제조업 일별 전력 사용량을 활용한 일일전력경기지수(DEBI) 개발 (Development of a Daily Electricity Business Index by using the Electricity Daily Data of the Manufacturing Sector)

  • Electricity sales are directly measured from individual consumers, which could minimize the time gap between data collection and public announcement. Furthermore, industrial electricity sales are highly linked with production and output. Therefore, industrial electricity consumption can be used to track production and output in real time. By using the high-frequency data of industrial electricity sales, this study develops the daily electricity business index (DEBI) to capture the daily economic status. The steps used to formulate DEBI are as follows: (1)selection of the explanatory variables and period, (2) amendment of the seasonal adjustment to eliminate daily temperature and effective day effects, (3) estimation of the weighted value via variables by using PCA, (4) calculation of DEBI and commencement of validation tests. Our empirical analysis and the Hodrick-Prescott filter analysis show that DEBI is highly related to existing economic indices.

적응 격자 고차 해상도 해법을 위한 다차원 내삽법 (MULTIDIMENSIONAL INTERPOLATIONS FOR THE HIGH ORDER SCHEMES IN ADAPTIVE GRIDS)

  • In this paper, the authors developed a multidimensional interpolation method inside a finite volume cell in the computation of high-order accurate numerical flux such as the fifth order WEND (weighted essentially non-oscillatory) scheme. This numerical method starts from a simple Taylor series expansion in a proper spatial order of accuracy, and the WEND filter is used for the reconstruction of sharp nonlinear waves like shocks in the compressible flow. Two kinds of interpolations are developed: one is for the cell-averaged values of conservative variables divided in one mother cell (Type 1), and the other is for the vertex values in the individual cells (Type 2). The result of the present study can be directly used to the cell refinement as well as the convective flux between finer and coarser cells in the Cartesian adaptive grid system (Type 1) and to the post-processing as well as the viscous flux in the Navier-Stokes equations on any types of structured and unstructured grids (Type 2).

  • 본 논문은 선형 시불변 시스템의 가제어성 및 가관측성 graminan을 가중함수에 의해 변화시키므로써 통과대역의 오차를 감소시키는 저차수화 방법을 제안한다. 저역 통과 필터의 4차를 3차로 감소하는 경우에 제안된 방법에서 QEI는 평형 실현 방법에서 10.16464에 비하여 6.15724로 개선 되었고, 감도는 7.790568에 비하여 5.45692로 개선 되었다. 주파수 특성 곡선은 제안된 방법이 평형 실현 방법보다 우수함을 보인다.

A Study on Visual Saliency Detection in Infrared Images Using Boolean Map Approach

  • Visual saliency detection is an essential task because it is an important part of various vision-based applications. There are many techniques for saliency detection in color images. However, the number of methods for saliency detection in infrared images is limited. In this paper, we introduce a simple approach for saliency detection in infrared images based on the thresholding technique. The input image is thresholded into several Boolean maps, and an initial saliency map is calculated as a weighted sum of the created Boolean maps. The initial map is further refined by using thresholding, morphology operation, and a Gaussian filter to produce the final, high-quality saliency map. The experiment showed that the proposed method has high performance when applied to real-life data.

  • [1]에서 ETBF(extended threshold Boolean filter)의 부분군인 self-dual ETBF가 중앙값 부여파기 출력의 평균547으로 주어짐을 보였다. 이 논문에서는 ETBF의 입력을 실수로 확장하고 이를 이용하여 ETBF의 scale-preservation 성질 및 translation-invariance 성질을 고찰하였다. 특히, ETBF의 scale-preserving 성질이 self-dual 성질의 필요 충분 조건임을 보였다.

  • Global positioning system (GPS) is widely used to measure the position of a vehicle. However, the accuracy of the GPS can be severely affected by surrounding environmental conditions. To deal with this problem, the GPS and odometry data can be combined using an extended Kalman filter. For stable navigation of an outdoor mobile robot using the GPS, this paper proposes two methods to evaluate the reliability of the GPS data. The first method is to calculate the standard deviation of the GPS data and reflect it to deal with the uncertainty of the GPS data. The second method is to match the GPS data to the traversability map which can be obtained by classifying outdoor terrain data. By matching of the GPS data with the traversability map, we can determine whether to use the GPS data or not. The experimental results show that the proposed methods can enhance the performance of the GPS-based outdoor localization.

  • In this paper, a new active noise control technique which combines a hybrid active noise control technique and a subband active noise control technique is presented. To reduce the computational burden the active noise control system, a weighted hybrid control technique is applied. This algorithm shows higher stability and good noise attenuation property in either broad band or narrow band active noise control systems in HVAC ducts. Computer simulations were performed to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • 본 논문은 기존의 가중 메디안 필터에 음의 가중치를 갖는 recursive weighted median(RWM) 필터 구조를 소개하고자 한다. 이는 연산과정에 퍼지 클러스터를 적용하여 또 다른 구조의 RWM 필터를 제안하였다. 제안된 RWM 필터는 infinte impulse response(IIR) 선형 필터의 부류로 상사되는 것으로서 기존의 선형 IIR 필터와는 달리 강건한 대역 또는 고역통과 필터의 특성 뿐만 아니라 피드백 되어진 계수 값에 상관없이 항상 BIBO 시스템에서의 안정성과 잡음에 강건한 특성을 나타낸다. 특히 퍼지 클러스터를 적용하여 중앙값 주변의 값을 적절히 취함으로서 신뢰성과 보다 빠른 연산속도의 성능을 여러 다른 구조의 필터들과 성능 비교 실험을 통해 입증하였다.

Analytical design of constraint handling optimal two parameter internal model control for dead-time processes

  • This work presents an advanced and systematic approach to analytically design the optimal parameters of a two parameter second-order internal model control (IMC) filter that satisfies operational constraints on the output process, the manipulated variable as well as rate of change of the manipulated variable, for a first-order plus dead time (FOPDT) process. The IMC parameters are designed to minimize a control objective function composed of the weighted sum of the error between the process variable and the set point, and the rate of change of the manipulated variable, and to satisfy the desired constraints. The feasible region of the constrained IMC control parameters was graphically analyzed, as the process parameters and the constraints varied. The resulting constrained IMC control parameters were also used to find the corresponding industrial proportional-integral controller parameters of a Smith predictor structure.
