단연구 1966-1991(최종분석대상 n=2,784) 자료를 분석하였으며, 그 결과를 보면 55세 현직에서 계속 근무하는 형태(27.3%), 55세 직업을 그만두고 전직하여 다른 직업에서 근무하는 형태(46.1%), 노동시장전출입을 반복한 형태(4.4%), 간헐적으로 경제활동에 종사하는 형태(15.9%), 영구 퇴직하여 노동시장에 복귀하지 않는 형태(6.3%)등 다양한 형태로 나타났다. 설명모델을 추정한 결과 건강의 정도, 코호트 소속, 민족적 배경, 가치관 변수보다는 기업연금, 공적연금, 노동시장상태, 직업의 구조변수들이 고령자의 경력마감행동에 더 강한 영향력을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났으며 이것은 노동시장접근관점이 조기퇴직을 설명하는데 더 강한 설명력이 있음을 시사하는 것이다.
